What is the point of not setting a cap based on nationality? Let s be honest. 90% of international students are from India. If they do not come, others will come. Money is money. 99.9% of Indians come to Canada on study permit not to study but to work full time harming other international students from other countries. They come to class for the first few weeks and once they get team mates for team work assignments, they suddenly banish and never show up again. IT IS RUDE. They never speak English. Their stardards are far below CANADIAN STANDARDS. Why keep getting them in? Again. Money is money. Just limit based on nationality on study permit and later pr as well.

Majority of the Students coming to Canada , are from Punjab India. There are great Universities and Colleges in Northern India , and India in General , so the fact is , these are not people who are coming here for Study. They are Economic Refugees , who are exploiting the Student Visa Program to gain entry into Canada for Employment . Canadian Government is too Stupid to understand this ?

Today most of the youth go abroad for higher studies and professional courses. These foreign countries have all the benefits and facilities when they want money by enrolling the students into different courses to make their economy greater but when it comes to job and giving employment it is like they are doing a big favour on us.

Dear 5th estate, I am Ubash, a citizen of New Zealand, a primary school teacher. This documentary is true when it comes to North India, would you be able to do a similar study with South India, you will see a whole different approach, South Indian students hardly fall for these actually.... may be after a case study, you will see the difference between North and South India.

There are just too many immigrants being let in. I’m shocked at the amount of international students at my college. I feel like its almost 90% are international students trying to get PR and some of them can barely write properly. The quality of work being put out by the students makes me question the integrity of schools. So many of them don’t care about what they’re studying and put minimal effort. All they want is PR. They are not willing to adopt Canadian values and I see people pushing and shoving to get on public transport instead of being civilized. I think immigrants from 30 years ago were a different group. Most were refugees and wanted a better life and were willing to adapt to Canadian culture and adopt new values. But nowadays, the mass of immigrants coming in are very different. Many of them are wealthy and are here not to make a better life for themselves and contribute to Canada. They are here to get PR in order to get Canadian benefits as its much better than their own countries. Some want to be able to move to the US later on. They’re taking advantage of the system and it’s f*cking the country.

But even in India I have studied with many Sikh students and never see anyone coming to the school or university with the Kinfe or Kripan whatever it is. This is clearly a sign to spread disturbance and to get unnecessary attention. They don’t represent any religion, they are extremist.

I got fired from my job cause my factory Viva hire 95% international students from India, age from 18 to 27 so call students with full time working visa no kidding those people lots already finished university in their own country they don’t come here for study they come here for our jobs. It is happen at lots factories in gta area, lots people like us will lost job slowly.

The homeless situation is man made created by Liberals. They opened boarder to the every one from across the world specially from African countries who flew their country for crimes.. Now its all over.. They also brought almost 2 million student without any housing and healthcare fix. Now I can see 4 to 5 students live in one room basement apartment each pay $700 a month.\n\nWe are now dropping below other G8 countries in terms of living standards. I remember back in early 90s when Harper was Prime Minister. He use to bring most wealthy business people to come here to open business and employ Canadian. That has boosted the Canadian economy until Trudue came to power and destroyed every thing been built. \n\nWe are fearful our future generation what kind of Canada they will get after 10 to 20 years from now. I hope the Liberals will be out and new PM will do some real work on to stop these useless immigration, international students who mostly come here live not for study as they give up after a year or so due to high cost of fees..

Seriously are they coming to study or finding a loophole to gain immigration. Crying doesn't help all International students know before hand what they are ending up in, its a rat hole. 90% of the students do not even have money to support themselves then why do you come here. They enroll in colleges but are seen working either under the table cash jobs and sending money back home. We Canadian's have had enough of these sad stories. Please don't come to study. Get your PR the right way do not use short cuts.

Canada education and immigration; An oversold dream to Punjabis\n\nPunjabis make a beeline if there is any opening to move to west, Canada encashed this weakness to the hilt.\n\nThey used to allow graduates to migrate on point basis or for education, suddenly they allowed Plus 2 students to come to Canada for education; net result, everyone who crossed the teens, started dreaming of Canada, most private colleges, even engineering colleges got shut down in the Punjab as most preferred to study graduation in Canada.\n\nAnother development took place in Punjab, every nook and corner of every city, even small towns,have an IELTS coaching centre, charging huge money to coach and Punjabis think that clearing the IELTS test is a ticket for settlement.\n\nThe net result is, there are manipulators who manipulate admissions in shady places and ultimately students suffer on arrival in Canada.\n\nThe reality check of Canada today is; there are students who are not getting part time work even, the inflation is very high and they are having a tough time surviving there.\n\nThere is a need to monitor the dream sellers in Punjab so that students are not exploited.\n\nBottom lines\nEducation in Canada is just an illusion, I don't think most students go there to study, or get employed in the line they have studied, they are mostly allowed to migrate in the garb of education; Canada gets labour that runs their universities with their own funds, before joining the workforce.

There's so many negatives to Canada's system and its obvious Canada's insane increase in immigration is only lowering wages, increasing housing prices, importing ethnic tensions and propping up minimum wage jobs. Canada's TFW and foreign student programs don't follow our scoring system. And they're complete scams. Indians come here to study at DeVry college at a strip mall while working full time at Tim Hortons living 6 people to an apartment and they eventually get permanent residency. Canada has a rapidly declining quality of living.

These students are NOT coming to study and get a quality education. Worthier Canadian govt is corrupt or just dumb for not knowing this

Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? Australian universities ban Indian students from Punjab, Gujarat and Haryana amid visa fraud concerns. Canada should follow the same because these so called students not coming to study but to work.

I don't understand all this punjabi and Indian people. Man you are so strong community not only in Canada that you guys cannot make India great that international students come to India to study. You exploit your children for who and doing bunch of scams to your own community.

Study visa are given to international students to travel abroad to the study and come back to their home country after graduation. ?

To all parents and students who are dreaming to study and live abroad please, research about college and see the credibility. Students who are coming after high school going abroad for higher studies please go after bachelor for your PG course. Even a tough guy and girl at such a tender age may not be able to take mental burden. In India we are all protected and guarded and never worked till Bachelor . Have some work experience stay away from family for at least 6 months and see if you can cope with change. This will help you to understand and learn to adjust on your own. Life is not so cheap to give away like that. Hope it helps .

It’s true that Most students do not come here to study, study visa is just a stepping stone for pr, the dream of settling abroad comes with big price tag. Students have been exploited by agents, collages, employers. System is rigid, not only for a particular group but for everyone of us.

Indian recruiters also come to Africa and do the same thing to African students to study in India and study at unaccredited institutions

To be fair, why not the prospect student with a parent come to Canada for 2-4 weeks, check out the campus, ask around (current enrolled students). Second, stay and study in India, become a dr or a pharmacist (3yrs in India, Philippines etc vs 8 yrs in the US), any medical field and transfer over, being done since the 1950’s -ongoing in 2022, any dummy can pass the ECFMG, then start a residency.\n\nDubai has American universities (recognized no diff than physically in the US), Harvard and Michigan state are a couple examples. Victoria College in Alexandria, Egypt (possibly poorer than India), been there forever, AUB (American University of Beirut) recognized as an American college. Protest to have the Indian government to make US schools attractive for US universities to open campuses there. Private universities in the US (Catholic Jesuit colleges, Norte dame, Loyola, etc) charge the same tuition if ur a local or from South Asia.

There is lots of good universities in India...it's more affordable than in Canada...leaving parents, family and friends behind to study here...and breaking parents back and all savings for a foreign studies...not worth it at all...if Canada government is not giving relief to international students..then Canada should stop calling international students coming here...problem solved

Quality of studies by all these colleges is zero and students cannot speak up due to fear of being deported . It’s a mafia making money exploiting poor kids. Businesses come in to exploit further by taking advantage of students paying under minimum wage, all of these violators should be sacked. Shame on the government watching all this happen.

Well said Mate. I'm Nigerian studying in Melbourne and you are very on point with your submissions. Australia is notoriously gaining a reputation of being a country of temporary immigrants. I dont see why I should give my best years to a country treating you as an option when canada is making you a priority. \n\nWould you have stayed on if you got a Job in your field that also chose to sponsor your PR? Would the cold in cananda make you reconsider your decisions? That's a racket I dont seem to understand. So much emphasis on skills and job shortages, yet many skilled graduates from their universities are being denied jobs based on their Residency status. \n\nI.met a Ghanain PHD student in my Uni who came from Canada, he said wages are higher here hence his reason for coming. \n\nLike you said , its a personal journey for everyone.\n\nSomehow, I don't blame them. They never promised PR but they should not also give impression that we are coveted.\n\nI still dont regret coming here though, it adds to my rich life experience. Don’t come to Vancouver Canada to study unless your family is rich. I run a rental business here and LOTs of international students either live in basements or struggle hard to come up with rents. I don’t blame them cuz this city is hell EXPENSIVE. Also even if you get a degree from UBC you are gonna get a job as a bank teller that pays like $16/hr if lucky. People suffer from seasonal depression for about 4-5 months/year. Better just stay in your country if it is not in the war zone and has relatively good health care system. If you can succeed in Canada you can do it in your home country. Not trying to discourage anyone but just wanna help people make rational decisions?

Did some simple maths.\n\nAround 40,000 student turned workers end up not receiving an ITA for PR before the expiration of their PGWP. Assuming most of these studies are 2 year or equivalent programs (which means the PGWP will be 3 years in length), you pay in around CAD 12,000 into the CPP. As a temporary resident, you are not eligible to claim the benefits you have paid into CPP until you have worked in Canada for a minimum of 10 years.(assuming you have not become a PR or citizen) That comes to CAD 480,000,000 in every turnaround.\n\nTo submit a CRS profile, you must have a language proficiency score. This is achieved upon completing an English language test either in the form of IELTS, TOFEL or CELPIP. The average cost of these tests can range from CAD 300-350. And they have a expiry date, usually around 2 years, because as we all know, speaking English is an acquired skill which you can abandon if you so wish, so they need to make sure you still speak English after 2 years or so. Funny enough, if you speak French, it is a completely different story, as a lot of provinces invite specifically people with strong French skill, and Quebéc has the right to make independent decisions of policies on immigration, as Quebéc is not a signatory on the Constitution Act of 1982, so they reserve the right to making their own policies independent from the federal government. (Did I mention the fact Canada is officially a bilingual country, but New Brunswick is the only official bilingual province?) This discrepancy in language preferences of candidates can be elaborated by the TR2PR pathway that was announced in April 2021. (Did I say math? I am international student study an advance diploma in Ottawa. I have lived in many different countries in my life and I just want to get the hell out of this frozen and boooriiingggggg place. all the jobs in this town are for the governments and the international students are been told that if they come to this town they will get a lot of opportunities in the tech sector which is a lie, because you need to have friends in the government. I see many of my friend ending up working in Walmart after paying a large sum of money for their education, this country is an scam . I am graduating soon so I will save some money and continue my studies in USA and not come back here.

Then why the immigrants just don't come here to study at University and work a student job so that then they have a canadian diploma, a canadian job experience, a canadian credit score. Once you graduate in Canada from a program that is in hight demand, it's almost automatic that you get your permanent residency status.

Moving to Vancouver was a great experience tbh, I'm of nigerian heritage but was born in Finchley, North London...\nCanadians are friendly and extremely welcoming ( Coming from the UK i found this so off-putting ) lol. Ironically its non-white Canadians i had funny experiences with.... from dating to renting its weird\n\n\nAsians under 27 always asking some crazy questions ( Are you an NBA player ) lol it's cute at first but after a while when little koreans walk up to me talking about ( You look like will smith ) it makes you think... To be fair these are not inherent negatives, But asian canadians alone did treat me weird i found, Indian girls i met all wanted to be with me but where also very ashamed to say so or let their family know, but thats a cultural thing so i understood.\n\n\n Of all the demographics White canadian and native men where the most welcoming and open to me, in my experience.. White women of-course where cool too but that does not really count, especially as a good looking black guy with an accent LOOL you know how that goes!! Its impossible in Van unless you are an Arab exchange student lol \nArab and Persian students studying english have no issues renting in Vancouver, for some reason!!\n\nI lived out the St. Regis downtown for a month, Looking for places to rent, i had seen so many places online and filled out applications but never got call backs, asides from 2 group showings i went to, i could not even set up a viewing with the apartment building i wanted... \n\nTill i met an african girl in school, and she told me something i found completely crazy.\nShe told me to make a new e-mail addy and to use my English name when i e-mail, then set up a viewing but to show up with a white friend preferably a girl and that if the owner is asian, i should look around, and offer to pay 6months upfront before they get a chance to ask what i did for work or whether i was a student or not LOL. Needless to say, i did what she said and It worked the asian lady asked me to come get the keys later that day. Its just life, as a property owner they really just wanna size you up, not fair and kind of pathetic but its not inherently evil...

Nice job, I wish they do the same thing in usa, lot of students coming from india, china study at shadow universities, do not go back once done with their studies. I wish usa be more hard on people who breach visa terms.
