I know a Indian friend who when he was a student due to climate issue got in a delayed flight in UAE, he hates politics but he follows a philosophy that's eye for an eye, and that is if everyone can be a thief nobody will be a thief, if you steel from me, I've the right to do the same, he was denied a 1 day visa by the UAE government and had to stay in the airport for 15 hours, he was angry, while others in the flight was given a 1 day visa, so say 15 years later, he is running his own business abroad, got a chance in open interview to interview students, saw one was a UAE citizen, he never took the interview for him, his philosophy, after 15 hours of waiting, he will take that student's interview, he took other's interview, after time was over he left the office and later the student left, his attitude is he as the right to do the same.

I tell you in New Delhi there is special section of the city that dedicated to students going overseas. They make fake documents and fake college degrees and fake passports and fake visas. You just go and pay the guy ₹5000 and your process to come to Canada.

These students came for an education. You accepted the terms of that student visa and should thereby adhere to those terms. Many countries do offer jobs to international students who excel in their studies if there are available positions in that field that Canadians can not fill. It is Indian recruiters who have sold the residency idea both in India and Canada. It is these recruters that teach them how to defraud our systems and take your money. If you think about it, how many successful companies hire people with strip mall college certificates in high paying jobs.\n\nWho they should be protesting against are their recruiters who sold them this illusion, not our government. There are processes for residency, not privileges.

Students with expired visas should go back. But what is Canadian culture? Is it found in Quebec? Alberta? Or the Reserves? What is it exactly? Do Canadian Immigration documents require applicants to sign they will convert their religion or culture after coming here? If you would change your culture upon entering another country, good for you but you have no right to expect that kind of inauthenticity from other people. If someone changes who they are and their culture upon entering another country then they are not as real as they portray. The student program should have never been a path to permanent residence. Every Study Permit application should have the three below terms and conditions:\n\n1. Purpose of the Visa: This student visa is issued solely for the purpose of pursuing your studies at [Institution Name] in Canada. It is a temporary visa, and its primary function is to allow you to study and engage in academic activities. It is not a pathway to permanent residency or citizenship in Canada.\n\n2. Temporary Nature of the Visa: Your student visa is valid only for the duration of your enrolled academic program or course of study. Upon the completion of your studies, you are required to leave Canada immediately, unless you apply for and are granted a different visa that legally allows you to remain, such as a work visa.\n\n3. No Pathway to Permanent Residence: This student visa does not confer eligibility for permanent resident status or citizenship in Canada. You are not permitted to apply for permanent residency or citizenship while holding this visa. If you wish to apply for permanent status in Canada, you must do so separately and in person at your country of origin in accordance with the immigration laws and procedures of Canada.

Every country has immigration law. No one is above the law or below the law. What is wrong with temporary stay and student visa has to go home? Go back to India if you are India citizens. Why is this a news item ? Canadians are struggling and chances of recovery seem difficult. Canada needs to deport millions including students, refugees and temporary visa holders in order to ensure Canadians have employment. Canada is not in good position and its economy is struggling and if the trend continues there will be riots on the streets. Canadians are not able to food on the table and there are many without roof over their heads.

I am from Chennai, India, living and working in the USA. These students knew quite well that Fraud was committed in their visas. They do not come for Education; instead, they look for work in Canada, then higher wages in Canada, and better freebies from the Canadian government.

Similar story, grew up in Vancouver as a kid. Can't say that I got much from Canada other than a pile of student debt. With a top engineering degree from a Canadian university, no jobs, no interviews. If it set me up for a better future, I could give it some credit, but even with visas, I had *much* better luck with opportunities in the US and even in western Europe, which is similarly socialist to Canada. I have had to move from country to country thanks to the lack of decent opportunity in Canada. More liability than asset, in my experience, other than the passport. so ircc approved their visas based upon an offer letter from a canadian college, university. Instead of asking thousands of students to prove their credentials why cant IRCC approach those colleges and verify a students status with them.

Why would you want to extend your work permit? You are a student and you should be going back to India after you finish your study and before your visa expires unless you get visa sponsorship. India is a democratic country with freedom. It's not like Ukraine. What's the point of staying in Canada??
