One young woman, seethes telling is that she is “ashamed and discussed” about the plights of (as it is demonstrated by the video) are all black Africans. \n \nWell, what a total insanity it is that, we have this mid-20-year-old bleeding-heart demanding that more be done to help refugees when her fellow-Canadians are dispossessed in their own country. So, I wonder how many of these African refugees she has arranged to stay at her own, of some of her relatives’ abodes. \n \nBut, considering there would EASILY be 2 billion featureless bipeds traipsing the planet residing in the Third World who reside in dire economic, and sociological quagmires, and would UPROOT themselves in a moment to go a western country to get free housing and welfare means it wouldn’t take long to transform these places they lob in, to be turned into Third World shitholes. \n \nIn Britain (overwhelmingly England) over 80 percent of robberies, and knife crimes are carried out by black African youths who are mainly the offspring of asylum seekers from Africa. In France, Africa youths are also a huge part of their social problems. And it’s all manifestly due to the fact that, Africans are overtly devoid of the capacity to study really hard – like Chinese or Indians – to improve their lots. Hence, they are (as the fellow in the reddish colour shirt bemoans) looking for handouts. \n \nAs for international students: they (and not just in Canada) are a major reason why there is a housing crisis and, moreover, why rents are excessive. International students in Canada, Australia, Holland and NZ, are in plague proportions and are a HUGE problem: well, except for the people running education institutions, and employers who exploit them for low wages.

Listen as a minority person who is proud of my heritage but grew up here with immigrant parents who were given refuge in Canada, I can understand immigration. But...its getting out of hand, most of them are from India, most of them have homes in India and often return there for long vacations, These are not refugees or a diverse spread of peoples coming here. I am not hateful in any way but sometimes you have to tell it like it is, A lot of these people are not adapting to the culture here, why? Because most of them are grown already and are used to their own customs, with an ever increasing population now living here they don't really feel the need to learn or adapt because there are less regular Canadians. When I was in school it was already pretty multi-cultural and diverse although yes in my area there are less asians and black people, we had a lot of European(Serbian/Romanian) in particular. Now I go to the store and it's like 80% brown/Indian people lol, even my neighbors, most have moved out and more indian families are moving in. My city is expanding into like a mini Toronto when we can't even handle it, people cant even find jobs, people need all this other stuff, Its just too many all at once, crime rates have gone up over the last few years, this doesn't help anyone, immigrants either.

Suffering with loneliness, drug and homelessness. I'm an int'l student. I feel really sad when I encounter with any Canadian homeless person. I try to help as much as possible. 700,000 of the 1.1 million that came to Canada are students. The international student system needs to be overhauled. The university/colleges who want international students must register with the feds. Those with permits MUST BE MADE to build, own, and provide international students with housing. When an international student is offered a placement in a Canadian education institution, they are also offered housing built by that institution. Once acceptance is made, then the details are sent to the feds and the visa is finally issued. This way, everyone who comes, has housing, it takes pressure off the domestic housing market, the students themselves know where they are going to be and how much things will cost, including the housing, and the Canadian institutions who want the stdents, have to now pay for them. This will force the education institutions to build more housing, lower the number of students they bring in, and offer much more remote learning opportunities if the program really does not require the students to come at all. Pass the bill onto the institutions, and the problem will quickly resolve. The federal government is being LAZY. If it wants people, it has to focus on a system that makes sense for people to come to Canada, insure the institutions dont take advantage of these students AND NOT shift the housing problem to the domestic market. The federal and provincial governments also need to organize themselves with each other. The provinces should tell the federal government how many they can take in based on housing stock and unemployment rate, and the feds only grant visas based on those numbers, and the visas require those coming to be in the province that has space for them. This way, you help to take pressure off the larger cities and spread growth to areas of the country that wants the growth. The approach needs to be bottom up, so needs and capacity drive the numbers allowed in.

Programs end and change often. \n\nIn Canada definitely bargain and shop around for good phone plans. one idea is to get a pay as you go until “Black Friday” then every year or two when your good offer expires there will be many others. It’s the time with the best deals saving almost half. For instance, I have 50 gigs for $25 for two years from a large provider. Telephone companies are the one place where people must bargain and even ask for better deals as a must.\n\nThe people you see living in big houses, will have kids that can’t afford the same. This is because prices keep rising. The system protects the very rich, but will also drain the middle class often within 1-2 generations. Do not link your business to your personal finance, or creditors can take your home. Some not knowing this lose everything and rich people know better. \n\nPeople live until they are very old, so inheritance is pretty much meaningless to rely on, so no matter what your parents have you must hustle in life. \n\nI do think Canada can become what we want over time. Yet how is this possible in a city that is always pushing out lower income people when wealthier people desire the area. \n\nIn Toronto, every time you move you have to take what is available and that might mean moving an hour away from everyone you know. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. But they perhaps people knew to Canada can reject this lonely structure and help us rebuild Toronto into an amazing place. \n\nWe need to make sure everyone can afford housing with 30% of their income. This is very true. I am an Austrian citizen that tried to immigrate into Canada from 2021-2023, I worked my ass off, working 2 jobs for most of my stay and living as cheaply as possible. I still burned through all my savings and a significant amount of money my family sent me to help out. I had an accident and waited for hours for an ambulance to show up, they transported me to a different city because in this town none of the two hospitals had a fucking X-Ray machine. Then the next morning the hospital in the other city kicked me out again, with a fucked up back, because there were no beds available. Had to call my neighbours to come pick me up again (thank you Tracy, love you) because I couldn't get home anymore. Lost one of my jobs thanks to this and started a different one, couldn't afford live in BC anymore and moved to Winnipeg because I heard live there is cheaper. It is, but not significantly so, but you pay for this by living in terrible conditions. Rent was still high, salary was shit, the public transport system is.... Existent but not reliable and the city is so incredibly dirty. There's garbage everywhere. Between my apartment and the nearest dollar store was one garbage can and that was a 20-30 minute walk, here in Vienna there's garbage cans everywhere and thanks to them the city is cleaner. \n\nAnyways, I gave up on moving to Canada and came home. Still dealing with my fucked up back (though it's getting better thanks to Physio and a good doctor) and the debt I accrued in the last few years. But my apartment costs less than half for the same size, my job earns me significantly more money, my phone plan is better and costs less than half and the food is both much much cheaper and much much better. \n\nI am happy with life now. Thank you Canada for showing me how bad even other parts of the developed world are, I really learned to appreciate Austria while I was away.

In my opinion, those who are against decriminalization just do not understand the real goal and intention behind the policy in the first place. It's not decriminalization itself that caused the problem- it was decriminalization without other adequate programs or policies that supported it. For example, decriminalization keeps more people out of prisons because the prison and legal systems are a complete and total mess. But along with that, they didn't really focus on specialized programs to help treat and care for those addicted. So, people are being kept out of jail but they don't have any affordable housing to go to instead so they end up on the streets. Therefore, decriminalization (which I support) must be done in collaboration with other policy like better regulating (and capping) housing and food costs, healthcare and immigration policy, adequate shelter and social programs as well as extensive treatment (harm reduction or abstenince since both have their place). Otherwise we get what is currently happening in this video.

The dude complaining about the volunteers for social services work getting paid is redic. This is work and to maintain it getting done consistently and as often as needed you need to pay peers or employees for their time and work. Yes some people will hold to volunteer work, I do volunteer work myself. But if you're volunteering you're more likely to call out for silly reasons or not work as hard and then you end up short staffed and people not getting the help they need. I have worked in these encampments, got paid, but provided the camps with harm reduction supplies, food & water, and toiletries as well as helping people call Central Intake and references to medical support. That is still work, I would usually walk about 10km a day with a heavy bag on my back and I'm poor disabled person myself. \n\nAs well as addressing unhoused folks using substances, would you want to go to detox while not having a home? It feels absolutely horrible and getting sober when you don't have a bed to shower in, a toilet to use, a shower to clean yourself up in, is really f*cking hard. A lot of people start using substances like meth to help them survive as well, needing it to stay up at night so you don't get attacked at night sleeping. Don't shame substance use, but especially substance use with the unhoused.

I’m surprised you never saw me. I’m homeless in a shelter and I hate this city.. well I hate all the cities like this. The people are heartless and sacred. The homeless are high and sad… I wander the streets like all day every day. When I have money I try to help the street people. Or I end up smoking weed on occasion. But there’s a lot of garbage and garbage people out there. I’m basically the rat king. I wander round doing anything I can. I’m pretty crazy tho I have bpd and doctors don’t really help anyone. Yeah it's not just immigrants it's also born here Canadians. We are tired of the state of country, our lack of freedom and democracy, our failing healthcare and healthcare facilities, laughable education system, lack of infrastructure for new comers and Canadians alike. No party in Canada, neither Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Green, no one really represents Canadians and really listens to the public. We learned there is NO future here for us or our family. We're done with a country that I pay taxes too, believed in, it's not my fault that I have to leave, it's CANADA and decades of bad policies, investing in wars instead of our home and people. Trudeau spent more time demonizing anti-vaxxers and truckers and funding Ukraine rather then helping starving Palestinians and Congolese people, families struggling here locally to feed their family, kids are who aren't getting a proper education, elderly unable to pay for their medicine or food. We are all suffering because no one in our govt wants to actually help our country get back on track. So our govt is essentially pushing us OUT. We don't want to leave, we have no choice.

Many people who have commented with negative sentiments are not really aware how it's elsewhere especially in poor countries. If someone is looking a basic life, definitely you can manage a job , basic amenities and lot of safety. If someone is looking good quality life with decent savings , that's possible provided if he or she take additional degree and start working in intermediate roles regardless of the business. Having certain specific religious background could help since this society gives lot of importance to your religious background, whether you believe it or not. I am not saying society is intolerant but admin is highly biased. Income tax is there in almost all OECDs, if you are still not liking it , well, you know who to elect next time .

If they really wanted to help the Palestinians, they would help them to evict all Hamas and Hasbulla influences from their territory. So the question is do the people of Gaza want that?. Because if they don’t want that this unrest and this war will continue.

He is really saying we want to maximize misery and death of civilians, by not taking refugees to help promote the united Palestinian War against Israel. Imagine if Poland and all neighboring countries to Ukraine told them they wouldn't take a single refugee from the War caused by Russia. Same thing. Gaza attacked Israel. It's unbelievable that massive countries surrounding puny Gaza don't offer any refuge from the War started by the leadership in Gaza. Ask yourself why and its not the BS he says.

Good for you. I think what you are talking about many muslims are feeling. So my advice is find out where you are going and make it an easy place for muslims to get into despite their finances, then help others to do hijrah. Like to be a support. I am up for it. This is ridiculous our borders north and especially south should be heavily protected. I don’t understand why we keep allowing all these illegal foreigners in and host them all over our cities at our expense it BS. We need that help they’re giving out to people who aren’t citizens or residents. Enough is enough and I really hope next president will do something about this and protect us cause this administration hasn’t done anything for us but give away billions of our hard earned money to other countries. They need to put more barb wire barriers from the banks of the river all the way to the outer fence. That way they can’t come up the bank of the river at all. One has to assume that we have smart people behind the scenes that have been looking at this issues at length. They have either warned the government, and they ignored it, or there is something else at work. Perhaps the government KNOWS they will cause a housing crisis, and it's BY DESIGN!!! How many politicians out there own, or rent out their properties to gain income. This inflation will REALLY help their portfolio $$$. They are taking advantage of the crisis! If you spin it that way, their decisions all make sense. They do not care about Canadians at all, they only care about the already wealthy, protecting, or even gaining from the high inflation the KNEW WAS COMING. You have all been duped, and all politicians are in on it (red, blue, yellow and green!)

If I may summarize, so for AIP - Worker stream in NB: \n1. the eligibility criteria is to have at least 1 year full time working experience (1560 hours) in any Teer 0 - Teer 4 job for the last 5 years inside or outside NB. \n2. then get a Full-time Job in any of the designated companies in NB \n3. once we got the full time job, we will create the settlement plan to be submitted to the employer, then the employer submit the settlement plan to the provincial AIP dept. to issue the endorsement letter which then is used to apply for my PR \n \nSo does that mean, once we get a full-time job in any of the designated company in NB, then we can immediately start the process for the settlement plan and endorsement letter, without having the working experience in the New Brunswick? Is my understanding correct? Please kindly advise. Thanks

Something is very rotten in this world.. The governments of these countries heavily criticise The West but at the end of the day, their refugees from their countries come flocking to us for a better life.. Fleeing is easy! If you really want a better life, you need to work hard and push against your leaders to demand that your voice is heard! offering asylum is the humane thing to do yes, but it's not helping solve any problems. Sometimes you need to be cruel to be kind and i think it's about time we shut the doors.

Moved to Canada in 2017 and looking to leave in 2024. I was lucky to come here with a job and I’m making a six figure income even though I’m far from being successful. However, the problem with canada at the moment is even if you have a decent job and not too bad salary, you still can’t afford a home and the rent keeps going through the roof. Canada’s obsession with immigration is lazy and irresponsible. The politicians and elites see immigrants as cash cows and instead of creating companies that generate jobs and wealth, they speculate in the housing markets which are fuelled by immigrants. Immigration is not necessarily a bad thing but you do it with a plan, definitely not as radically as Canada did under the liberal government. The massive immigration only helps the rich, the already haves and the investors. Ask middle and lower classes how they feel about their life quality in Canada, do they really benefit from the immigration? They fight hard for jobs with minimum wages, pay for ridiculous rents, wait in the long line at the emergency rooms, get into bidding wars in the housing markets …. If you are not rich, simply don’t come to Canada. It’s not worth it unless you enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck and owning nothing.
