8:40 at best Buy...im a 46 year old white Male and have been hounded no differently at similar box stores.... In other circumstances, I do see common loyalty to people sharing same ethnic backgrounds. Life is not fair kids and there are sometime favoritism...just like a parent favoring one child over another ...again ,life is not and will never be fair.

3:13 none of our health care is free.. none..it better to think of it pre pay if you use it or not... \n\nUnless you can magic medicine and diagnostic tools, that's what a percentage of your tax pays.\n\nIn my opinion neither the USA system of health care, nor canada do I see much off difference in level of care.\n\nWhat I mean that is each system has its trade offs. For Canada small thing like broken arm or need information or certain medication i n that way Canada supior way, it's fairly quick treatment and tends to be effictive. Where Canada starts lagging behind is really in RnD and access to life saving procedures. Too many people die on waiting lists in Canada as there is not enough resources to go around, y'all have waited 4-8 H(normal is 2-4) just to be seen before don't fib to web now. \n\nAnd since we lack competition for newer/better medical procedure, 80-90% of our medical knowledge comes from the states or ww2 Germany.\n\nWhile on say the USA side, due to the competition they are constantly making advancements (which in the long run makes overall treatment cheaper and closer affordable). While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

I'm of Scottish/Irish descent and few people are whiter than I am plus I have freckles and auburn hair. I had just moved to Orlando and dropped off several prescriptions to an Eckerd's drugstore. Rather than leaving and returning 30 to 45 minutes later decided to look around and see the store layout for future reference. I wasn't wearing a coat and I never opened my purse. I got my prescriptions and left the store. An alarm beeped and the manager came outside, grabbed my arm and yanked me back into the store. A security guard watched as I was taken into a little office, had my purse contents dumped on the floor and was told I must have stolen something. I pointed out the teenagers who were blatantly stuffing things in cargo pants pockets. They ignored them. After pawing through my things I was told I could put the stuff back in my purse. I demanded the manager pick up everything and put it on his desk and then I'd put it in my purse. As I left the alarm rang again. We realized the Stone Mountain metal label on the front of my purse set off the alarm. He never apologized. I called the corporate office and was told he'd get a reprimand. I could have charged him with assault. Grabbing me and forcing me into his store and office against my will violated FL laws. I never set foot in that store again and warned everyone I met not to. It may have been a coincidence but the store was shut down within 6 months. Others of different races said that manager had harassed them, too.

Did they all get sent into the same shoppers one after the other? And did the previous people buy anything? Also did the other men go down the baby isle? What if they have a problem with people stealing baby formula. I mean... I'm not saying covert or systemic racism doesn't exist in Canada, but there are so many holes in this video. Also would be interesting to see what would happen if they were dressed up differently.

Wow I realize how oblivious I am when out in public. Makes me wonder how many times I get racially profiled. While I can recognize there is racism, there are various factors involved for people’s behaviours. There will be people who are very clear with their message but maybe the others could be because of natural human social normalcy. I’d be interested to see an experiment by asking people to decide who are more trustworthy based on what is normal in their society, choosing between two different photos. One with full face covering and the other completely exposed.

There is bias in the experiments having the presumption of being treated differently. I did a test going into different stores of the same name and I was treated differently. I also was treated differently by women compared to men. Younger individuals compared to older and depending on the section of store. I never look around to see if someone is around me and when I did start looking, people were there. Could it be we are looking for flaws in people? Society today is being taught skin color, gender and ethnicity are THE reasons you get attention from someone else. There are extremely rude and immorally questionable people in this world, yes. Thank goodness they are the few.\n\nWe cannot give them recognition by building societal rules around their behaviors. Ignore them and they will fade away.

Canada is full of racism and that’s a fact. There is not much of the difference with the States either. Only difference is that Canada’s racism comes in the form institutional and systemic racism. The states have a way bigger platform than Canada so their situations regarding racism will be covered more than Canada’s and also Canada hides behind the “it’s such a diverse country” statement to diverge from the issue of racism. Ask yourself this- Which country do you see a wider diverse representation of, concerning the people in power? In Toronto we just had our first black police chief(which was a big thing here) a few years back while in the States they’ve been having people of colour and many minorities in power. Representation of different ethnic backgrounds is an issue here but nevertheless the states still have a long way to go with racism. I love Canada so much but there is absolutely racism that this country will not bother to even acknowledge

I’ve lived on both sides of the border (New York and Ottawa/Gatineau). I am white. And I’ve been pulled over on both sides wile I was driving and wile a black person was driving. I’ve seen scary difference between the interactions with the police. Though the US cops are a little more harsh to the black people the Canadians ones weren’t much better. If you deny that is happening in Canada your wrong. If you deny it’s happening in the US your wrong. It happens no matter what side of that imaginary line on. Be the change you wanna see. If your white use your privilege to promote change. And for everyone, go to protest (safety there is still a pandemic going on), sign petitions, vote and get involved with government. Both sides of the border have the chance to make things right, act now!

It's so blatant what's going on now. This isn't about race. This is about divide. Whoever these people are who are telling what these companies/media to say are clearly trying to get us fighting each other. It really seems like they're trying to divert attention. If we're all fighting each other we're not paying attention to what's happening to the side. \n\nPlease people. Right, left, black, white, blue, yellow, atheist, or religious. We need to come together. They are using our beliefs against us. I know it's hard to see other's views when they are so radically different than your own, but we have to look at the bigger picture.

The past was shameful yes! But you cant live in the past. You must move forward. Are white people not also killed? I dont see racism like the US. 100% of the people I see of different colors are kind and respectful to each other. The news media is trying to divide us and I would love to see more challenge them in there attempt.

There is racism, stereotypes and then statistics. Racism is wrong and fueled by hate, no excuse. Stereotypes are the use of statistics on an everyday basis, where people just know the overall and basic results of the study, most times just spread out by word of mouth. Statistics themselves are factual, especially when the number or sample data (or population) is large enough.They all exist, but don't be too quick to judge which ones you see here.\nDo the rental property managers, store clerks etc. act differently because they are fueled by hate (some maybe), or just trying to risk management present and future situations based on statistics/stereotypes? That's for you to decide!

Targeting because of skin colour is wrong of course.\n I am not offended when asked to open my bags before I leave a store. But being white, I don't experience racism so I guess my perspective is different. I could see that being a slipery slope though, when one has to prove everything in a bag was purchased elsewhere.\n I enter stores sometimes with two bike paniers full of gear for the changing weather. \nIf there was a safe place to secure bags at the entrance, I wouldn't be offended to leave it there.But stores wouldn't want that cause that cost money. Instead we criminalize people, particularly people of colour.

Been raised seeing no color of human race. A chemical makes the skin, hair, eye, color of human race.\nWith that in mind I wonder.........I myself get treated so different w appearance . I mean to the point I have been followed, stink eyed, I cried. I mean people judge , so how far does it go? I mean people I know have lower income, edication etc, try to put my place. CBC let me tell you a story about me. I’ve been followed many times for committing no crimes. Now there’s one difference i’m white and each time that happened the guard was black. I’ve never been followed by a white guard. That tells me it’s racially motivated. Do you have any idea how degrading it is? Let’s see how many people have had the same experience. I’m curious...

I am a powerful woman raised by my grandparents and my parents in an amazing family. I identify myself as a woman of colour, amazing colour, it embraces me and reflects back my beauty for all around me to see. We were given every opportunity to explore the world where we lived and had passion for reading books, I was encouraged to explore so much of the world and ideologies. Issues of racism existed around me and this was unquestionable, but we had a safe place in a family with committed parents to develop and make our mark on the world. How refreshing to explore the world from a safe place and our parents especially my father encouraged us to mix with people of all cultures, because he firmly believed and I also believe there is only one race, the human race. We look different on the outside but let’s enjoy the fact that God made of one flesh all people. So, impressed with my amazing grandparents and parents... I love myself and I love the world that we live in, even though everyone is not perfect, we are are amazing. I was born in Jamaica, raised in England, UK, and now live in Canada.

There’s really only 3 big cities in Canada, Toronto Montreal and Vancouver. Which are completely different than all of Canada. Toronto is very similar to London England. Whereas Montreal is really similar to Paris. Not so much in architecture, but in terms of people, life, style, slang. Lots of people in Toronto listen to toronto artist and UK artist as well whereas Montreal residents listen to their Montreal artist and French artist from France. Most of the similarities here are actually not like any American cities. America to us seems really “white” there’s not lot of diversity there either. Toronto is so diverse, People from literally everywhere its so nice to see. Our Prime Minister also a lot better looool

you see people from different age group and back round get treated different and even people of same back round in apple valley get treated different. All people discriminate regardless.

Try having 3 white guys wearing differently and see if people will treat them differently... We are just normal human beings.. not Saints.. so racism, biases etc will always be there.. and the more we over react or being over sensitive, the more these issues will become obvious..

I am Cypriot and maybe I do not understand certain cultures. But why do people differ because of skin colour. And why we see people as black or white. We are the same in different shades of beige to brown.I do not see white or black in skin.It is not natural. We humans come in different shades. sizes, skills and talents. By the way I am a shade light to medium if anyone is interested.

Different cultures have different tendencies and behaviours. If you see a certain behaviour more than once among the same culture / group, you will naturally start categorizing. Most people think it's a skin colour (which very commonly is just an attribute of a certain culture or group), but in reality, it's hard to tell people not to stereotype and just simply ignore what you observe.

We always hurt each other , forget what we are taught and hear or see ,think and listen too your heart , we are all different, but try too judge people one on one, we will all see a new friend

I am Living in Ottawa I am white, I lived here my whole life and now I am a minority I deal with different races all the time and I do feel that I am being pushed out of my country different ethnicities treat me with disrespect I was growing up with Canadian culture of respecting everyone around you but I fine with all these different cultures coming in I’m losing my Canadian identity and it is a lot for me to hold strong onto the values as of what the Canadian is and I’m a fourth generation Canadian I see what’s happening to our veterans I visit my grandfather every other week and I see all the different nationalities that are PSW‘s and nurses And I really mean no offence but we have a different level of respect we have a different way of talking and these different nationalities coming in they all click together and some of them they treat the men who built this country with such disrespect please listen to meand I’m really not Trying racially profile this is been happening for the last 15 years and I’m not being silent about it Canada is freedom of speech Canada is being strong enough to speak up I mean this from the bottom of my heart if you’re coming into my country that my grand parents built for me and my children can you please give my children the opportunity that you were now taking from them and I see how they treat our veterans I see how difficult it is for seniors that didn’t have a placement in our homeless I see that all of our government funding is now going to people that are now immigrating into Canada and they’re being able to start up small businesses have four bedroom townhomes in their children to schools and drive them and fancy SUVs can you look around us and see somebody sold Canada

When I see people indulging in racial profiling or discrimination I wonder if humans are actually that dumb ? Treat differently just because someone has a different Colour ? Why is speaking in English so imp even if the one speaking is talking dumb ! ! \nAren’t bilinguals more intelligent and attractive ? I realize that some people are asses....that will never end. But the term racism is thrown around way too much. First of all, it’s tribalism and it’s a normal part of being human. Any thing that is ‘other’ or different will be viewed with suspicion and or dislike. It will never be stopped, it can’t be educated away and it can’t be made to go away by immersing people in multiculturalism. Think back to when you were a child even...seeing someone who was handicapped would make you wary of them. Now, when those normal perceptions cause you to treat someone bad or as a lesser person is when it becomes a problem. That CAN be educated away. But to attempt to make people feel bad because of there responses to the faces on the computer is ridiculous. EVERYONE, regardless of race, will have tendencies towards tribalistic thinking.

Yes I ran into racial profiling when I wanted to ask why CBC is biased and won't report fairly. Being white and male, I was told that my opinion is invalid, and in spite of the taxes I pay for their wages, I don't have any say. Moreover, because I am male, CBC's supreme leader Trudeau has dictated I am not allowed any sort of platform. This is an important issue! Why do you think these sterotypes are so prevalent CBC? Crime statistics? Day to day crime by certain groups? CBC hates the question why because it conflicts with their bias as mandated by identity politics. Once I can walk through any place in Canada and not simply see, with my own eyes, the obvious differences between people based on color, or am treated like a direct decendant of slave owners by our state run media, maybe then the forty-thousand years worth of tribal cues ingrained in me will change. I was amazed to see how few white people live in Toronto now compared to 15 years ago, it's like being in a different country. Although there didn't look to be many hispanics it was mostly middle eastern and Asian.

I see no difference about anyone, anywhere and anything, anymore about living in this planet. The only way is to see the big picture. A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

Not all white store workers who ask you if you need help are doing so because they think you will steal. Yes, I believe you! I know it happens, but I am a cashier, and sometimes I work on self scan. During very slow times, I will see confused customers looking around, so I ask if they need help. I do that with black, white or Hispanic people. I ONLY do it if they look confused. I enjoy helping people, so for me, it's altruistic. Please don't assume all are suspicious of you. Try and know the difference between the suspicious ones vs the ones who truly care.

Unfortunately, a person with visible differences, such as skin colour, can't change into something that attracts less attention, but, a black man in a suit is still less likely to be profiled than one in everyday clothes.\n\nAlso, I am well spoken, which makes a difference in the way I am treated. If you speak in a way that makes you sound less educated or of a lower class, then you are treated differently.\n\nTry sending in a white guy who is less clean-cut and less well-spoken and see the difference in the way he is treated. Have him act a bit nervous, look around a lot, or appear to be less than middle or upper class and see the difference in how he is treated. I guarantee he won't get good offers in those apartment buildings, if he gets any offers at all.\n\nA friend once told me a story about a friend of his who was very well off. This man went into an exclusive car dealership to look at a car on display. He didn't like to appear as well of as he was, so often wore simple jeans and t-shirt. When he asked the price of the car, the salesman took one look at his clothing an told him he couldn't afford the car. White profiling at its finest.

You folks who always claim racism, helps to keep it alive.. It may not be the color but the way you act in an establishment. I'm white and had on an old leather jacket ove day while shopping which possibly made me look needy. That day while walking through different stores at the mall, I was followed by store personal and also by the security team while walking between stores. After not seeing what I had been looking for in all of the other stores was a new leather jacket but not seeing what I wanted in all of those places that I visited, I walked to Wilson house of Leather and finally found that new jacket. Best of all it was on sale. I've lost some weight since those days but I still have my leather coat which is a bit big for me now and starting to look like the coat that got me followed that day at the mall. Not everything is color when you get those looks and I would say it's more on the way you present yourself. \n\n Funny how it was during the times of the HURRICANES were the riots and thefts were done by people od color. Not all blacks riot and loot but those who do are a reflection of the thinking of certain races on this earth. Whites are just as guilty but no Asians, Whites Indians Arab or alien were photographed looting during trying times for many. In times of crisis can you depend on your neighborhood?

When we learn to look upon one another with compassion regardless of their race, religion or personal belief's and look instead at the heart of an individual, only then will we make strides to heal and to connect one another across Canada and the world. There's an overwhelming racism borne of intolerance for one another and intolerance is borne in my opinion often of fear. When we don't understand someone, we do tend to make up something to line the box that we force someone to live from but would never accept the same for ourselves. If you see someone being berated, being treated differently then you yourself would accept, you owe it to yourself and to the one being hurt to stand up and to intervene.
