People who only blame immigrants have no idea how low the birth rate is in Canada. Just think how many families with children there are. I am an immigrant who came here 20 years ago i believe it worked out well when we had 200-250k immigrant target per year and reduced when theres economic crisis below 100k for only critically short industries. I know I shouldn't say this but every time I go to Calgary NE Costco, I feel like I was in another country. Many of them would randomly stop in a middle of moving traffic or cut into my path regardless of my existence... I feel I need to constantly dodge in order to avoid collisions. I am an immigrant too but I always observe my surroundings and try not to cause others to slow down because of me. If I need to take a break or stop, I park my cart in a non-busy spot... these should be common sense which is what the people are severely lacking in my opinion.

The numbers used are not ideal, but even at half of that it is horrendous. \nAs far as choosing where to live to avoid a school shooting, I don't believe that any school has suffered more than 1 shooting, and I don't think that any of the schools that experienced a shooting were on anyone's top 1,000 list for where the next school shooting would occur.

My daughter is nearing the end of 2 great years in Canada on an IEC (backpacker) visa from Australia. She’s loved the people, the landscape (mostly lived in BC and Alberta) , and working there…. She picked up interesting jobs, worked very hard, just about made ends meet, has been great. \n\nShe was even offered a permanent job by a major Canadian co last year (she was working for them on a one year role at the time) that would’ve paved the way for her to apply for PR…but she turned it down without a second thought….. for all the reasons you would know about \n\n- Wages aren’t great (maybe 20% less than australia), \n\n- taxes are high (incl having to pay CPP…in australia the employer pays all pension contributions, on top of wages), \n\n- groceries prices out of kilter, \n\n- rents consume most of what’s left…. \n\n- AND, even if you could save a deposit for a house, or shoebox apartment….what’s the point, could never afford it. \n\nShe’s seen nearly all her Canadian friends resigned to their fate of being perennial renters, of being perpetually skint. It’s no life. I personally believe it’s better to give opportunity for skilled workers to immigrate instead of students because the regulations and requirements to meet to work is a lot compared to students. This way you know you are letting capable and honest working immigrants. They won’t be a burden to the country and only fill jobs where there is actually a scarcity. Plus meeting those requirements to be eligible to work ain’t easy so the filtering system will help the country as well avoiding future problems like Canada is facing now.

Went through the pathway of studies-work-residency-citizenship\n\nLet me simplify the story for all of you guys here that lacks immigration intel. \n\n1) The quality of migrants you see here is not what Canada needs long term. It’s not a matter of ethnicity, but Canada needs to import talented and educated folks in medicine, engineering, trades etc. None of these individuals are interested in studying and are either attending 3rd grade colleges/universities to get a work permit and hoped to stay on. \n\n2) Shoddy sales tactics include lying or ‘avoiding stating the obvious’ that could make you lose the deal. This is exactly what the Canadian government did with these people. The Canadian dream was sold somewhat properly before 2017/2018 I would say. Post Covid there was a MASSIVE need of manpower in minimum wage jobs. The government could not afford increasing minimum wage at the time and international students would do exactly those jobs and bring in millions of dollars in tuition fees. The government opened the gates for these strip-mall colleges to take unprecedented numbers of students with allowances to work. These students were sold the exact same dream that a top quality University/college student is sold about Canada. They needed to be used at the time. And if they would’ve been told that their quality of students are only needed temporarily, they wouldn’t have come. The labour shortage at the time wouldn’t have been solved. So a CATCH 22 of the highest order. \n\n3) Canada CANNOT give in to such protests as it will set the worst example of migrant pandering for future generations. The best talent will refrain from entering Canada and more and more of these types of immigrants who do not want to assimilate to the Canadian culture will want to keep on coming.

The number of international students which is 1, 50, 000 and the next number which is 14, 11, 000is such a huge number of international students which will over come and take a total control of every business and work in Canada , thereafter the native Canadian people and their next generations with suffer a lot and the deportation of such huge number will also be difficult .The bettter solution is to stop this king of studies and international studentships to avoid gross complcations in future.

This is what happens when you dont have variety of foreign workers and you dont consider the culture. If you bring a million from one rural part of a specific country, they will gang up and make demands and the Punjab are famous for this even in India.
