You look like nice and reasonable people but come on. Complaining that there is no Islamic Environment in a non Islamic country is exactly the problem why a lot of people want you to go. I am born in a non Islamic country and do not want to live in a Islamic country. Why do other people 1st, 2nd or 10th generation from Islamic countries feel the need to change my country to an Islamic one while you have plenty of places to go. Stop complaining, pack you bags and be happy somewhere else so everybody can be happy. ( My opinion does not mean that I am oke with people attacking you or your children. Hurting people is never an answer. )

Muslims don’t see the part they play In alienating people. Saying all these programmed phrases like alhamdulilah and the whole litany makes you sound like automatons who don’t think for yourselves. If it’s so important to you, you can be Muslim in your heart. You don’t need to be “visible Muslims“. People who love God don’t have to constantly say “praise God”. It begins to seem like an affectation and a way of making yourselves stand out. “Look at us. We are special. We are Muslims.“ If you live in a society where that is the social norm OK go for it, but that’s not the case in Canada. I’m sure you know how much Muslims have been involved in terrorism. That’s not Islamophobia. That is fact. So, that is a big part of people’s reaction to “visible Muslims“. \nThe Muslim community needs to do some serious ijtihad. I’m talking about real introspection where you honestly look at yourselves and your community. Islam is In desperate need of reform. You should be at the forefront of that, but instead you are just playing out the old program which has failed in every Muslim country. First and foremost, you are human beings. The originators of Islam had their own lives, and they created what they did. You don’t have to mimic them. Live your own lives.

I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

Stop capping our resource sectors so much , start ramping up the procurement and processing of those resources . Our processes are way more eco friendly than the other main international providers . It would help drastically reduce emissions from non eco friendly sources while providing our economy with the huge boom it needs to upgrade our housing production and infrastructure. Look at the real stats on our worldwide emissions... Canadas emissions are a tiny blip of the worldwide emissions ... our government acts like we're this massive air pollutant scourge and we just aren't. We can go net zero pretty fast of we stop stepping all over our energy and resource sectors ... then immigration would be supportable ...

I lived in TO for 20 years. Didn’t like the climate much and was looking to move somewhere south but not to the States. Ended up in Merida, Yucatan, purchased lovely furnished colonial house with the pool, former AirBnB, 1km away from the main cathedral. No need for a car. Paid little 6 years ago for the $$ most people can’t afford to renovate their kitchens in TO. Monthly bills are $140 CAD including all the services, property tax, excellent internet, electricity and yes we use AC when sizzling hot outside. The best of all there are some direct flights to TO and we do visit in summers exclusively ?. Overall ….we are born again, the best decision ever. Still love TO but too pricey for us as we need more than $140 daily for survival!

Indians are most blends with the culture and customs of any migrating country! Naturally they do not have any agenda like others like communists, Islamist or Christians or any religious duties etc. This is the one of the main reasons Indians shine and successful wherever they go and perform best, loyal and real Value to host countries. Communists steal technologies and other secrets and export to their country, some come in the name of peace lovers and multiculturalism but they do not like native people and their culture and want to make host countries of their own and make the natives as kafir/slaves. Any country that needs people should welcome and foster Indians to benefit, progress and peaceful co-existence! Western countries, Japan, SK population are fast declining and madly accept any and majority of them are come to destroy the very foundation of their cultures, freedom and democracy - a fatal attraction, may be because of their past colonial Karma to pay their prices! Indians - particularly those who follows native faith & culture are very smart, patient and very tolerant - may look simple and failing but they are the one going to rule the world with their brain, ahimsa and hard work!

I can appreciate what you are saying. I live in Los Angeles and we have many of the same issues and worse in many cases. You mentioned a lot of things that are problems and you are right. What you did not mention was who is responsible for the policies being enacted. My guess is that like Los Angeles, it’s run by progressive liberals who are passing laws that don’t put your citizens first. That’s what has happened in Los Angeles. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to move to a major metropolitan area, check to see who the mayor is and who’s on the city council. Canada is already run by leftists so I assume the apple is not falling far from the tree when it comes to your city leadership. In the US, people continue to reelect these incompetents. People in Canada need to realize, it’s okay to vote for conservative policies.

As a canadian i never thoughg of living anywhere else vanxouver is so beautiful. Growing up govrnmebt started cutting programs and services in schools ans public resources. And kept doing it. \n\nNow they are removinf beautiful homes to build ugly apartments no yards .\n\nThere is not enough public space. Everyone is moving to the city. We use to be able to go to the beach on a weekday in spring and there was no one. Now its packes. To get to the bathroom was almost a block long. The bathrooms are small. Goos for population we has in the early 90s. We need somethings 4x larger now. \n\nIm ok with new comers but if they create a new community in the rural areas. We have so many areas up north no one moves to.\n\nOr lots of space to build new communities up north, not deatroy the current communities that already exist. \n\nWith all the new apartments there is not enough space for cara, no parking and no room on public transportation.\n\nSimply, the city cannot support anymore people. Its unrealistic. \nI worked with a girk who shares a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 other people and she still paid 1500 a month for rent.\n\nThis will soon be like america - run down, extreme poverty & homelessness. As extreme as it may seem, I think mass deportation is necessary, and we treat it like it is; an invasion. Poised to strike at the American economy to weaken our country. Now, if there are so many migrants seeking asylum, then maybe we need to look at what countries they are from and look at the humanitarian crisis in our own hemisphere. If these other countries are so bad, perhaps then we invade them, restructure them, and make them a part of a new alliance. If you leave then you are giving up challenges and trying to find an easy way out. It needs lots of patience and initial suffering for a group of minority or downtrodden people to be accepted within the mainstream societly. I do agree that we need to normalize and promote a simple lifestyle where non essential consumption is discouraged. I am living in a two bedroom place only 546 square feet and it’s too much! A few months ago I ended up getting a roommate so the place wouldn’t feel so empty. This woman had no other options and likely would have been homeless had I not taken her in. I think Canadians need to help each other a lot more, rather than looking to the government and the crime minister. Their high taxation and uncontrolled deficit spending is the main cause of our economic woes.

With all due respect, comparing US and Canada to European in general doesn't make sense(please excuse my words). Compare them to European countries like Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Luxembourg. And talking about countries with more billionaires, you can only do that on per capita basis looking at the American population as compared to these countries, and with that the statistics has proved that Scandinavia has more billionaires than US and Canada on per capita basis. Countries like Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, France Holland and all those other countries limit you because you're not allowed to work more than one full time job at a time, but in a country like Denmark, the wages are higher and you can work as many hours as your strength can and on top of that you get free healthcare, free education, and a lot more social benefits. So these countries come no where close to a country like Denmark. The language barrier is very valid, but putting in efforts to learn languages of countries like Denmark, Norway. Switzerland is worthy than getting a degree in country like America where inflation is out the roof and debt to gdp ratio is over 90%, having to borrow 3 to 4 billion every month in 2023 to stay afloat.. You need to read more on current state of the US.. It's been predicted that in mid 2024 to the end of 2024 5000 people could lose their job every month due to companies shutting down. This is never a good time to relocate to the States! lol

Like you, I know someone happy with their job, location, medical care and opportunities, but they are also very uncomfortable with the political situation - I'll just say it - Republicans. You need only look at Trump and its followers. Guns over lives (including kids), billionaires over poor, religion over others' freedoms (gay/trans/abortion, etc), mass spread of misinformation (Fox news, OAN, etc) and a personal selfishness and anger which was made very clear during COVID times. It makes them feel like they are walking on eggshells, at least compared to Canada where they lived before and people would look out for each other more (even if they didn't know them). They like the weather, job, opportunities, the USD buying power, and their friends, among many other things, but it just feels excessively risky to them dealing with the combinations of these things. I can completely understand why they and others might want to leave the US.

The Punjabi Hindus, baniyas, aggarwals and Jains own the urban economy and are comparatively more practical and forward looking in life. Many of these sikh politicians sadly themselves are involved in drug, own illegal abortion centres and labs, and even coaching centres to send students to canada on fake letters in exchange for a lot of money...\nI want to tell the youth, There is a lot of good opportunity in India. I know Punjab doesnt have much as of now (hope someday one of us can take our experience and setup a startup hub there), but other cities like Pune, Hyd, Bangalore, Mum, Chennai etc are good and once you have a stable job, its quite satisfying. It’s been 5 years for me here and I honestly can say I have achieved nothing in my life yet. It scares me when I think I can’t return whatever my parents had invested in me. The fact is you’ll never have a good paying job in Canada being an immigrant. When I say this trust me I mean it. Most you’ll get is a minimum wage job which can make you survive the life here. Canada has become a bleeding heart nation for war torn countries and third world immigrants. Just like the US, we have switched from a manufacturing/production society to a nation of consumerism. That's why all the jobs here are customer service based. People realize this, tuck tail and go back home. Canada is quickly turning into a 3rd world country because that’s where the majority of them came from, as refugees NOT IMMIGRANTS. Canada is no longer screening for EDUCATED, PROFESSIONAL people who can contribute to Canadian society. Canada has made it so difficult for those who are educated and are professionals to receive accreditation to contribute to Canadian society. Canada no longer ensures there is a Canadian sponsor who pays for the immigrant, to ensure that the immigrant is not a burden on society. When teachers can not make change while volunteering at a food stand for a local craft show, this explains that our education system is junk. Our health care system is run like a well oiled corporation where money stops at the top/administration and never finds it’s way to those who need health care. I was the first generation of latch key kids to go to school with Italian, Croatians, Serbians, Armenians, Jews, Palestinians, Asians and we never saw our classrooms full of sanctioned hate. We never saw the neighbourhoods of any of these ethnicities look like open toilets. There was no gang violence amongst these ethnicities. They had their own community centres, churches, synagogues and anyone was welcome. They were active in the community, they were fantastic neighbours. Decades later we have “no go zones” in our cities and rural communities because of the danger of some ethnicities. Churches and synagogues are locked. Their community centres are locked and monitored for entry. We have lost our way. We have allowed chaos agents into our country and we are paying the price and will continue to do so.

Yikes! Born and raised in Syracuse, NY and after college spent 16 years in Los Angeles until finally moving back to NY last year. Any comparison between Toronto and L.A. I simply won't stand for.....and I really mean that because you have less gun violence, seems like more cultures get along there, plus it looks cleaner. I'd consider moving to Buffalo just to be within an hour of Toronto to take weekend trips. After seeing how the rents up there are close to SF or NYC, def can't move there anymore. There's an appeal Canada has in terms of safety and perhaps better quality of life than the U.S. but frustrating to see housing crisis is even worse up there! I'd hate to see Toronto start to remind people of anything remotely close to California. Def sounds like you need a new PM asap. I always wondered why I had to be here when the snow tilted between 45 and 60 degrees in winter and hit my face at 30-40 km/h.\nquality of food, transportation, service from employees, speed of processing time, etc there were many things that made me really unsatisfied being living in Toronto.\nsame, at the first time I came Toronto, everything looks great. but not anymore \nI'm korean and I feel really unsafe when I go and live abroad. Korea, Japan, Singapore mainly all Asian countries are top 5 in safety all over the world I think. \nAsia especially Korean and Japan have great service, quality of food with reasonable price. I think I don't need to move foreign country. \nmy background is in South Korea but I can say living in Toronto Canada was horrible and harsh for Korean. Because of multiple reasons but the harsh weather is the biggest for me. Feels like winter in Toronto is 7~8 months long if I compare it to winter in Korea. Fall and Spring?? No, they don't have fall and spring and it's all winter. they have snow in early September late April or May. It was horribly hard because the cold air from the arctic and really powerful wind came all together. even though the weather and temperature look a little bit off from Korea, Canada has a much more harsh location with weather. not only harsh weather but they do provide really embarrassing experience such as expensive payment for everything, a lot of factors disturb me from leaking money. I don't think Canada is a good country. my view of this country totally has been changed 3 years ago.

Get a US green card (or move elsewhere in Canada or worldwide) and only come back for visits. Toronto is not friendly overall by any means-people in general are into themselves. On top of that, transit really no longer works like it once did, traffic is horrible and highways are clogged. Plus the city is broke coupled with nutty Olivia Chow and crazy Doug Ford. Need I say more? I btw got a green card and haven't looked back.

Pricing is not a Canadian specific problem. Look at anywhere people actually want to live in the US, it's essentially the same. LA and NY are just as expensive as Toronto. Only difference is there's less people in Canada that live in rural states like Iowa where everything is cheap because there isn't major city for hundreds of thousands of miles. This is all part of late stage capitalism and our inability to see past the short term. Corporations eventually take over if we don't do anything about it and everything becomes too expensive. People stop having kids so the government needs to increase immigration to support what few social systems we have left. Hi Lynn, this is a very interesting conversation. I moved to Canada in 2003 went to college and became a nurse. First of all it was not easy paying for college I was lucky that husband was supporting with the bills as I went to school. So I would say that I have skills that are very marketable. Our combined family income was over $100,000 CAN. We mortgaged our first home which was very basic for a LOT of money. We had our kids and we had to struggle with childcare as most young families do. By North American standard, we were doing good. We each had a good car ( loaned), we made trips to Kenya every so often but in 2016 we decided we wanted to move back home and we sold our home and we did. I HAVE NO REGRETS. There were several things that made us reach our decision. First, I truly believe that for the Canadian system to work as it does, it has to entrap its residents. Even after 10 years of work we did not have money in the bank. Everything we owned really belonged to the bank. The light bulb moment for me came when I evaluated my net worth. A primary school teacher in Kenya after 10 years of work with good financial management will own a plot, a simple house and will start to invest for retirement. After 10 years of work, there wasn't much in the account, our house would need 25 years to finish paying mortgage and to be honest there wasn't much to show for those years of work. Quality of life really sucks the amount of stress will definitely send you to the grave sooner. This is the case for most first generation immigrants. You might say you are sacrificing and building a future for your children but, my observation was since our diaspora children have not grown in Kenya to see the need for money and what life really looks like without the comforts they are used to, they do not have the same drive as the parents so they often do not excel they are just ordinary. There is also the struggle of growing up as a minority group. A lot of our children because they are seeking acceptance will struggle with self esteem, will have depression or will join the LGBTQ community where they get sense of belonging regardless of their colour. The morals are also different from their parents and they are shaped by the society they grow up in. When I looked at what my life would look like if we kept living there, lets say we eventually pay off our mortgage, when we are old and requiring care, our children will not be able to support themselves and support us because they have to work to sustain themselves so we would to move to assisted living or nursing homes. The cost of senior care is not covered by the government unless you have no money. so we have to sell out home which would be old and outdated but still very expensive and we would have to pay $5000-$10000 per month depending on the type of care we need. so as you can see if we ended in a nursing home for 5 years we will have depleted all the money we made from the sale of our home. So by the time we die, we would not have money to leave for our children. So we worked really hard, supported the economy, and die leaving not much at all for our children, we sacrificed our quality of life, and ended up with children who don't think much of themselves or have very distorted morals. I still remember in my mind as we drove to the airport on our way back to Kenya, I thought of the story of Lot. He was pretty successful in Sodom but I'm very sure on his death bed he had lots of regrets why he ever went there. I know its tough being in Kenya but if you have a job or any way to make ends meet, be like Abraham. God will bless you regardless of whether you are in the dessert.

Most of the issues mentioned in the video are common in cities the size of Toronto elsewhere in the western world; I have family/friends all over and they have similar gripes about cities like London, Berlin and NYC. The precipitous decline in the last few years is indeed due to the fall out from COVID, both economy-wise and mental health-wise, and most countries in the world are still recovering from it. It's tough everywhere you look, but I do hope it's a temporary situation that will blow over sooner rather than later. Having said that, one thing that's probably worse in Toronto (and Vancouver) than most cities their size (I know that Toronto is much bigger, but Vancouver is a big city in its own right) is the housing situation, which had already been a problem before COVID in those two cities and it has only gotten worse since so it's now a real crisis that needs the municipal, provincial and federal governments to work together to address ASAP.

You can delete my post or you can except the truth.\nI've been too & have friend & colleagues who have migrated to Toronto from Sydney. Toronto is very similar to Sydney. It has some of the most exspensive housing in the world. Canada & Australia's economy is based on economic growth through mass immigration. The cost of this policy, means you also need to restrict development & zoning regulations to artificially keep properties high. Governments need make your population continually, working as slaves, to pay for basic costs, of a largely welfare dependent society. While your a debt slave, you don't spend your money on foreign products, as you have very little in the way of exsports, to pay for imports. The upside to this, you have many slaves to pay for the never ending welfare, as you have a policy of supporting refugees, single parents & the disabled, over self reliance & responsibility. Mental health issues are largly created by society, they are very rarely genetic. The high cost of living, means, you cant afford families. No strong family ties means, poor mental health issues. When you outsource, what familes once did, like help the the elderly, support your unemployed brother & have children. Replace all what families did with government welfare, instead of families helping each other, replace reproduction with mass immigration. You end up creating enormous problems in society. Problems with mental health & crime.\nNow for your modelling career. In Japan, your a novelty, as you have a different look to the Japanese. However in Canada, for your age what are your best features. You only have one. You have very good skin. However your face shape, is slightly disproportionate, basically, meaning your just an average shape face. You could also work on going to the gym, as your not toned. So basically as a whole, for your age group, your slightly above average, say a 6 out of 10, which is not all that good as 60% of Canada's population are overweight. Now as a model, you need to compete with people who are younger & better proportioned 7,8 & 9's. No such thing as a 10.
