When you seek Asylum, it is from the place you came from and in this case it is U.S.A. which is a first world country. You cannot seek asylum from U.S.A. that is not how asylum works because I came to Canada 30 years ago on asylum and I applied via Canadian embassy in that country.....it took 4 years. Ten years before I got here asylum seekers when allowed to come were on contract to live and work in Winnipeg for 4 years before they can leave province.

I never want to move down in United States first of all they don't have free healthcare they don't have free medication while some medication and their food does not taste like ours I've tried their Pizza Hut that I found was totally disgusting they're McDonald's was totally different also lots of flies in this in the restaurant around where they make the hamburgers and that they're washing very filthy women's washroom overpopulated and you never know when you're walking on the street when you're going to get killed by a gun at least where I live it's a slower pace it's starting to become crazy with the homeless and people that like to make trouble but they're still not that much guns because we don't allow it it's more safe we can still walk on the streets without anything happening happening even at night where I live it's a slower pace the air quality is also better it's not muggy as much as the states a lot of places people here are more friendly but just like it here I was born here

It is significant that your ‘American’ perspective of “some places are bad, but you just need to stay in the good places” doesn’t match a more empathetic Canadian approach. If it’s ‘bad’ for some Canadians we feel obligated to fix that, rather than allow some to prosper, while others are not our problem. I’m 47 years old, black (Caribbean descent) and have lived in Canada my whole life. I’ve lived in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary and visited all over the country. Have never experienced any racism of any kind. Toronto and Montreal in particular are incredibly diverse. Not sure how you would see any overt racism in those places. Yaknow, as a Mexican who's great grandmother came here legally ive always found it odd.. here in America, there isn't allowed to be any places with a specific culture or identity. For example, look at Mexico itself. If you live in Mexico, you are mexican. You'll act mexican regardless. And outside people look at this, and say it's good.. then you get to America, and you have Americans asking foreigners and people attempting to come to THEIR land for better opportunities and all they ask is to follow their customs, cultures, and laws. There are many reasons and many who problems. You can’t just narrow this down to 1 of anything. One problem is for decades children were brought up to believe that when they turn 18 or 21 or when they get a full time job or graduate college it’s time to leave the nest . Why? So you can live the life of a bachelor or bachelorett? Party all night or get drunk and do most things you wouldn’t want your parents to know about. Pay outrageous rental fees for some place you’ll never own. Go into debt and in many cases spend years paying off student loans. Yeah, sounds like a good time. The habit should be if parents have room, stay home, save your money and allow your parents to help build that generational wealth. Pay a small rent to help out a little if you want to and your parents accept it. Some people , if they can marry and stay with their family, at least for a few years. Some good points were touched on. We need solutions! What does this mean?\n\n- We need some immigration discipline. Yes, it's great to let immigration in, especially ones that pay taxes, but it's overburdening both the rental/housing demand (which needs opposing pressure to lower prices) as well as healthcare demand, which is not being properly addressed. Instead our healthcare system is flooded. And it's inefficient and expensive as is already. We just need to tame the number of people we allow in, and grow our ability to self-sustain first.\n- It's too late now, but government policies to give out money during COVID was poorly executed, yet plentiful. When 40% of currency was printed in the last year/two, no doubt we will have inflation. This was never touched upon in the video. Resources/social supports should have been provided rather than just straight up $$$. There was an excess of money given to places they shouldn't have been. We saw a boom in industries like say hobbies and games, showing additional money being wasted where it should have been used for food and shelter. \n- Canadian government is not trying to be as aggressive to retain Canadian companies. We are heavily dependent on US corporations and hence the brain drain as well. Salaries do not compare, especially when remote work is now possible. \n\nWe are already deep in the hole and need to be more financially responsible. What is the policy of that university regarding people on campus being allowed to carry knives ? If it is acceptable then he should not have been bothered by cops. But if not than why should he get special treatment from police ? Weapons should not be allowed in a campus . Be it kirpans or knives ..or any assault weapons . A university is a place to study and have dialogue without being confrontational. A safe place

Build towns that are surrounded by walls give them a small space to live and build factories. Allow these people to have a small check and live and work in those small cities say in the middle of nowhere. Make them work for 1 year in those places and as long as they do good not crime and show up for work and take care of there living space then allow them to become citizens. That way you weed out the criminals and non hard workers. In 1 year you will have a good idea of who should be staying. Also its them paying for there spot and contributing to the us economy. Once they become contributing members of society and they get on there feet out of each check they will take a small amount to pay for all the resources that were used to help them. Also I belive the majority of the ones let in should be women and the young children. If I don't get free help working full time struggling they shouldn't either. Let's make america a manufacturing power house like we're were in the past and the only reason we are a super power now. Also do the same thing for criminals and the homeless teach them worth ethic and how to follow laws instead of giving them handouts to go buy more dope

It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

From 2001 - 2021 trillion$ we're made in profits from the Afghanistan war alone. The profits went to members of Congress, defense contractors, and investors. Nothing went to the American people or even to the nation's infrastructure. The American people's taxes funded those profits. The US government destabilized the Venezuelan government, stole that nation's funds which they entrusted to US banks, then placed sanctions on them because they refused to allow a US puppet regime to run their nation. What's happening at the border is blowback from situations created by corrupt and incompetent US politicians. Our worst enemy isn't some foreign nations. We have far to many problems of our own and allowing illegal aliens that most of them could possibly be criminals and drug dealers as well as drug carriers have been entering our country. The wall will just make them have to come up to the front door and show us who and what they want We can't help it if there country doesn't make them happy. Our country is on the brink of collapse. We don't have the money or resources to help illegal immigrants and our own citizens. We have to make sure that our borders are closed up tight for the next few years until we get our finances back in place.

My heart seriously breaks for these people, you can actually see the grief and pain on some of their faces, trying to escape their situation in their homeland, but damn there's a major shortage of housing already, not to mention it puts a huge financial burden on the US to provide them with food, shelter, medical care, as well as for safety reasons. There's a reason there's processes in place for immigration, or at least there was. It's not okay to let anybody and everybody in the US, why did Biden allow this?

So sad...I would allow a family to stay with me but I know that my landlord wouldn't allow it. I just don't understand why we can't just open up the borders or just let a few in at a time. It's a shame that they have to leave their own country in the first place, smh. ???

You know what, I’m an immigrant too. I came to America in 1988 from a communist country to have a better life and have religious freedom. But it took us more than 5 years, if not more, to get approved and jump every hurdle, every flaming hoop, and else they asked us to do, BUT, WE DID IT! Why do people think it’s ok to be able to come here illegally when others have to Jump through hoops to get here? How to start preparing. \n\nTake three days during the work week and turn off your electric and water. Make do with what you can and write down things you needed and didn't have or tasks that were difficult. After you have this list, research alternatives\nEat, wear and consume cheaper. Choose cheaper meals to create room in your grocery budget to put back food. This may mean using a crock pot, hang drying clothes, using candles at night and opening windows for sunshine during the day etc. With the wiggle room you've created in those bills you now have some money to buy more food storage, medical supplies or invest in a small solar unit. \nMake an edc bag. This is something you will carry all the time (on your person or in your car) that could provide you with what you and your family need for 3 nights. Think about what you may put into an overnight bag if you were to stay at a hotel. This will ensure even if something happens and you're out you're able to shelter in place \nUnderstand how to take care of medical emergencies at home. Remember that in a major event, ems could be down or unavailable for sometime. While this is never the first line of defense in an emergency, understanding how to manage medical emergencies (high infections, deep wounds, pneumonia, asthma attacks, shock, 2nd and 3rd degree burns, poisoning, radiation sickness, torn ligaments, allergic reactions, excessive bleeding) while you wait on help can be life and death. \n Food, water, temperature control are your highest priorities. If faced with a major event where services are limited for more than 3 days, having stored food as well as a way to cook, a way to filter and store water, and a way to keep yourself cool or warm can be life altering. \n\nPlease remember as we are entering or for some of us are already in uncertain times, having this foundation gives security as well as lowers stress. It allows us to feel more in control and gain a more positive perspective on not only our lives but the world. My wife, a teacher here in North Carolina and I, a hard working legal migrant worker and a tax payer were given a temporary visa to stay and work here in the US for 5 years and we need to exit this july because of the US revise law. I do not understand why the US government doesn’t want to give us visa that will allow us to stay long. In my working place, theres a lot of workers(asylum) from south america mostly from haiti and they keep on coming. The number of black haitian are more that the number of combine black and white american. I would say.. this people are lazy, loud, rude, can’t speak english well yet the US government look’s like they prefer them than us.

The US is very lenient towards immigration and has many processes in place to facilitate it. I know that it takes a long time, but there are so many immigrants applying that is it simply not possible to increase the rate of immigration and maintain the integrity of the country.\n\nThis type of assault on the border is not and will never be effective, what are they thinking?\n\nI know that many are Venezuelan, but Mexico is also to blame for allowing this. why allow them enter in the first place? have them apply, wait out side of the country, only those with approved application can enter. Once they're in the country, it's so much harder to deport them.

I have any friends who are from other countries were trying to get their family members here legally through the legal process and it takes them literally 10 to 20 years and to allow people to just walk across the border and hand them work permits, hotel rooms and checks to support them is a disgrace.. these people for the most part do not speak, read or write English, whereas my friends families, for the most part do speak ,reading write English and a good part of them have college degrees who could contribute quite a bit of this country, but are not allowed to come here immediately.. these people should be allowed to come here immediately as it being sponsored have a place to stay and contribute…

If Canada or the US were to charge a fee for permission to remain the revenue would be astounding! I can't think of one immigrant that would refuse to pay a $500 monthly fee to remain and work freely in either country. It has been suggested many, many times. The amount of revenue generated would exceed that of the tax revenue we currently have in place for common Americans by 2030. Why Republicans don't allow this? Because the conditions and rules that most be followed like, no felonies would optimally change the face of who they portrayed them to be.
