But throw in safety nets and go ask Canadians if they want to change for the US system. I doubt most will. As a Canadian who is determined to thrive in whatever environment I am in, I can say becoming a carpenter has been a pretty good decision. Wages are up and I am in demand. Dear Canada,\nI hope you fix the employment problems and stop employers from hiring non-resident under contract for below minimum wage rather than a resident or a local before you start implementing new streams for said non-residents and new immigrants. A lot of you locals are struggling to land employment because of the fact. Employers are taking advantage of this loophole for to lower cost of employments. And it's unfair for us locals and residents. \nIt's just unfair you see, it's not right that employers prioritize non-residents just because they can lowball them and this individuals won't have any issue with or say any word since they are given employment. Employments should be fair. \nThe labor law should have more stricter rules on such things because employers are taking advantage of this very lax rule. I recently watched a You Tube video from a couple, who had never been in Canada, it was quite amazing, think it was called something Southern or so. one of the main things, the gentleman was looking for is they had travelled from the west trough Toronto to the East and threw their arms up, saying, where are all the police, they had only seen 1 cop car in the city on their visit. secondly, he was dissappointed he could see where the hoods were, he wanted to see the Crackheads. I used to love to drive to Ontario and it was SO easy through Detroit, Niagara, etc. But the thing NO ONE is talking about is the ability to get a BOAT or using a FERRY to cross the border all the time. It's so easy it's scary. ALSO there is an area of of the New York to Maine border that is mostly forest and with minimal roads/population. Our God only knows what is going on there. I would assume the increased legal consequences would skew the new illegal border crossings from migrants looking for work so they can raise their kids in a country with more economic oppurtunities to a higher percentage of criminals mixed in.
