In spite of his hardship, in his own country, he was able to save up $15,000 US dollars? Incredible! With that amount of money you can buy a life of a king, down there, why the hell spend it all to come to Canada only to live from paycheck to paycheck? I'd much rather stay where the cost of living is cheap and....and you can save up $15,000 US dollars! In fact, I think I will move down there. He's proven that you can raise a family there and save up incredible amounts of money.

He lived 15 YEARS IN THE U.S. AND STILL CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!!!!! How about no more crutches like ... press #1 for Spanish and #2 for English or having to employ translators and spend extra money on bilingual signs and paperwork!!! Why come here if all you do is refuse to assimilate. People of the country you are illegally going to shouldn't have to change for you ... YOU should change to be in that country. Sorry but this is just another self inflicted sad story.

15 years and doesn't speak a lick of english !? We need skilled english speaking immigrants.. not illegals who think we owe them a living.

Why didn't he learn English for the 15 years he spent living in America? I hope he learns French while living in Canada

Is there a reason someone who has lived, and worked, in the US for 15 years, is being interviewed by Vice in Spanish, and not English?

Lived illegally in the US....his kids have Ipdas ,he drives a car that looks over 20k in price but still goes to canada for a better life.....and after 15 years of living in an english speaking nation he is giving interviews in spanish .....yet he can;t conceive that the US or Canada wont just let him in.

why not just make your stay here legal? stop hiding, pay taxes, gain rights, live in a house and get a job. if youve been hiding in a church for 15 years. youre not doing your family any favors. just do what it takes to become legal. i know its harder said then done these days but its gotta be better then hiding in a church basement for 15 years. plus you need rights, you need to be able to call the police when theres an emergency with out fear of deportation. come on! one time i hit an illegal with my car. destroyed the back end. i felt so bad! i have great insurance and wanted to take care of their car, and make sure they got checked out at a hospital but they refused cause they didnt want to get in trouble. their car never got fixed.... even though I wanted to fix it! i mean come on people supporting illegal imagrants are puting them in danger. they need to be given a path to legal citizenship and stopped from entering with out doing so.

Wait you mean to tell me after 15 years living in the US he still can't speak a spit of english? I'm not American, I'm Asian, and I learned English from watching movies. But for me ain't you suppose to put at-least some effort into speaking the language you plan on living on? I mean if you've lived in the US for 15 years, even with little effort there will be a huge progress.

Fifteen years living in the US and don't speak English! I've spent four months in PR over two winters and I probably speak more SPANISH than these criminals speak English. That's because I have RESPECT for my hosts. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in PR, do as the PR's do...at LEAST try! It's obvious they spent the whole 15 years in an Hispanic enclave.

What an idiot, couldn't apply for legal citizenship for the 15 years he lived in the USA? Couldn't learn to speak English at all? Couldn't go to a college or university and become a skilled laborer?

This guy lived in the US for 15 years, and still can't/won't speak the language. Yet to many this is our problem, not his.\nThey were stupid enough to actually think Canada would welcome them with open arms and wallets. Not gonna happen. Canada has tougher immigration laws than the US does.\nHe left for Canada, now he's their problem. Deal with it.

You were in the U.S. for 15 years and never became a citizen. Did you ever learn to speak English? What about your family. What was stopping you? Please help me understand why you want to live in the U.S. and the benefits but hate this country?

15 years in America as an illegal. Man, I am so tired of these people who think they can break laws and move from one country to another with impunity. The question that never seems to be asked is why are these countries south of the border in such chaos? Why?\nWhy can't you find a better life in the country you were born in? Why? \nYou really need to figure out how to turn your hellholes into productive civil societies. And if you can't, tough. \n\nHere in California we've been overrun with illegals. Of course, that's no secret. However, I think the illegals and the libs here think it's a right of passage if you can speak their so-called Spanish. I say so-called because most of what I hear sounds more like Ebonics than Spanish. As a matter of fact, if you live in California and you're looking to study a second language, you should be concentrating on Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, and Korean. Those are the languages which will have real commercial use. But if you must learn Spanish, please go to Spain. That's the only place I've heard Spanish being spoken.

My parents did everything legally. And I agree that everyone should be legal citizens this man isn't very smart to be living in America for 15 years without applying to become a legal citizen in America

How can someone live in the US for 15 years and not speak English???
|
| 2018-07-21 | 0 |
He wishes he'd bin bettervinformed.Well it is up to a person to inform themselves. IT IS NOT UP TO THE COUNTRY YOU ARE IN ILLEGALLY . I can't get over someone other learning the language of the country after 15 years of working and living there illegally either..Sorry for the children, but not for Jose who has repeated his I legal action in one country after another.Canada gave him a chance and he didn't even show up as asked to his hearing...All this costs the taxpayer who is struggling..

I was amazed to see how few white people live in Toronto now compared to 15 years ago, it's like being in a different country. Although there didn't look to be many hispanics it was mostly middle eastern and Asian.

So he lived in America for 15 years or longer and never bothered learning our language or at least trying to learn our language. I had a girlfriend came from Mexico and didn't know any English she put herself through college she had an English book and a book in Spanish and that's how she taught herself English was by taking English only classes and then going home and reading the books in both English and Spanish to understand . So don't tell me it can't be done because it can if you have the desire to become part of the fabric of America and learn our language of English
|
| 2018-07-02 | 0 |
I would venture to suggest that part of the problem is one of language barrier? He's been in the US for 15 years and he's been in Canada for 2, and even now, he doesn't speak or understand a word of English! If he desires to live in Quebec later, he will also need to speak French? He really won't go far in any English/French language country, if, after all that time, he hasn't mastered the most basic terms in anything but Spanish!

So hes been in the US for 15 years and still cant speak English? Could you imagine living and working in a foreign country for a decade and a half and not know enough of the language to have an interview? Then he goes and finds out canada has even more restrictive immigration policies than the US. All while being a shining example of asylum abuse.

I cant speak a word of English and entered your country illegally. And now they want me to leave. How dare they! \nI would never go to another country to live with out knowing their language. Id expect to fail and not be welcomed. \nWhere the hell did this idiot get $15,000 to spend on lawyers?
|
| 2018-06-28 | 1 |
He lived in the USA for 15 years and managed to save at least $15,000 dollars. He then chooses to go to Canada, putting his family in the same illegal situation as here. Not sure why he left El Savador, but 15 years is a long time. Chances are the reason is no longer valid, so he should have been able to take his family back and live quite well.

I don’t know whether to believe him or call him a liar because if he had $15,000. $15,000!!! in Mexico do you understand the life you could live not saying you would be in a mansion but you would live comfortably enough to do it correctly file paperwork the way it supposed to be done wait your time and then move into America everybody thinks Canada so great but they don’t realize that Justin Trudeau is a lying piece of shit he may say one thing but Canada as a country follow the law that they have set for immigrants #fail sorry you thought Canada was better than the U.S.A

it amazes me how little human beings can care about each other. it breaks my heart to see a man who wants to provide for his family be turned away and thought of as a criminal because he escaped a country riddled with murder. documented or not they deserve better. most undocumented immigrants don’t come here to commit crimes or steal your jobs, they come here for refuge. undocumented immigrants don’t even qualify for welfare programs and continue to pay taxes. the alternative, legal immigration, can take up to 15-30 years of them living in constant fear of death. they are humans and we should treat them as such

I have zero issues with immigrants seeking a better life in another country, being one myself, but a few things about some immigrants baffle me always. How do people expect to be welcomed and accepted by the folks of another country when they don't even bother to learn the language. This guys been in the US for 15 years and can't speak any English? Its not the worse case , I've seen people live far longer 30 or 40 years in countries like the UK where I'm from and they cannot speak a word of English because they choose to live in a self imposed microcosm of the country they came from. \nThey have to understand that it's very insulting to native people and citizens of a country that you want to be treated as a citizen yourself but won't make efforts to adapt to the language and cultures of the country you have chosen to live in, I cannot think of a better way to ostracize yourself than failing to learn the language.\n It would be far easier to have sympathy for your cause if you are able to show that you have integrated and intend to be a citizen of that country 100% and the easiest way is to be able to communicate your cause yourself.

Ok. This guy had at least $15,000 to waste on lawyers but he left his home country to move where it is more expensive to live. Moron. He could have lived like a king on that much wherever he came from. Fix your own countries if you don't like them. Start a resistance movement and ask a foreign power to help. Then maybe you will have a good place to live. But i guess it would be easier to bail and move somewhere better instead of fixing the problems at home.

This is a sad story for this poor guy and I feel sorry for him.But how can anyone live in a country for more than 15 years and not speak the country's language fluently?.It really boggles my mind.C'mon.If I were to live in Germany then I'd make sure that I could speak German before moving over there. That's a crying shame.Shame on him for not speaking English while living all this time in America.I reckon that many of these illegal immigrants from Hispanic communities just don't seem to care to learn the language or to assimilate to our culture and traditions. They give us the impression that all that they want is the benefits that the country has to offer them.I guess immigration on both countries should deport the ones who've been living in the country illegally for many years and can't speak the language or don't wanna assimilate. There's just no excuse for not learning the language during all this time that he had lived in America.\nOn the other hand these people are morons for trying to go to Canada.Canada's immigration laws are pretty restricted and even tougher than in the United States.Canada will never give them a heart felt warm welcome and they should know better. They should know that Canada is a POINT OF NO RETURN.

Living in Latin America is not that bad, well there are parts where you should avoid at all cost but there are places where you can have a safe decent life, most of you just say what comes out of your small little brains without ever even leaving your city your whole life. Its just that this people have lived and been so dependent from your system and in stretching their hands( beg) all this time that they not know what to do now. \n\nHe said that he wasted 15 thousand dollars in lawyer, if it would have been me I could have perfectly moved to lets say Costa Rica or Peru and still have money to buy land. But they really are addicted to this kind of life. I agree that the people in El salvador have made violence to sky rocket because they have not done nothing about it, they left gangs and violence to proliferate and now its just too late for them. But there is still hope in other places in Latin America.

When I saw the title I was going to comment saying that he should come back to Mexico and work in Cancun hotels or other touristic places. I mean he lived 15 years in the USA he'll have a good level of English, right? but he's not Mexican and he probably doesn't know English. No mms 15 pinches años y no sabes Ingles, carnal? ni como ayudarte.

Oh great. This was posted on my birthday. Listen: i've lived here for nearly 15 years. \nFirst thing I noticed when I came here was the diner. Menu was pages and pages and pages. A plate could feed a family of four. \nGet a job with healthcare. It's not so difficult. Come on now. Obamacare has to go! \nCoworkers of mine can't afford it. \nYou are still far too liberal/socialist.\nOh, and right... i couldn't dare live without my Amazon Prime. \nHealthcare SUCKS in Canada. In the US it is GREAT.

Fastest growing religion, BS!!! The mass immigration of people into Europe could be boat loads of Christian's living hidden lives as Muslims because they'd be kill for stating otherwise in there counties. Check your numbers lady, Migrant doesn't automatically equal Muslim and those who are Muslims are not new to the religion only a growing population of children raise under a particular faith can account for new follower's[The fastest growing religion]also no Evidence that Christian's are leaving Christ by the Church load. Also the under reported numbers of Christians in China, which is 15% Christian not 3%. That's over 100 Million new Christian's in China Alone, can account for new follower as they were never reported in the first place. Tell me again, what is the fastest growing Religion in the World.
