4:03\n\nShe's lying. The condo market is absolutely collapsing right now in Toronto. There are no more bidding wars. People in Toronto are trying to sell their condos, but no one is buying.\n\nRecord immigration into Canada, yet the economy is on the verge of collapse.

Im in BC . I got rid of the tenants cuz they would be late. Filled 15 non payment / late payment notices with the tenancy branch and delivered to tenant. The tenancy branch did absolutely NOTHING. 8 months later and loosing $36, 000 I made the decision to never rent ever. I got Airbnb license and am glad I made the right choice. I make the same rental income with no headache, and less use of the house. My two friends who had rental properties just stopped renting and sold them and put their monies into other businesses. Id say if you are renting, sell them and do something else cuz its a no win situation in canada. These politicions know there are more renters to give them the votes.

Why is housing such a big deal? Every city in the world has homeless people. Canada Universities are selling courses to students all over the world giving false promises.

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. I have so many Canadian friends who love me as much as I love them. I know how hard you guys work and I am so amazed at how well you carry yourself through this hard time I unfortunately happen to be Indian something I cannot control and I have been a victim to so much discrimination and hate just because I happen to be born in India it's crazy. \n\nWe are respectful Indians we do exist we do have Canadian friends we do adapt to Canadian values and we work hard for the land that gave us this wonderful opportunity to grow . We have the right to a good life just as much as each and every one of you . We have family we have People we love and we have sacrificed a lot please don't demonize each and every one of us because of the ones who don't know how to behave

Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. Our politicians are selling us down the drain-i.e. all those who are not in the upper middle class or the elites. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE !

As an immigrant who grew up here, I am always judged because I say Canada should limit the number of immigrants coming in the country not because I am egoistic or what but because I think that Canada is selling a dream to people who sell their houses and everything to come to a place where the system has lost its structure. ? I have only been in Canada for seven months now, but I noticed a few things about its economy that led to this mess. I noticed that Canada has no globalized companies, meaning the government only makes a little money from doing business with other nations. Businesses here are lazier than their neighbor, the USA, or even in my country, Vietnam, which could be due to a lack of competitors. Cad also has the biggest forest reserve and largest oil deposit but is the lowest exporter. So I wonder how on Earth it stays in the top 10 wealthiest countries with such lazy activities. Up to this point, foreigners are the biggest income of Canada; this country is truly built on immigrants. To keep the country running, it must attract more foreigners. Without int' students, how much do citizens have to pay to keep schools running? If you view it differently, the government also sells the PR through SV Visa because, let's be honest, if millions of investors have invested, there should be something or at least one globalized company, but there are none. From $75k to $200k, foreigners can buy PR for every family member. It is considered affordable for Asian families compared to the USA or Australia. On top of that, another scam is a carbon tax, which means the government needs to learn how to make money rather than invent taxes and sell dreams to foreigners.

Its also not Canada that is selling the dream. Its recruiters in India, who likely are Indian, running a business in getting their countrymen visas to Canada. I know, these systems exist in many other countries as well, like China.

India owns the UK. Soon they'll own Canada. Stop selling our real estate to India and China!!@

As an Indian immigrant myself, I have tremendous sympathy for Canadians. \n\nThe so called diploma mills were always a danger but online classes during covid meant they could quadruple their attendance (and thus, their bottom line). The degrees offered by these colleges are worthless and that's why anyone who's moved to Canada in the last 4-5 years is finding it difficult to get meaningful employment.\n\nOn the other side, the Canadian dream really is sold as a cheaper and safer alternative to the American Dream. This is especially rampant in the state of Punjab where people from villages sell their ancestral property to move to Canada as students only to find the stalemate that is the job sector.\n\nThis in turn puts pressure on the economy, the housing market, and the welfare programmes. I think the immigration needs to halt for a while. A LOT of students are lacking in technical and linguistic skills to propel the Canadian economy and society forward and they'll need to not be given Permanent Residencies. PR should go to highly skilled immigrants who are integrating into the Canadian society instead of turning Brampton into mini India.

I don’t even necessarily blame the government. I blame the for profit immigration centers in foreign countries that sell canada as this utopia rich land. We’ve been struggling for years and it’s not fair for those who come here being told it’s paradise and they’ll make all the money they want when it’s not true. It’s fraudulent

The guy from India was 100% correct. I've traveled India and seen huge billboard ads to sell students a dream of moving to Canada. But it's totally unrealistic. The higher education in India these days is easily as high quality as education in Canada.

Only businesses gain from the « labor shortage ». Bring more people in = sell more stuff.\nBeing Canadian is not just about contributing to the economy. If Home is somewhere else, go there \n! Take back Canada!

What a contrast. The USA has an illegal migrant issue, and Canada has legal immigrant issues. Unlike the USA, where people are pouring into the country illegally, Canada has created its own problems by importing a lot more people legally than it can afford to accommodate in terms of housing and jobs. Canada could have done a much better job managing the influx of immigrants and international students.\n\nThe Canadian government, colleges, landlords, and business owners are the winners. The government and colleges collect billions in taxes and fees, and landlords collect millions through inflated rent. Business owners get a lot of cheap labor and sell those LMIs for $50k—$60k each.\n\nThe losers are Canadian citizens. Whose quality of life and livelihoods are in jeopardy.

Canada and America just need to focus on two of main problems...which are greed and a lot of people getting in real estate who are either renting or selling at a severely inflated rate because those people in real estate just want take short cut early retirement. If rich individuals or companies create more jobs that are entry level and offer decent salary then rich individuals or hedge fund companies can buy empty land and buy town homes or a tower like apartment and charge a decent rate.

Canada likes selling dreams. I am in Alberta, trying to move to PEI and I'm french, unfortunately when you search, you find out that they don't have lots of jobs. They have designated compagies for the Atlantic pathway, but when you look at them one by one you don't see jobs. They talk about massive recruitment while those who are there can't find jobs and other immigrants are protesting for temporary work permit extensions. Good luck! We never know.

I know a refugee family who both mom and dad aren’t working and has 3 little kids. How they survive in Canada? Money from child tax, pension money because dad takes care of old relatives (actually the old folks were just barely living and in exchange of looking after them the dad receives their monthly benefit), and selling the property of the old folks. This cheating family has now been able to rent a large home and able to travel in Canada and the US, (they have become Canadian citizens recently) without mom and dad working! And the old relatives, they dont live in the large home and aren’t included in any of their travels. Mind you, these old relatives were once working, responsible residents of Canada and helped the refugee family come to Canada because they are blood related. LESSON HERE - be careful of family that will take advantage of you when you get old, especially when you have pension and properties. Be careful who you trust! The nerve of the refugee dad!

Not many people from many country willing to leave their country anymore. Life is way better and improved in those country since Justin and trump or Biden start selling their lands. Hello, I live in BC, Canada. Canada is currently in a very rough state, and I can only hope things will improve soon. One of the biggest issues is the rampant, uncontrolled immigration. The government invited a flood of people into the country without having the necessary infrastructure in place—jobs, healthcare, housing—to support them. Now they're trying to cap immigration, hoping for a turnaround, but it's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.\n\nCanada's drug and crime policies are an absolute joke. I also have an Instagram account where many students ask me about studying in Canada. I always tell them that if they're doing well in India, they should stay there. The problem isn't just with India's education system—it's with the unrealistic mindset of people wanting to come to Canada.\n\nWe see students desperately going from one store to another, begging for jobs that simply aren't there. Some even sell their land or property, especially in Punjab, thinking they'll find a better life here. But right now, it's just not worth it. When I advise others, they think we're living the dream in Canada while trying to stop them from coming. I moved to Canada 12 years ago, and the country has changed beyond recognition.

Pin points why Canada and even immigrants, including international students and temporary works dislike immigrants from Punjab:\n\n- They are rude. They have little to none concept of living in society. They are selfish, they are arrogant, and anyone who works in the serving/retail industry will they are the worst customers ever. \n\n- The level of entitlement is beyond absurd. When the leader of this protests in PEI was told “Canada needs doctors and nurses, not you (the guy graduated from a business program, and works at Tim Hortons still), he responded: “I don’t care what Canada needs, is what I need, for myself”, displaying what a great citizen he’d be.\n\n- They refuse to integrate. They left Punjab to pursue a better life, but they want to live like are still in Punjab. \n\n- They scam their way in. Banks in India will lend them money to come to Canada, they buy their IELTS results. 99.9% of all the students I dealt with who got caught cheating on their exams were from India.\n\n- The people we are receiving in Canada are members of a separatist movement. They have often blocked roads to protest against India, because they want Punjab to be separated from India, and turned into a new country called Khalistan. I highly doubt they would all move there if that actually happened.\n\n- Going back to the entitlement: They often abuse the human rights nature of Canada. My wife and I make decent income - $300k+ combined, but are still struggling to raise 2 kids, pay mortgage, etc. because of the high taxes. My $16k monthly paycheck nets me barely $10k.\nTrudeau has truly ruined Canada: from refusing to sell more natural gas to Europe and Asia, to too many immigrants too fast.\nThough I, myself, am an immigrant, I moved as a teen in the 90s when it was much tougher and numbers were lower.

First of all , Students are not the problem. The poor unpractical courses in private colleges without any attandance is the problem, another problem is refusees and govt. allowed the asylum refusees , so many tourist visa converted into work , israelies asylum seeker , are the problem , students brings almost $60-70000 and loan , sells property , but after study he remains unskilled coz courses offered to them are useless from most of the colleges. problem is immigration system allowed unskilled people , useless courses , PR to tourist visa holders. I say this with a great deal of cynicism but I don’t think we will be able to halt mass immigration, and the reason is old people. Old people vote, and they have money. Politicians respond to the people with money. My parents are in their 80’s and they spend $7000 per month on their retirement home. I’m renting an apartment because I can’t afford a home in Victoria. The cheapest house here sells for $700,000. And so I’ve no intention of getting married or having kids. It’s clear to me that this is happening all over Canada. The death rate exceeds the birth rate. There is something odd about this state of affairs. Immigrants are pouring into the country and moving into multigenerational houses. They’re getting married and raising kids. Two or three generations live together under one roof. Meanwhile, the picture is different with white Canadians who have been here over a hundred years. Older, white Canadians are spending $7000 per month on assisted living retirement homes. Their children are single and renting apartments. We are living in clown world.

Corporations own our government. They want cheap, easily manageable people. They don't want to forfeit the ultra high bonus' they've weaseled themselves into so they will sell out the future of this country for a short term cash out on cheap labour. It takes 15% of immigrants up to 20 years to realize they've been duped and that the cost of living in Canada is too expensive? I'm surprised that the number of immigrants that choose to leave is not a lot higher, and that they don't do it much sooner. Those with marketable skills (doctorates, degrees, etc) are told by Immigration Canada that the country needs people with their skills. However, it's only AFTER they move here that they find out their foreign credentials are worthless in Canada. It's all a big scam and IC should be ashamed of themselves for selling would-be newcomers a bill of goods.

We also need to crack down on the aggressive sales practices of immigration consultants in developing nations like India. Let's not forget the big culprits behind this: the admissions officers of the colleges, who fully endorse these practices to meet their revenue targets by any means possible, all under the watchful eyes of the government and IRCC.\n\nI've witnessed this firsthand. I openly challenge those consultants and Canadian college admission officers to be upfront with prospective and future students and tell them in person, before accepting their applications, that a study permit does not guarantee permanent residency in Canada. Explain the rules behind that and see what happens next—people will stop coming to Canada altogether. Consultants and colleges need to be honest with their prospective students and not just include those important facts in a fine print under a bunch of paperwork. \n\nAnd my god, the programs most colleges sell—useless diplomas that are of no use in their home countries either. They won't even get a job as a busboy using those useless diplomas and certificates back home....\n\nI'd love to talk with you if you like, Harrison, as I'm a former international student and now a proud Canadian citizen.

Canada is one of the least densely populated major countries and the problem for your housing prices is less than 1M immigrants over the past 2years? And you're going to lead your causes of this problem with that? Give me a break.\nSpend more time on WHY building new houses is not profitable enough and is disincentivized. Talk about how incentivizing home ownership as a wealth building vehicle turned into a bubble and a ponzi scheme as those housing investments outpaced other investments. You know who can still afford to buy up houses, hold them, and prevent the market from deflating? Corporations. Shifting taxes that hurt poor people (like income and sales taxes) onto land value taxes would stop most of this. It would become expensive to sit on vacant investment houses and corporations and landlords would be forced to sell them.

As a Canadian citizen, I see that there are 3 major issues at play in this problem - \n\n1) Canadian colleges are starved off funds and do not have a sufficient, stable source of revenue. Hence they seek to attract international students who pay (at least) 4X the fee a Canadian citizen would pay. According to mainstream media such as The Globe and Mail, National Post and others, International students contribute some where between $15 to $18 billion per year in revenue to Canada. This is huge!\n\nSince this is a lucrative revenue stream for them, they have gone overboard and are providing strong financial incentives to education / immigration consultants to bring more international students here. Consequently, many existing as well as new colleges are encashing on this trend and diploma mills have mushroomed in Canada lately. This is ABSOLUTELY Canada’s fault and the accountability of fixing this lies with Canada alone.\n\n2. International students who come here often end up taking humongous debt or selling off their homes/ancestral property to be able to afford their education and hence they feel cheated when the dream they were sold doesn’t match the reality. \n\nHaving said that, International students do need to understand that they are here or a temporary visa and DO NOT get to dictate terms to Canada. It is Canada’s sole prerogative to extend their work visa or not, depending upon Canadians requirements.\n\n3. The Trudeau Liberal government benefits by giving these students extended work permits and a pathway to citizenship as it translates into votes for them. However this is an atrocious approach to winning elections and puts unnecessary pressure on the system. \n\nCanada needs to streamline this whole student visa process and take stringent action against these fake diploma mills, education and immigration consultants luring foreign students. It damages Canada’s reputation.\n\nLastly, extend the work permits of only those students that meet Canada’s labour standards and requirements and send everyone else back home.

Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. These people come in and work hard, odd jobs (not to mention the exceptional skilled ones as well like Doctors, health care workers etc.) which the regular Canadian wouldn't do. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. Ask your conscience, without these immigrants, you wouldn't be getting your late night coffee at the time Hortons drive thru, no one to take your blood works without you waiting several months in waiting, no ways for universities to subsidize tuition fees for the poorer Canadian students. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Where are they to serve you? Where are the so called patriotic 'original' Canadian Doctors'? They are off to US to earn more money. U think they care enough for their home country?\n If Canada won't, somebody Else will accept these people. Hence get rid of ur ego and attitude, it's YOU that needs immigrants more than they need you ?? \nLastly, don't forget your ancestors too arrived here in ship loads from Europe as immigrants, taking away the land belonging to the native Indians who were slaughtered and today live as prisoners in reservation lands... on their own soil. Canada has nothing to manufacture. We just sell fake dreams. Canada is more corrupt than some third world countries. international student were sold a dream, they paid 3 times tuition fee, work three times, and they will pay employers 35 to 40 thousand dollar for Fake LMIA to get PR. There IS NOT a lack of housing in canada , there IS ONLY an affordability problem along with far too much immigration by volume and time frame . Our services and infrastructure (ie; transit services , health care , employment , realisticly affordable housing , finances , etc .) are no where near adequate to accomodate canadians even before the over populating of foreigners . They have been coming here and buying up all the affordable housing during , and post pandemic , with offers far above listed or fair market values , to push owners to sell without question or thought . Following this they stack multiples into these homes illegally and against code , to be able to take up all employment at wages that canadians can't survive on ,forcing them out of employment , homes or both . Once stable and trained to know that business operation , one of their people buy the business and no longer hire any canadians . YES ! TRUE FACT!! How is this accepted ? This is something we could never get away with anywhere .... Selling your country , one property at a time , is only absolute lunacy . They pay top dollar and care nothing about the money , because being that they own most of the businesses , they will get it all back from you within about a years time by raising prices ultimately to do so . Why we have been so run into a crisis within a silent war , is far of that beyond me as we should b lead by our suposed intelligence . There is only right now to react , and correct on this !!
