I don't blame anyone for leaving Canada. Born and raised in Canada. Would leave this country in a heartbeat if I had the means. Canada is nothing more than a poser on the world stage. Life here is not as rosy as many claim. This is why Canada wants all the immigrants to come work here so they can drain all their income in taxes to pay for all the old people draining the system. They need workers at low paying jobs to work double hrs. paying double taxes to pay for senior's health care etc. They are also consumers who will have to spend what's left of their pay cheques to just feed and clothe themselves. Leaving so little left to actually do anything with. As a 5th generation Canadian I have struggled all my life to just keep food and home to live and raise my kids on very little. Now due to what has happened in Canada and the economy, inflation, skyrocketing housing prices, my kids will never be able to own a home in their own country. It's sickening. Canada is cold. Canada is not fun. Least fun because of all the rules on everything. Taxes and fees on everything. There used to be much more fun and things were much more relaxed in the 70's and 80's but now it has changed so much that I'm starting to hate my own Country, my province and the Canadian leadership at this time is the worst in history. And get this: I'm so poor I couldn't even afford to move around or travel in my own damned country! We don't even have a universal transit bus system to travel anymore. YOu have to have a car or fly but be damned if you can hop the old Greyhound and go from Vancouver to Toronto anymore and save a few bucks. It's sick and dysfunctional here.

The main reason they leave is because they usually are not from here anyway. No integrity honour loyalty to any place so they just jump around country to country thinking it will be better somewhere else

The subtle racism you talk about can’t be that bad because these people are still willing to leave their own countries to flock to North America. I was born in Serbia and moved to Canada as a 5 year old. I am very aware that Canada has its own problems, but you know what i say? If you like it sooooooo much more somewhere else............last time i checked you can leave and go back to the country that is better. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Every immigrant I talk to has plans to either move to the US or move back home. Canada offers little as a destination for immigrants. A number of born Canadians are leaving due to high taxes as well. They can protect their wealth by taking it out of the country so I don't blame them.

It's all about perspective. First of all people come and leave every country on a yearly basis. 2nd You are right about the healthcare system it definitely could be much better but it beats living in the states where you could be wiped out with an expensive health challenge that insurance won't fully cover or just covers 75% and leave you on the hook for 25%. That still can be hundreds of thousands of dollars. 3rd you mentioned that it's cold, and you noticed that being black with an accent made you stand out and seem different. Well you have to realize you moved to a different country so you will be different to the people who live there. I don't mean to sound harsh but that's just common sense. As long as you have the equal opportunities and are being treated equal in regards human and civil rights then I don't understand your reason to point out the obvious of being observably different in a foreign land and experiencing different weather or activities. It doesn't make sense to move to a different country but expect the same things you experience in your previous country. I immigrated to Canada from the states and it was a bit different for me as well but I had to come to the realization that I wasn't in North Carolina anymore and I shouldn't expect the country to change for me. That's not how the world works. 4th and final point. Ontario is expensive, so yea you can't get ahead there. Move to Alberta where cost of living is cheaper, Calgary has the most sun out of all the cities and it's typically really cold only for a couple weeks in the winter with decent summers.

For the same reason people leave other countries they immigrated to: disappointment.\nFor some stupid reason, most people go to Canada or other country with an idea of what the country, people, weather, etc. are, but the reality is usually too harsh for them to stay in that place... that also happens a lot with tourists when they imagine a perfect week of holidays in another country and everything turns out to be very different.\nPeople have to start being aware of what the reality may be.

In my opinion there is no dream country in any part of the entire world ...I live in Brasil and we have our problems in with our health system, homeless, violence but also there are small cities here with great infrasctructure and qualitiy of life such as many cities in Canada...I´m considering leaving to have a english work experience ...but is a fact that any government do not get our lives easy at all ! All countries have its issues but seeing some of these things make me worry for my best friend who plans on moving to Canada next year to live with his Canadian girlfriend and it makes me nervous cause he has no real game plan he is leaving his life and family in the states and just go somewhere new so not sure if he thinks it will be an easy transition. Most, if not all, immigrants have gone through rigorous English proficiency tests from reading, writing, speaking. Likewise most of the immigrants have high educational backgrounds, so they’re definitely proficient in English. They may not have the native speaker accent (just like yourselves) but I highly doubt they could be regarded as not being proficient in the English language. What’s the big deal about the English language by the way? among all of the languages, it’s the easiest to master. So I highly doubt that’s one of the real reasons. It’s more on the stupid “not having Canadian experience” thing. Which is really doesn’t make much sense. How would you expect most immigrants to have Canadian work experience? This backwards thinking is among the reason why Canada is lagging compared to other global countries. Only Canada has this rule. That way, it’s limiting its chances of getting the best talents from every part of the world. Because of this rule, highly skilled immigrants are forced to work jobs that doesn’t require technical skills just to pay the bills, until they got fed up for not being able to get jobs according to their high skills and eventually leave Canada for the US.

Leaving Canada as we speak it’s a garbage country !!!

Please stop making Canada sound like 'the frozen north'. Any educated person knows that this is a 'Seasonal' country. Our summers reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times and we can actually sunburn while sun tanning on these days. We water-ski, swim, boat and sail, golf, gold-pan, hike, bicycle, Motorcycle, camp, picnic, fish, sky-dive, drive, shop, tap for Maple syrup and thoroughly enjoy our Springs and Summers like any other normal person and country. Our Autumn's are glorious as leaves turn crimson and gold, with picking all kinds of fresh fruit, canning jars of produce, carving pumpkins for Hallowe'en, making and tasting wines. Our Winters, loved, with some of the best ski resorts in the world; skating rinks--Our skaters won Gold in the Olympics and some of the best Hockey teams, who have also won Olympic Gold, come from Canada. We still toboggan, go on sleigh rides, ice swim, build snowmen and make the occasional Snow Angel, just for fun. We have learned to deal with winter snows--they're called Snowplows, which are abundant and whose operators are extremely efficient! AND, we have miles and miles and miles of uninhabited land--a rare treasure now-a-days! We are Canadian and we love it!!????

This is your opinion author. The thing is same everywhere. You can make joy everywhere you want. You can make friends.. good neighbours... it is totally up to you. I want to leave my home country bcs of low salary, corruption, no gas, no electricity in winter... I want to live in a country where there is fairness, development, best education for my children etc. Why are you not leaving USA or Canada where you are living now? Beautiful and classy ladys... Very enjoyable video. Kudos to you from a Canadian immigrant living abroad. In 1988 in a snowy day, around noon, when returning to my parked car in Square One. Mississauga ON, I slipped and fractured my right hand. The pain was excruciating. Got to the closest hospital emergency room, and I had to leave without being seen by a Dr after 4 or 5 hours waiting, in the most horrible pain I ever felt. I asked but was not given any pain killer. It was not until I returned there that night, that they could see me. They did not do X ray exam, and what they put in my fractured hand cast was incorrect, and the pain continued. Next day after begging for an appointment, I went to a regular Dr office, and she corrected the cast the hospital put wrong. After so many hours I was in excruciating pain without reliable help, made me think and decide maybe that Canada was not what I was heard about it. I had already noticed how expensive living there was. Plus the racist nature of many Canadians, made me realize that I will never have their friendship. I live in the USA ever since the year 1989, and although I absolutely love Canada, I am not interested in living there again. PS> Weather was nasty cold, but the country is prepared to life around that type of weather, so that was not a problem for me. I look forward seeing more of your videos.

Quebec is a country within a country. It's manically French and the people hate English speaking people. It would be best if they would just leave Canada. It's the worst, by far.

I am a 23 yr old Canadian and I agree with everything you said. I'm trying to figure out how to leave and where I want to go. Something about this country feels so soul crushing, and I grew up poor with limited opportunities and it's so damn hard to get ahead. I want to move to the US but their immigration laws are so strict. I'm considering any other country that I can study in but so many of them don't allow you to work while you study so I feel trapped.

People leave because it's not that livable any more. It use to be a great Country. Working hard does not work anymore when you can never own anything. It's the price of houses is number one that Canada sucks.

I do watch many videos about the topic. First of all there's no place like home. As a human we will have tendency to resist to change. Choosing to leave a country whatever the reason will always be hard, you left a culture, family and so many good things. Diversity in a country like Canada is a good thing sometimes because somewhere somehow you find link to home. Imagine as a French Canadian like I am, I am consider as an immigrant in my own country. The natives came first from Asia, English took over the country which left us with no country we can call home. Many immigrants will say that French is an obstacle and don't understand why we need laws to keep it, we took our place following negotiations with the native not by conquest and always need to fight to keep that space because we're not making babies anymore and do need immigration like the rest of the country. That being said it brings the sensitive topic of jobs. There's types of jobs you do need Canadian experience, in Canada the construction codes are different from even a region versus another one. Do you know that St-Lawrence river is sitting on a tectonic plate and you need to construct a building which can resist a earthquake? What Canada need to do because we do lack of people on those job, is to provide fast track to help them having Canadian experience. They don't need anatomy courses, human here are pretty much the same but they need to know what medication is legal in Canada. Finally, all is on setting expectations, don't expect to feel at home in here, it take in average 3 generations to really feel at home, so be ready to feel pushed aside, be ready to live in a area where you will find mostly people of common cultural background. You will feel left over and pretty much alone. The only solution to be happy in here is embrasse change, go out of your comfort zone, embrace the local culture, talk to people from different backgrounds. There's a difference between multi cultural and integration. Sharing is caring, share your culture and your food, and most of all don't think you have the best way of life and other people don't understand. When you think everyone is wrong is usually a sign that you're the one who is wrong. Racism weirdly don't have a culture, a race or a religion, it's individual.
