The fact that Canada is horribly unaffordable and you can't just walk in and get a job as a doctor, is not exactly a secret. Did none of those immigrants bother to actually do a bit of reasearch before they came here? Or did they come based on the word on the streets that trudeau loves to hand out free money? When my parents came here they consulted friends that were already here and ensured jobs were secured before they stepped on that boat. I have family that simply moved from one province to another that did a deep dive on housing, labor market, cost of living and health care, and secured a job, before moving. The immigrants now just think they can step out of the airport and be handed keys to a new home and their preferred job. Their fault.

Yes I agree Canada’s prosperity was build by emigrants but there is a “but” by emigrants from Italy, Ireland, emigrants from Eastern European countries skilled workers, housing was booming. Now Canada gets 1/2 million of Amazon workers from India, Home Depot, Pearson Airport. Canada use to be multi cultural now is becoming one culture.

This has been building for at least two decades and I'm surprised that only now people are talking about this. There are few reasons anymore for quality immigrants to come to Canada. The only people coming here and staying are people coming from God-forsaken places that make Canada look like paradise, or wealthy investor immigrants who buy property here and maybe only live here for six months of the year.

I love Canada, especially Toronto, my home for 20+ years. But I totally agree, in the past 5+ years, since 2015/2016, I noticed lots of changes to terrible, and never the same anymore. Although, I'm still very positive, there are still things that are amazing (i.e. events, volunteer opportunities), with extra caution, and visit other cities. Just living day-by-day, count blessings, focus on positivity, appreciate, and be thankful.

Canadian born and raised nurse who trained in Germany. Won’t let me work in my home country because apparently the German standard of nursing isn’t on par. Funnily enough my mum trained at the same school as I did but came to Canada under Harper. Was allowed to start work straight away and is now in high acuity and teaching nursing students.

America presents harrowing & too limited pathways to obtain just work permits/residency, except you won a green card lottery or something; don't even talk about the asylum program. Immigrants with countless stories of been exploited bcos they had no other alternatives than to get married. Thus lots of people moved to Canada with more friendly immigration assimilation policies. America may have the bigger economy but nothing beats canada in getting your papers without been stuck in a situationship(immigration loop, marraige web etc) & as we know your papers unlocks the full potentials & provisions of that land.

Another problem is that huge numbers of Eastern Europeans especially Russians and Ukrainians are in Canada a large number of them illegally. Someone from rural Canada was telling me that Canadian farm areas are full of these Ukrainians Romanians Bulgarians Slovaks etc that have entered illegally and are staying on farms out of sight and working under the table. Also large number of people from UK came over as tourists didn’t go back and are hiding in Canada illegally. Some of these British tourists are now homeless on the streets adding to social problems in Canada.

Canada should concentrate more on its economy and citizens than world issues, so can be independent and not relied on other countries. One thing I don’t think that you have truly grasp Tyler is that you keep referring to how it’s not so bad having to pay for health care. They take it out of your pay or it’s only about 3000.00 to have a child.\nIn Canada, we pay NOTHING. No deductions from pay checks, no extra for medications in hospitals, no underlying charge for illness or childbirth. NOTHING!! So whether you only pay a little because it’s taken out of your income or you have an illness that requires extended intervention, you’ll still paying! Let me reiterate Tyler. We pay NOTHING!!! Visit visa yo right and correct thou there other channels, you could enroll for a short course at any college or university, after you can b legit to apply for a work permit.. You could give in for asylum, looks pretty a long process but also if done tactfully that's one of the most legit ways. Alot of emigrants have different sucesful stories. Still if yo in Canada you can look for work and work illegally to fend for the small probs as u pursue legit paperwork its possible 100 percent thou risky
