Why would any doctor, lawyer, architect or a well paid employee in their respective country come to Canada to work as a labour? Not to mention the expensive housing costs in cities like Toronto and Vancouver.

Canada is not livable anymore. For new immigrants it can be only bypass country. Live in Canada for 3 years, apply citizenship and get Canadian passport on 4th year of stay and move to USA. Settling down in Canada will be huge mistake for any new immigrants, life will be depressive hell paying overpriced mortgages & high taxes but in return get substandard education & health system…

Mom, maybe you saw private college but if you want to see good college, like conestoga, Humber, Guelph campus, doon velly camps, or more others. Europe is a scam first you come and you need to learn the language which already you started in your country then working and working and your salary can just pay your bills and if you are lucky you have some money to go for a cheap vacation ... after that if you want to move to another country in Europe it is the same like to move to the US ... the schengen area is good only for citizens of Europe that is all any reisdent is not allowed to work anywhere else iit is like a prison to use you and then throw you back to your home country when your visa is canceled .... they have many rules many laws many bureaucracy it is a nightmare i hope i move out to canada very soon and i will never comeback to Europe even for a holiday !

When I had my kid in Canada, the only thing we paid for was parking. My cousin, who lives in Texas, paid 5K for each of her deliveries, even though they had great HC insurance. My son went through a whole 4 year, plus 1 year Co-op engineering degree for the price of one year's tuition in the US for the same program and he's gainfully employed. I also got 6 months maternity leave 26 years ago, and now people get 1 year.

Never understood why would anyone ever would want to immigrate to Canada. It was never some great industrial hub or anything. It's economy only prospered because of ridiculous low population compared to it's landmass size and lot's of natural resource like gas to sell that is it. But large scale jobs can only be created in a country when it has huge industries producing and making stuff.

The federal government invites millions of new immigrants to Canada before the provinces build infrastructure to retain these immigrants. It's not that complicated. The federal and provincial governments need to get on the same page when it comes to balancing the volume of new immigrants against the volume of new infrastructure to house them so we can maintain an optimal balance.

I also think Canada has a big advantage that they don't have to deal as much with the illegal immigration as the US does so they could let in more legal immigrants

As a Canadian who never lived in the US but visited often, gojng back again. There are p!aces in the US that we love i.e Arizona on the top. Of course I would keep well secured weapons in my house if we retired in AZ. No p!ace is completely safe especially major cities. Keep this in mind as well that Canada is sparsely populated compared to the US. I would not raise my kids in any major city in Canada either. I have no problem with our friends in America. We choose not to hide but experience life even at some risk.

My cousin can now forge his medical credentials and then drive for Uber deliveries so he can then own a house via Shadow Banking (The Realty companies will advise the best ones) to rent out to 20 people immigrating to Canada to help pay for the mortgage and his vacation travels back home.
