That's my plan man. I live in India. Move to Canada, Get master's degree, become a citizen in 5-8 years then find a job and move to either France, Germany or even Barcelona.

My two applications for PR have been rejected. As it turned out later during federal court hearing, it was by a mistake at the IRCC's side. I had to study and work in Canada for 12 years before becoming a Canadian. It is so frustrating to know some people just get their status illegally. Or even legally - some get their PR as a gift from the government even before coming to Canada.

All Canada not only Vancouver it’s very isolated.\nPeople can’t afford to buy a house because the house marketing is 3 times the price compared to USA. The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. You have to wait (to be true emergencies are different, they are good on that) you have to wait like 12-24 months to get an appointment with a specialist (gynecologist, etc) dental is not covered. \n\nExcuse my English I know it’s not very good but I love your video and I had to left my comments

It's an immigrant quota goverment tax scam. They need self sustained educated immigrants to raise tax money for the locals without being a burden for the government. Once in Canada they don't care how you do. As far as technical or high pay occupations they are controlled by unions which make gualifying degree holder immigrants pay exorbitants amounts of money and go though so much red tape that make it almost impossible for them to practice in their field. Their degree qualifies them to come to Canada, that's all. Once in the degrees even if better than Canada's standards, they are worthless. Engineering, medical fields are run by unions whose only purpose is to ensure Canadian born high payed proffesionals in those fields and others are guaranteed a lavish life through an endless pool of ever growing customers for a short list of elite board certified providers. It's a scam, a well thought one red seal approved by Ottawa. Get your foot in the country to escape the hell in your origin country, work through towards your citizenship which is always handy to have and bail out for better opportunities else where outside Canada. My two cents anyway.

Every province has good and bad qualities, except Ontario. I lived in Ontario on and off for about 20 years. Not one good thing comes to mind about this province, not one. I've also lived in Quebec and Alberta, both great. Ontario is like the armpit of Canada, it just stinks, definitely because of the government overreach, extremely high tax robbery on everything you buy, very high cost of living compared to both Quebec and Alberta. Both Alberta and Quebec are wayyyyyy cheaper to live than Ontario, and to be totally fair, the people in Ontario seem to be the most narcissistic i've seen within 3 provinces i've lived in, and with the worst roads. So much car repairs every single year from just driving on the main roads, which are basically just pot holes because they line their pockets with the taxes instead of using the money to fix the roads. The people in gov make so much money, there is none left after their payday to fix the roads or build any parks or things for families. Ontario is actually a bad place to live, especially with other good options available, it's the only province i don't recommend moving to if you want a decent quality of life. You can't even find a doctor here unless you live within or drive for 2 hours to get to the city. It's extremely inconvenient and expensive for no reason other than tax grabs and high fees for every single thing you have to do in life, there's a high fee for that in Ontario.

Oh man, this all sounds very worrisome...\n\nI've been working together remotely with one of Sony Pictures Imageworks's supervisors and she's been super happy with me and my work. She's switching companies soon since she found an even better opportunity elsewhere and is already making steps getting me on the team. She starts the hiring process in August.\n\nShe said I should fix a holiday visa and that if the company is still happy with me after 12 months they would most likely sponsor my stay. So yeah, everything seemed pretty solid!\n\nBut now that I'm watching this video I'm getting scared that I might be missing something that wouldn't allow me to work there. Let's not forget the fact that houses are made with cardboard. I came from a 3rd world country and never had this issue surprisingly. But unless you have a detached house, you can hear everything your neighbors say and do - there's zero privacy. I'm surprised this is even legal honestly. This might be what I dislike most about Canada. I'm paying almost $2000 per month and still have to listen to neighbors get intimate, argue, play music and everything else. Houses are built very cheaply here.

I know of a few taxi drivers that have law degrees or a PhD in the way they get treated is astounding the young need to be educated not just the Young the ignorant people say they're taking our jobs they're taking our jobs because they're work ethic is 100 times better in some cases in most cases people that are from a country that has benefited them wouldn't know damn thing about a hard life. Quebec...get right. I was born in that hell-hole and as an English kid growing up in the highly separatist east end of Montreal my childhood was miserable. The french are so bent on having their own little country they treated anglos like dirt. Try driving east towards New Brunswick and stopping anywhere to get food or whatever, you better parlez the francais or you'll be looked at like you a criminal. Honestly, I don’t know how to describe and definite my experience. I came to Canada for my university education by the end of 2013 after I finished my high school in my hometown. That was my first time to go abroad, and living in a totally strange country all alone. New surroundings. New friends. New culture. English speaking. Everything is new for me, and I cannot figure out how I feel at that time, because it’s so complex. Both excited and afraid. In the next few years, I traveled among several different cities. Winnipeg. Vancouver. Toronto. I met many people and experienced lots of things. Some were good and warm, and some were not, and the worst thing was I found I cannot get used to my life in Canada. I don’t mean bad, but I still feel I’m an outsider. I cannot get in. Neither my life nor my schoolwork. So much loneliness. I left Canada and go back to my hometown by the August of 2017. There was nothing strange for me at first 2 years. Everything looks normal, but by the flying of time, I found myself cannot stop missing the old days and experience in Canada. Even the worst part looks so beautiful. I have no idea how could that happened.

Most racism exists within India, people get killed based on their religion, caste and what not. Being yelled at is probably the least of the racist behavior if you been in India. Don’t come to Vancouver Canada to study unless your family is rich. I run a rental business here and LOTs of international students either live in basements or struggle hard to come up with rents. I don’t blame them cuz this city is hell EXPENSIVE. Also even if you get a degree from UBC you are gonna get a job as a bank teller that pays like $16/hr if lucky. People suffer from seasonal depression for about 4-5 months/year. Better just stay in your country if it is not in the war zone and has relatively good health care system. If you can succeed in Canada you can do it in your home country. Not trying to discourage anyone but just wanna help people make rational decisions?

Ok, as a Saskatchewanian, going to have defend my prairie home a bit. The crime statistics always bug me because we get labelled high crime in some places. Except those stats go off per 100,000 people so with a population of only 1.18 million the numbers are slightly bias. Ok rant over. I live in a home in the suburb area of Bangkok-Thailand and also live in a condo in the heart of Bangkok, both have the same psychological vibes as you showed in the video. I don’t even know my neighbors on the same floor at my condo, I don’t usually see my neighbors at home either. I’m now too get used to with the independent lifestyle, when there are a lot of people ir communication around I usually start to get headache ?. But of course, for me the nicest thing is to take my mother with me if I have chance to live in abroad ❤️.

So true 100%!!! Your fellow international friend from Serbia here. I was forced to leave home in late 90s due to civil war there. I thought America was dream and paradise where all problems cease to exist. Little did I know America is living nightmare and hellhole where real problems actually just started. Even financially wise, half of the USA population is so poor working for pocket change. Nothing left in the end of month. Everything is dark, soulless and tasteless. This is damned land. There is no life. Just work sleep and paying bills. There is no outdoor life. Even people you know you get chance to see them every 3 weeks. Everybody lives spread out from each other and work different jobs, different days and shifts. It's impossible to make friends. It's impossible to get normal girlfriend or any girlfriend. No human connection. No passion, no enjoy. Neighbors don't even talk to neighbors. Just emotional pain, loneliness and depression that can lead to SERIOUS psychological issues and consequences. While experiencing all this I actually thought something was wrong with me, like feeling of being under black magic attack, that's how serious it feels. I always wanted to live here and to see people from all over the world and hang out with them. However people here share same mentality, they are very reserved and alienated from each other. Nobody cares about each other here. People are also very close minded and hang out in their own groups like in prison, whites with whites, blacks with blacks and so on... People here don't realize they became androids and modern slaves. They put money first and left behind family, friends and love. It's best never to come here, you have to be an idiot if you think happiness exist in America. Stay on your own land.

The re qualification process is complete joke why should people have to retake exams?Compare this to the EU , there your qualifications are recognized in every ALL the other countries within the EU. Engineers need APEGA membership before they can practice even with very high qualifications. The cost of living when compared to wages is another big issue. So yes people are leaving and rightly so the situation get worse and labour shortages will increase as baby boomers retire.

What more to those who live in more isolated parts? Imagine not having neighbors Lol. What I hate here is that you can die on the street without others giving fck. While mostly on Asia, you collapse and all are flocking over you, help you, get you an ambulance and even stay with you until everythings done. I have been to many different countries. Seems people pay rents or mortage and only go in the house to sleep in many countries. Families all live nearby. Being a single parent here is a hard life. Even family wont help you much of the time. In countries I have visited..most life seems to happen outside, groups of people outside talking or walking around, lots of life and activity. The USA is the land of the lonely, broken families and people strung out on drugs or drunk. If you are not watching your child, they can be kidnapped. Many people dont allow their kids to roam around alone. I crave to go to other countries and enjoy. I love the USA, dont get me wrong. Saturday nights here, Tucson, 1000s of people are partying downtown.. so there are things people do communally here, partying is one of them. Some sporting events as well.. huge crowds of people go to various sporting events, football, basketball, baseball and hockey are the main ones.

I keep telling immigrants this. I want to get away from my own country (Australia). The western countries are so weird now. The only thing I think people could be coming for is the money and products. But I think that is on the way out too. Honestly I like this place..looks very quiet and peaceful..I'm from India and we also have lots of places like this especially government quarters or private industries quarters but the only difference is that we have more trees,houses were fenced and people are more social..I m blessed that I spent my entire life in such areas instead of some overcrowded congested places in Delhi or Mumbai loll..you will get to see the exact scenario especially during the day time in summers when people tends to be indoors but they comes out in evening everyday hanging chatting and playing around..and if you have some good friends then you really don't need any schedule lol..i still remember me along with my cousins and friends use to roam and wander around the locality even in the daytime in the scorching heat of summer when everyone was inside loll and we used to play volleyball or badminton till midnight..it was such fun and beautiful life..but unfortunately these days people are getting more reserved and more into themselves..

Block parties, cook outs, neighborhood meetings, bus trips to the beaches, weddings and Saturday clean ups were all apart of our past community's. Yes some still exist. However, anytime Blacks in America have demanded equity, justice, education, health rights, human rights, and fair housing, we are met often with a back lash. Suddenly, rents go up. Houses have doubled or tripled in increase. Crime waves have made it almost impossible for people to come out and relax freely. Political changes have also played a major roll. Neighborhoods have been redlined. Even where one goes to vote has been moved. White racism and fear, entire industry's have moved put of key areas. So thete is a natural break down. Neighborhood meets come to a end and different organizations from schools, to planting trees to parking all get affected due to such changes. Local small businesses that knew each family members also close up and leave. Its not a question of oh you have everything you need in your American house. That is not it! Its more complex. The lack of kids playing out front or the older ladies keeping watch have disappeared also due to no rent control policies.

Most of the USA is an empty suburban wasteland. It's very easy to get lost there, all places look the same: a Walmart here, a taco Bell there, parking lots everywhere. Absolutely no pedestrians, not even sidewalks in many places. Very depressing car-centered paranoid lifestyle. Not for me at all.

Life is good, you keep watching even the awful movies from your country, connect with the friends back home and read every news bit longing and comparing the life at home…that is the life we lived\n\nSuddenly, after my husband’s death, the light bulb finally turned on and moved to India to raise my son 6 years back. The impromptu play dates, relatives and friends dropping in, the casual conversations with the milkman, newspaper guy, the screaming noise when the kids are getting out of school, friends volunteering to take your kids for a weekend getaway… these little people connections are so important. \n\nWestern countries economically developed. But hungry for love and connection..

I'm not 100% regretful living in Canada. I managed to get a full time job even without going to College or University. The more money you make, the more taxes you are going to pay. You have many opportunities if you are not lazy. Prayers work all the time. Just enjoy what you have and not be so materialistic, you will survive if you have faith in yourself. Spend less and save for rainy days.

The lingering and deeply embedded poison in US/Canada is suburbs. This not how humans have ever lived, or should live. It isolates you from entire human society and only outlet is commercial spaces. It's built to optimize consumption. You absolutely require a car. You sit isolated in a box then get out b$$y more and then get back at home to watch ad$ on TV. Contrast this with how humans even now live in a society that's normally built. EU, Middle East, and old Asian cities. First residential and commercial areas aren't apart by 15 miles. Instead much of the first floor is filled with appropriate commercial shops and offices. Then most streets are walking/biycycle streets, you can bring a car in but wont use it as a road to get to other side as streets are not straight and crampy. You have 5-8 blocks of buildings with walking streets in between them, these clusters of buildings are then surrounded by car roads. For 80% of things you can leave house and walk 5 mins to get them. Groceries, accountant, pharmacy, hardware store, computer store, mobile phone store, ice cream shop, dentist, general doctor, beauty saloon, barber....... all in walking distance located at first floor. This layout promotes cohesion between neighbors, builds community, builds famliarity, provides safety, kids can play in streets as there is no traffic, and it's not unnatural to have social circle of 30+ people due to this. Back to suburb... only natural human connection you are gonna get is church, walmart, parties, and once you leave college/hs... you are done.

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.

Totally agreed. I came back from Canada in 2019 because I was getting all kinds of panic attacks due to loneliness and I also have gained so much that I got into depression. It’s been 3 years now and I am still in India and now I have made my mind like the moment I start getting panic attacks I will either come to India or go to Australia and stay with my sister . Sadly I don’t believe in Canadian marriages as these are short lived marriages. So loneliness hits me even more but the better part is I am single so I have some options to escape from lonely life.

7:20 with all due respect, I can't help but witness cultural superiority when I visit places like Bampton, Mississauga and Scarborough (unfortunately and gradually more and more of Toronto and GTA)! Don't get me even started on Toronto-Dubai flights! I'm not racist, but when I travel/immigrate/visit somewhere, I respect the host's culture and manners and try to mirror them as much as I can. I'd call myself rude too if I don't!

as a Canadian born and bread I am sadden to hear the challenges of new comers but there are a couple pieces of advice I can offer. even Canadians have to build references at adulthood. there are ways to start out. volunteering provides not only references but a sense of contribution and and community. educators and agencies you engage with as do religious institutions and any organizations you may come evolve with for references. as far as the climate dress in\n layers, invest in sturdy boots with good tread in the colder months and to get outside and learn not only to embrace but enjoy the colder months. hike the trails. the trails year round. you can pick up a cheap pair of grippers for your boots in the sporting goods department of any Canadian tire. pick up a cheap toboggan and slide down a hill. snowshoeing after a fresh fallen snow requires endurance but very little skill. its lovely how quiet how still and silent the woods are in the winter. how bright and visible the winter landscape is at night and how lush and green the woods in summer. if in Ontario definitely visit the falls. you can find culture and history in both Montreal and Quebec especially old Quebec. most people in both are bilingual in French and English and even a word or two of French is appreciated and you can be sure of a response in English.youd also be surprised at how possible it is to communicate even with a language barrier. if you are close to Toronto, you can explore many different cultures in both neighborhoods and events. Eh we were all in the same boat as these people or our ancesters were. some of us were taken by the British and forced to come here. So stop whining and be polite to our guests. the government should be building towns on our North shore so we can start selling our resources and Canada could b e a very wealthy country. But too many that have been here for generations still hold their hand out. Even taking from our country for crimes committed years ago by some one thats been dead for years . and it wasn't them that the crime was done to. I will take snow, cold and all the rest before desert heat. You can get severe depression from constant heat, sunshine. Anxiety and depression are a result from super high temps( Dog days of summer,) Try 9-10 MONTHS a year over 95. I have tempt 134-137 19 times on my property in 12 years. I have 87 trees planted and a misting system. Very hard for pets, and even farm animals. Known fact severe heat much more dangerous for people than cold. When it rains here, you get lightning strikes( massive fires), massive winds. Very few days you can use an umbrella and walk in the rain. I can go on. The desert is massively depressing, very ugly and very few scenic places. Plus tweakers. Lots and lots of tweakers. I love Canada. I have spent 22 years here( desert) Lousy on health,mental and physical. Beautiful place. Beautiful people. Love you Canada

Vancouver is brutal, in hospital as a single mother they wouldn’t let me get a house because there was no man. It’s like if you let your child walk a block they take it away. In my opinion there’s a lot of bullying to single moms. Can’t even get a job.

I love Quebec also but like any province it has its flaws, we are governed by 2 gouvernements who hate each other so both fight about everything,we pay taxes to both these governments, the only way you can attend or send your children to English school is if you were born here(canada) and someone in your family went to english school, so if you are french or an immigrant you have no choice in the matter you are going to french school, we were voted the most corrupt province a few years back, you can do anything you want though….as long as you paid for your permit to do it, wanna ride the trails on your atv 300$, wanna ride a motorcycle anywhere between 600$(for a cruiser) to 1700$(sportbike), growing cannabis is illegal unless you buy a 600$ permit then its ok. But even with all its flaws its still an amazing place AND we have maple syrup ? oh but if you make some don’t forget permission from the Federation to sell it cause they can impose massive fines all the way up to seizing you farm. But really its not all that bad…. Crap gotta go it’s curfew time don’t wanna get a 1600$ fine for being out past 8. \n\np.s our Poutine isn’t the one starting a war

As a very proud Canadian, it is more than a little insulting to listen to this filmmaker keep harping on the cold. Winters in this country vary depending on where you live. I live in southern Ontario, for example, where we NEVER experience -40. Maybe in the Arctic, or the Prairies from time to time, but -40 is unheard of for the majority of Canadians. They don’t even get snow in Vancouver most winters. Stop playing up silly stereotypes.
