This man is responsible for the pain his children are going through.. not the countries standing by their laws to protect citizens and legal immigrants. If you know something is wrong and you do it anyway how do you then blame someone else for the consequence? Aside from this.. when do people start taking a stand and making positive change in their own Home Countries? So many of these people support corrupt leaders that promise to give them all their desires and then when things fall apart they want to flee. The problem in this world is people refuse to take responsibility. It’s always someone else’s fault. If we allow people from other countries to neglect our laws our country will fall as well. Wake up.

They get 50k and then can apply for social benefits like other Canadians even though they’re NOT Canadians? Their kids go to public schools, and probably get free lunch and other things, at the benefit of tax payers. Asian immigrants are a different breed. You're supposed to have an emotional response to this and reflexively demand that these individuals get to stay despite the fact that they broke the law to get in. I feel bad for his innocent children to have to go through this. You want to live in another country, you need to follow the law like every else. You learn the language, get the same I.D. We all have to have , and be treated the same as if any American were to illegally cross boarders! What we have to go through just to have identification here should be no different for anyone else! If women are really given a higher status in Islam, why is it that under Islam a woman's testimony is only half that of a man's in Sharia court. A Muslim woman does not have the right to divorce if her husband refuses but the Muslim husband can divorce her anytime and can even marry as many as four wives but the Muslim woman can not. A Muslim woman inherits only half that of a man's in her family under Shariah Law. So how can she say that woman are given a higher status in Islam? More importantly, why is it that a Muslim woman who defies her parents especially in forced marriages become victims of honor killings? Why is it Muslim girls are subjected to female genital mutilation in most if not all Muslim countries?

Why do some people think their situation is more dire or more important than everyone else's situation? There are thousands of immigrants from all over the world who are trying to enter Canada the legal way. What does this say to them?

Im a Canadian citizen (born in Toronto) who hasn't lived in Canada for over a decade. I left and declared non-resident status. I visit nearly every summer, spending around $8-10k a trip as well as sending money back to support my parents in Ottawa. I get nothing from Canada, and rightly so. I have to purchase my own health insurance when coming back. That's completely okay with me because I haven't paid into the system for over 10 years. How in the hell is someone who hops over the border with no previous ties to Canada entitled to ANYTHING though? They should be shipped back to their country of origin and duties assessed on any imports from that country should be raised to cover those costs or some other method of recouping that money should happen.

For me , in UK, I find a Muslim woman not wearing a hijab is more approachable. To see a full face is important for interaction.\nNothing justifies verbal abuse of course.

Important thing for those watching to keep in mind is that every black person has different experiences across the country. You'll have areas where blacks are racially disadvantaged and discriminated against, and others where they are equal and simply seen as another normal human. There is no reason to down-vote this video, it does not lie, it only highlights important differences in US vs. Canada immigration systems. The Canadian system is better for Canada and would likely also be better for the US.

There are many problems with anti-immigrant rhetoric and one of them is the classification who is and who isn't an immigrant and the question of when does a person stop becoming an immigrant and become a Canadian? A significant portion of people living in Canada are first/second/third generation Canadians and so, how do we classify these people, are they immigrants or are they not? And what of their parents/grandparents who immigrated, are they? It's very important to note that without their ancestor parents, all these first/second/third gen Canadians will not be here and they are now 'Canadians' today because we had pro-immigration laws. Also, the idea of accessing services is by itself, very problematic. I spent the first 4 years of my life here paying high tuition fees as well as tax that are used to subsidize fellow Canadians' tuition fees yet I'm not able to access any government services. Following graduation, I worked as a worker on visa where my tax was no less than an average Canadian yet government services were very much inaccessible to me. It was only after I became permanent resident, that somehow everything suddenly became available to me. I have been tax paying 6-7 years before I became a PR here yet all those years, I wasn't able to access a single thing yet somehow, after I became PR, I'm eligible for everything? The tax argument doesn't make sense at all. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship in like a year and does that mean now I am one of you, Canadians?

If Canada wants to import Muslims on mass they deserve everything they get --your going to reap just what you sew.

I am sorry to make such a frivolous comment on such an important topic but the woman at 19:30 (Bev Ann?) is SO beautiful, like wow. \n\nBut on a more serious note, I think most of us have inherent biases to some degree (those who took these tests and indicated they don't have them - kudos to you). I openly admit I do too, and I think that's difficult to prevent if you've grown up without being exposed to a particular race or ethnicity, so I don't beat myself up about it. I think what we CAN do is make ourselves aware of our inherent biases and try to examine ourselves when we are forming impressions or making decisions about people and make a conscious effort to educate ourselves about and increase our interactions with people with whom we are unfamiliar. Ultimately, it's a fear of the unknown, so the more we know, the less we fear. I have my work cut out for me and I try to make small improvements every day.
