These Indian students giving such kind of opinions without realizing that they came the same way as the ones struggling now. They take for granted their current situation of privilege for having a valid study permit and a pgwp later on, however, in a few years, they’ll be walking in their shoes as well. The truth is that this country has an economy to maintain and sadly they are not concerned about your personal realization or you achieving your dreams, they need to fund the education system and after you’re done studying you are not contributing anymore, therefore, the cycle must repeat over and over again. What’s is true is that nobody has nothing for granted, and not being strategic about this life project may make you lose everything. Just research, and plan.

The issue is people come to Canada and DROP out after a semester or two and do not finish their education voiding their visa and contract however we allow them to stay. \n That is the real issue if you aren’t helping the economy your a burden on the economy. As a Turkish living in Alberta temporarily it’s not my business talking about economy, housing crisis or drug addiction since I am only here for a year. This is so interesting. I'm lucky enough to be a Singaporean and just a slightly above-average professional, I contemplated applying for Canadian PR as PR seemed achievable and I wanted a change of environment. But in 2018, I did a research trip to Vancouver and Toronto to scout out the place and talk to friends living there, and realised just from a few anecdotes that with the comparatively higher income taxes, lower salaries and higher housing prices (compared to subsidised public housing in SG, private housing in SG is still out of my reach) that I really was better off where I am. Not to mention the stagnating and less diverse economy, un-progressive tax system would penalise a single working female like me. I thought it would afford a better quality of life for young families due to the maternity leave policy - not sure if I was on the mark for that

I lived in Canada and didn't find Canada all that great. I'd say America is a far better country than Canada. Yes, please stop moving to our over saturated economy. Canadas economy is not ready to sustain such a large number of immigrants. When you have an extra 451,000 people flooding in per year that require jobs in a very sparsely populated country you’re going to run into housing and job shortages, which increase demands, increasing prices and therefore increasing homeless because people can’t afford living and they can’t get a job because a requirement for being an immigrant is full time employment.

Why does a country need immigrants? Because the native population is too low to run the economy. Why the Canadian population is going down? Because they choose to bring up pets and not kids. The problem of feeling locals as immigrants in their own country is due to addiction of drugs. So question that first. Secondly, immigrants are back bone for Canadian economy. The situation is not the fault of the students or the Indian students. It's solely the fault of the Canadian government because no Indian student can come to Canada without a student visa. They are accepting so many students only for financial gain. This is a result of corruption. But unfortunately, all the hate will go towards Indian students even when it's the government's fault. Many students have been misled by Canadian colleges, they have invested a significant amount of money and contributed to the Canadian economy, only to find themselves unable to secure employment. As a result, they are left with no choice but to return to India and confront their families and communities. This is a major factor contributing to the high number of students returning to India in unfortunate circumstances even suicide.

Hi True North, I'm from India not in Canada ?. if they were promised to give PGWP after course completion and they received that and now they are asking for further extension then yes send them back. But if the PGWP was not even granted to them in the first place then it's a scam, the Canadian government has to give what was promised. They contributed to your economy in dollars (which is not easy if someone is coming from India) they deserve to earn in dollars as well. Also, some students took loans as well . However, I understand Canadian citizens' frustration too but it was the Canadian government's mistake when they invited immigrants just for the sake of money.

Every third person that you meet in Canada in 20 years will be from South Asia. Most of us are economic immigrants and came here to live a happy peaceful prosperous life and contribute to the economy in the form of taxes. We are not a drain on the exchequer - most of our unproductive part of our lives have been paid off by India and now Canada is reaping those benefits. Did British people adopt the culture and customs of First Nations- did Italians and other Europeans adopt British customs- same applies to people from India- we will be bringing cultural elements but do not overpower the locals by any means.\n\ncrime town in canada is north Battleford, Thompson, red deer and Prince Albert and not Brampton.
