It's not just the recruiters in India. Canada themsevles is pumping out ads like crazy promising a great life with all this opportunity. Might have been true 30 years ago. Not now though, won't be for a long time.

I was born in Canada, yet even I am tempted to leave it. Trudeau's both Jr & Sr have certainly ruined it (and probably forever). I would also like to add that I wish you and your family all the best, but it's too bad things have deteriorated as they have for all of us, whatever religious or political beliefs to the point that we just don't like it here anymore. Good luck in your pursuit of happiness, you deserve it (as we all do)!

I came to Canada in Jan 2022 on permanent residence from India and returned back to India in November 2023. My reason to move to Canada was, I moved back to India for personal reasons after living in USA for 10 years (studies + work). I moved to Canada because I missed US, and thought it was difficult to adjust in India, and US would never give me green card anyway (due to country of birth quota). I moved to Canada with a job in hand, but opportunties are limited here. On top salaries are low, even compared to India. Healthcare is a disaster. In US, I could see a doctor next day. I had 4 surgeries done in US, multiple CT scans and countless X-rays. Never had an issue. In Canada, despite paying high taxes I fear of not able to get medical treatment and wait for months to see specialist. \nSlowly I realized, this country is not USA anyway and was naive of me to think of it as a viable replacement. I ended up returning back to India, as in end I realized India has issues, Canada has different ones but in India at least I can earn well (70 to 80K CAD while 2 BHK costs me like 500 CAD per month, 300,000 CAD for luxurious 3.5 BHK) and I can be close to my parents, the reason for which I left US. I will always miss US though. As long as I have family in India, I will never think of settling anywhere else. But the only country I would ever consider in future is USA.

Not possible. Israel left no room for compromise. We are on the brink of a regional war in the middle-east... and Canada doesn't recognize Palestine because it is a Zionist government. Islam has a low standing in pro-Zionists countries. Why is that? We need to investigate. Ultimately we need international law governance to protect against genocide and ethnic cleansing, and illegal use of weapons of mass destruction. And we needed this after WW2, but we still don't have it. There is no world government, just allies, and axis powers, and shadow governments.

I visit Canada regularly since the late 90th. I saw a steady decline in the last years. Get rid of Trudeau and his bad politics. The sad thing is that this happens to many western countries. Currently I live in Germany. The loss of wealth and confidence due to damage done to the economy by the current government is mind blowing. People are angry. Visiting the Netherlands, Britain, France - everywhere I go in the west it’s the same. Lol. As an American I laugh every time I hear Americans say they want to move to America, especially during a national election. I was born in Canada and could legally move there today. I am Turkish-Canadian. I don’t practice Islam but I am Muslim. I believe in one god Allah. We left Canada and live in California now. After all these unfairness to Palestine done by USA, I don’t want to live here. My husband is Pakistani-Canadian but he is also not practicing Muslim. We still though feel unfairness to Muslim people here. I believe Canada was a little bit better than USA. I don’t see myself living all of my life in USA. I would love to return to Turkey or live in Dubai. My only concern is my children’s education.

Never mind. For one that leaves there are 50 in line waiting to immigrate to Canada. In a globalized world you can live where you feel more comfortable. Some Canadians and immigrants move because they can not stand those looong winters. Some move because they think Canada is too liberal. But at the end of the day , you must adapt to Canada. Canada, its weather and polices will NOT adapt to you.

The weather and no possibility to make new friends made me leave Canada back in 1986. And believe me, there was already a lot of povery in Toronto, people were not living on the streets, that was the only difference. Criminality was very low and cost of living was much better than nowadays.

I can confirm that income and sales taxes in Canada are not high by world standards when looking to countries beyond the USA. Where I live in Poland, income taxes might appear lower on paper (12% and 32%), but there is an additional healthcare premium of 9% that is above and beyond income taxes that ultimately makes the 'taxes' paid about the same. Not to mention 23% sales taxes that many don't think about as it is included in the price.
