For anyone to reply: I’m on the fence here, I grew up in downtown Toronto in a very mixed neighbourhood. I do not like Trudeau liberals and NDP coalition. I disagree with the mass immigration under his reign: Canada’s healthcare system has been on life support for decades… inflation, tent cities and food insecurity. We need to fix our own problems before allowing immigration: “we need to put on our own O2 mask before helping others”. Stating that, since the Indian population has grown in Brampton, what’s the solution? They are already there— i know many ppl who have come to Canada and do not know the language, can only speak Italian, and Chinese… to name a few. Seems like the ppl who are already in Brampton can speak English, and chose to speak their own language amongst themselves. \nIn Toronto we have Greek, China, Corso Italia, little Tokyo, Little Jamaica, little Portugal, little Malta, Roncesvalles (polish), and Ukrainian towns. \nI’m on the fence: since they are already here, when is it considered Racism??? \nHonest question.. looking for insightful answers and or information.

GTA has alway had areas where immigrant cultures congregate. Little India, Greek Town, Little Italy, China Town, Korea town, little Portugal. Canada needs new tax payers to replace the ageing Baby Boomer population. Who is going to pay into the CPP, OAS and taxes with a decline “Canadian population.”

This is exactly why we have the problems we do in the federal government all of these immigrants that come to Canada just keep voting liberal need to inform them and now immigration into Canada needs to stop until we can get back up on our feet

Unlike most of the comments here, I absolutely love being a Canadian. I have a rare health condition and the government covers 100% of my medicine costs which is thousands of dollars a month. It’s also safe here and there’s so much opportunity. I immigrated when I was 4 years old from Pakistan and even when I go back to visit, Canada is like heaven on earth compared to Pakistan. The medicine I need to live a healthy is isn’t even made or offered in Pakistan. I’ll forever be a proud Canadian. Thank you Canada ❤

Well, as an immigrant, I am sorry for the Canadians who were born here. The thing is though, until our government can find a way to solve the birth rate problem or labor shortage, mass immigration likely will continue. \n\nMy work contains data analysis of our job market and here is what we found: even with this level of immigration, our labor supply right now in Canada is still slightly below replacement level. In less than a decade, the majority of people in the workforce will retire. This creates two problems: 1) more retirees mean more pension needed from the government; 2) government needs tax money to pay for pensions, but the workforce is shrinking so there will be less tax payers. I don’t see a good solution to this unless some super AI saves the day. Of several bad solutions (gambling is more like it), immigration has a chance of turning things around. But either way, the next generation of workers will be the most overworked and heavily taxed in decades.

Multi-culturalism is a failed concept. That being said, Canada needs skilled immigration. The biggest flaw in Canadian immigration is extended family based immigration and uncapped asylum immigration. The bar for skilled immigration should be really high. Labor immigration should always be temporary and rotational. You bring in labor, train them, make them work, find the best amongst them, promote them, integrate them and let go of the non-performing ones.

I'm Australian and a few months back had a debate with a Canadian on reddit who visited Australia and remarked how shocked he was at how ethnically segregated Australia is and was preaching about how in Canada everyone mixes and that Australia should learn from Canada how to integrate immigrants. Well as someone who did a working holiday in Canada he was spouting bs, you have cities like Surrey, Richmond, Burnaby, Brampton and Markham that have become mini India and Chinas in Canada. Australia might have neighbourhoods that are segregated but we sure as hell don't have cities with 300k+ people that cater to one ethnicity. I love Canadians don't get me wrong but a lot of you really need to stop with this holier than thou attitude thinking your poo don't stink.

We have the same problem. I actually like the people, but….somehow, immigrants have managed to have been able to acquire the vast majority of retail jobs in our area. How is that possible? There are businesses and fast food chains with not one white person working as an employee. I spoke to a former worker that was at one of these businesses for years and asker her WTF happened? She told me that the company hired a new manager from India, within 6 months, half the staff were Indian, local students were not being hired for part time jobs, only Indians, by the end of the year, every single employee was Indian. \nShe along with other quit their jobs because….not because they’re racist, but because not only were they being treated differently than the now majority brown workers, but they were being made to feel excluded because…the manager and the new staff all spoke a different language, they would all work together in a group not speaking English at all, saying things and laughing making it pretty obvious that they were making fun of the white employees. The “manager” would ignore the white staff’s complaints and he would then seemingly punish them by giving them less hours, change their duties and give “the good shifts” to the new brown people to the point where the white people were made to feel alienated as well as cutting back their hours leaving them with not enough hours to make a living. “This is Canada Mother Fecker” these people need to speak our language when they’re in public or at the workplace with “Canadians” or…employers should fire them. I will note, that the A&W that this happened at, has changed not only by every single employee being brown, but the service is not near as friendly, they all speak to each other in a different language behind the counter.. the seating area is not even close to being clean, the tables usually are left with trays and garbage that aren’t being cleaned as customer leave. It so bad sometimes that I literally have to pick a dirty table and remove the garbage myself because every available table has not been cleaned….and the bathrooms …. I don’t even want to talk about it they’re so disgusting. And when you complain….they turn to other employees and speak a different language… so we have no idea about WTF they are actually doing or saying about the issue. “ Thank you Sir, we will take care of that.” And the next day…it was the same. I’ve stopped going there along with everyone that I know…our work crew along with our families can no longer support such a dirty, rude and disrespectful business.

There are foreigners in india that live there (thats okay) - Theres 550 “Canadian” companies operating in India ?? We need to close the borders immediately and start giving serious tax breaks to old-stock Canadians in order to encourage them to have more children. This should have been done 50 years ago already. Canada doesn't need any larger population, contrary to Trudeau's/WEF plan to destroy the country by importing too many immigrants. \nOnce it's meaningless to be a Canadian because everyone is different from everyone else and they don't have shared values, then anyone can come in from anywhere and there will be no customs to check them. Canadian citizenship will be discontinued, and if we are still voting then, anyone in the world will be able to vote as a citizen of the world. If Globalists succeed in keeping everyone from traveling anywhere, we'll be stuck in this mess, eating crickets and being vaccinated by force. The other choice will be to take advantage of Canada's MAID service.

I’ve said that many times in Ontario , I don’t feel I’m in my own country , when you go in stores many working there aren’t friendly , don’t acknowledge you speak over the PA. You can’t understand them when calling to work on tails are on the floor.. immigrants having taken over our country even on the streets , they don’t adapt to our country laws or way of living , it’s like being in the twilight zone . Growing up in Brampton most of my life and now being able to travel for work I say let them have it. Brampton is over priced and over crowded. High crime rate. No night life. Only a handful of choices for cuisine. Canada is an enormous country and the real shame is not being able to move to another city as easy as it should be when a good for nothing one gets invaded the way Brampton has. I’m currently out in Woodstock and all the new houses in the north of the city is ALL Indians. On any nice day you’d think the neighborhood park is little India with all the aunties and uncles at the benches. The damage is done, this country’s immigration system needs a complete overhaul.

A giant false idol on Canada soil, no different than planting a flag of a conquering army. I was born and raised in Canada and in my 60’s now. I can’t afford to live here anymore, healthcare has declined, personal safety, fuel costs, insurance etc. most of all our politics are a mess on all three major parties. The Liberals are a royal mess and inflation went through the roof. They’re just running around like the 3 blind mice making fools of themselves. The Conservatives are involving themselves in a right wing romance with fascist trumpianism and think poutine is an ok guy. The hate speech is unreal. We used to be a real chill country. I have young 20 somethings telling me they think Communism is a great idea and they would rather fight for poutine if a war breaks out. Well it’s their future not mine. The AI, bots and trolls on the internet are telling them what they want to hear in order to stir up hate and entitlement. The NDP (New Democratic Party) is neither here nor there, they’re kind of always the minority and swing both the other two parties to divide the vote and gain some form of temporary power. \nI’d like to see a politician that has the balls to stand up to the dictators of this world that shit disturb in every continent because they are such little insecure bastards that they think they can conquer it. I’ve got news for them. Every single dictator in history has failed… miserably and often brutally. We need the kind of leadership in our Country that can produce good governance. Our GDP is just under $60K. The dictators out there are rubbing their greedy little hands, for if there is ever a 3rd world war, Canada will be the prize. We are loaded with resources. Political unrest in Argentina and Chile. I have personally witnessed systemic racism in the USA and Canada. \nI don’t have anything tying me down to stay here so I will be moving on. And then no one‘s offering the immigrants jobs because there is no jobs but that’s not again the Canadians fault they can’t afford to put food on their own table. Canadians are hard-working and I know lotta immigrants are hard-working in regards to the students don’t come here maybe the United States will be best for you they offer lotta countries. Justin Trudeau knew that unrestrained immigration would destabilize our economy but that is exactly what he wanted. His intention since he was elected in 2015 was to make Canada a dictatorship with him as the dictator. Canada needs a strong and forward looking government, and streamlined legislations. Sorry for the affordability issue but Canada is the second largest country by land size. There's definitely a money threshold in Canada you NEED to make to .... have fun and live well. If you're a lifetime renter, or entry level worker.... it doesn't make sense. My family is established from previous happy decades. But even for us there is stagnation and living on savings (many family members moved back to EU, and I'm thinking of it as I'm fluent in many languages there). Imagine people starting new RIGHT NOW.... makes me sad that most Canadians will never had a backyard. Godspeed everyone.

Canada needs to have more pride with the people who built this country which is Canadians who have paid their dues and their parents. If you're a refugee we shouldn't deny you a plate of food but if my neighbor doesn't have it I'll serve him long before you, these are my people - the ones who has supported me in periods of unemployment, childhood - you can pay your dues too or don't come here. Look to your neighboring countries who share the same creed and where you can integrate better as you come here for our services.
