This vid was very informative! I just finished my high school and am choosing US and Canadian Unis. A bit off topic but are the living conditions good? Im from a pretty hot region so i wanted to know what the avg temperature feels like? Also how extreme the temperatures can get and what are the local people like :D

Accurate. I was born in B.C. but moved here when I was 3 years old. I'll say this Toronto always had a level of crime rate so be careful of your surroundings. Crime rate dipped down in 2002. In 2018 moving back it is worse than ever before. A city that wants all the chiefs but how does one simply live here on the minimum wage bracket. If a city has a minimum wage said citizen should be able to afford rent. Ergo professionals could then afford upscale neighbourhoods. Toronto has always been expensive but this is not do-able I might go back to British Colombia if this gets worse over the winter. Ontario you lose another Canadian in this metropolis.

I am a Canadian exasperated with the wait times for medical care here. There is a lot of prejudice in Canada against America. Our politicians are ruining our economy and many Canadians are more interested in sensationalism about American politics than they are about problems here. Everyone living in peace and safety can afford to criticise others. But Canada was safer, friendlier and more economically responsible in the past. There are unsafe neighbourhoods here, too. There is poverty here, too. Those who don't see deterioration are not looking closely. We battle the same demons as any people group and are just as vulnerable to calamity as our American neighbours. I don't want to leave my country. The people I love are here. The rising cost of living gives me fears about future homelessness. I grew up as a patriotic Canadian and believed America was our friend. We thought maybe Americans were more prone to bragging while Canadians were more modest. My nearest city used to be vibrant and friendly and now it is colder, more dangerous and there is visible ruin from addiction.

Born and raised in Canada. My advice to anyone thinking of immigrating here, come with a LOT of financial support base established AND a gameplan on longterm income. If you come here with just a dream, you will find yourself in a nightmare. The quality of life in Quebec, despite the fact that Quebecers are not as well off as residents of other provinces, such as BC, Alberta or Ontario, is far better. Life in Montreal, Quebec is far superior to that of Toronto or Ottawa in many ways. Having lived in these two capitals, I prefer to live in Quebec, despite all the bad things Canadians in other provinces think of it. The fact that I am perfectly bilingual has favored my integration into this distinct society, I must admit.

I'm Canadian and live very close to the border. Like, really really close, in the rural area. I cross all the time to grab things I can save money on. But I wouldn't live in the US for all the money in the world. People I talk to down there are all crazy.

Im a Canadian who got cancer. Went through 8 surgeries, Kemo and recieved the majority of my medicine.... All for free. This was included in my uni health care. Even an ambulance ride to the hospital is free. Why would I want to live down there.

I am a dual citizen, spending 6 months/year in Canada, working remotely for a Canadian bank. It was pretty comfortable living in Canada years ago, however I'd prefer living in the US now. Canadian advantage over USA, healthcare system, is deteriorating very fast, with hordes of new immigrants coming every year ... Canada soon will be a hostile to the US country with current levels of immigration from Asian countries unfriendly to USA. I am considering leaving Canada for good, heading back to the US or moving to Portugal/Spain, selling a house in Canada will allow buying a nice property elsewhere.

Canada was good, but it has gone downhill immencely in the past decade or so. We are now in the top 5 countries on earth for housing cost to income ratio. Many Canadians can't even afford a home or rent here any more. A one bedroom apartment in Toronto where I live can go for 2,400 a month. Millions of immigrants arriving and the economy has largely stagnated despite all these new people. Lots of blindly partisan Liberals here though that will never admit the country is in serious decline. Don't let them lecture you about healthcare and social safety nets either there are literally MILLIONS of people in Ontario our largest province where I live that can't even access a family doctor even if they were willing to pay for one. With the number of people not being able to access basic medical services here I would not call it unviersal any more.

I think she appreciates the health care as well with my talks with her over the years. She and I've been thinking this lately that Canadians have either changed or that Canadians are more friendly stereotype is going down .I think with more immigration, the cost of living and frozen pay and higher and higher taxes Canadians are increasing discouraged with politics and Canada in general. You noticed many of the woman mentioning health care and social programs as well? Police... We have a lot here as well maybe more so because of pay. The police are well looked after and paid well here. I think politics are getting more polar and more divisive here as well. The liberals have really really done a stellar job with two terms of sheer WEF CCP hogwash to destroy the country. Another general stereotype is that Americans are obnoxious and unpleasant isn't true as well. I'm in tourism and find most of the Yanks to be friendly and polite and GREAT TIPPERS. Ha many US servers don't like it when Canucks go over there because they're stingy. I think if everything works out without saying more, your country, like it or not , will ultimately start the big liberation finally of humanity hopefully for the better. I'm a dual citizen, born & raised in Canada; my mom was an American, my dad a Canadian, they met in Detroit. I'm very glad they chose to settle in Canada and raise their children here. (My American mom preferred Canada. She was a stage 3 cancer survivor who outlived all her American relatives and she believed she outlived them because of Canadian healthcare.) Although I'm eligible as a dual citizen, I would never live in the US because of the cost and lack of universal health care and the gun culture in some states. I also dislike the polarization in the USA and worry we be headed the same way. Sadly, many Americans the myth of American exceptionalism.

Canada is objectively better in terms of legal employment protections, unemployment insurance and healthcare, even though it's second-rate when you take into account waiting times etc. Our public education system is hands down better, even with it's woke issues. If you have never been to, or lived in Canada, you have no right making this video. I've been here from August 26th. I live in Saskatoon. Found a job in 8 days, I didn't have a career back home, except for being a mechanic, saftey guy and 2 more diplomas. I started from ground up working at grocery shop, paid the bills, smoked that good weed, can video call my family everyday, hanging out with the boys and chilling. \n\nBut I understand how most people who had a career back in their home is having trouble getting the exact one here. My roommate did software engineering stuff back home and he works with me. \n\nAlso Canadians have been really great with me. My husband and I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 12 years. During that time we had two babies, but we had insurance so the price tag wasn't too bad, overall. We made good friends there, all different political views but we got along well and it was great. We lived in Ohio both pre and post 9-11. I definitely noticed a difference in the growing patriotism around us. Even pre-9-11 there was a higher level of overt patriotism than I was used to in Canada. For instance, more people had flags in their yards or America-themed bumper stickers than I was used to in Canada. But post 9-11 patriotism grew immensely, and we started to feel like political views were starting to have an effect on friendships. Also, Ohio passed a conceal carry law (firearms), and I found my awareness that anyone around me might have a concealed weapon unsettling. In Canada the only guns anyone I knew owned were hunting rifles, locked up. But suddenly I had to worry about if there were guns in the houses that my children were visiting. As a Canadian, I just wasn't used to the idea of everyone having guns around. Anyway, we overall enjoyed living in Ohio. The cost of living there was reasonable, the people were friendly, and we only moved when the real estate bubble burst and my husband lost his job. We went back to Canada and, honestly, I've been relieved to be back as I watch the news and see how divided the American people have become. Even some of the friends that I had in Ohio have changed and become a lot less accepting of different opinions. It makes me scared for the future of the US, and the effect it all will have on the rest of the world.

As a Canadian I am actually going to set up a business that's taking advantage of America's horrible healthcare system. I actually wanted to move to the United States every since I was a teen ager. I went to the Detroit area and they failed me in nursing school. I found white Americans to be quite feral and maintain sadistic tendencies and arrogance as necessary cultural value. Canadian here - lived in the US for 5 years, moved for work and then quickly found I was in golden handcuffs and had way less job mobility due to my healthcare being tied to my job. In Canada there’s so much more freedom to grow professionally. Moved back because of that and also culturally I missed the community feel. Also - the politeness, even something as little as ordering food in the states bugged me. No one says please or thank you - it’s ‘I’ll get a number 4’ instead of ‘can I get a number 4’ - pretty small difference but once I noticed it I couldn’t stop.

Hey there, you fine American... Just to let you understand, our system is FAR from perfect, but it's still easy access and quick service IF you don't need a rare specialist or a not so rare one). The thing is, it's ALL priority based, so if you wait, it's because someone needs your resources even MORE than you do. Sometimes, it ends up in a tragedy, but MOST times, it allows for the neediest to get it first. \nAs far as having children here, we have a NEGATIVE birthrate, so our government PAYS us to have children. My son grew up in Quebec, and they have a double everything. Double taxes (not that bad after the tax deductions and credits), but they also Double the safety net and services, compared to the rest of Canada. Not only was childbirth free, so were the pre-natal courses and everything else, AND we got around 1000$/mo in childcare benefits, until he turned 18, with full of tax credits per kid. Plus, daycare was 5$/day back then, it's 7$/day almost 20 years later.. Pretty citizen friendly. \nThings MIGHT be changing though. Our conservatives are taking their talking points from the US GOP since COVID, and they are all-in to please their Oil lobby overlords and donators out in our prairies region. The Alberta Premier is a far-right conspiracy nutcase and her new pet-project is Capitalist healthcare (among her trolley of lunacies). SAME place the far-right rednecks always come at us from. I’ve been privileged to actually live and work for long periods of time in USA, Netherlands, and China…and in a variety of locations in each country. Until recently, I’d have chosen Canada without hesitation. Canada has been rocketing into an ideological cesspool rivalling China, but so has USA and the Netherlands. As for the future…if I were middle aged (as opposed to OLD!) I would go to southeast USA Fla or Tx. Not because they are ‘better ‘ right now, but I believe USA still has a chance to sort itself out but Canada is simply too screwed up and corrupt (morally, politically, socially, & financially) to recover at least in my lifetime. I was living in northern China (Harbin) when that idiot Trudeau became PM and hoped he had a chance to improve things in general. But it is clear he (or whoever is pulling his vapid strings) has been a disaster and his current opposition shows signs of being equally awful. I believe US citizens care far more for their constitution and freedoms and more aware of the perilous situation they’re in than Canadians, many of whom still believe we have a functioning health care system. All this is coming to you from a Canadian septuagenerian, highly educated by what was (decades ago) the best educational system in the Western Hemisphere. One who benefited from a wonderful health care system before it got farmed out to private corporations and became a haven for niche specialties while starving out the family physicians who were the front line for proactive family care. I’m currently living in Canada and have lived in the USA. I can safety say the health care system sucks. I had to take my wife to the hospital because of an eye infection, we had to wait for 8 hours to be seen, the doctor was arrogant and sent us out in 2 mins. We had to travel to USA to get treated. Some can say you don’t have health care completely in Canada, the housing is completely expensive here, govt artificially limits supply of housing and drives up housing cost, the pay is less in Canada compared to USA. The Canadian PM is bigger joker compared to other world leaders.

I am a 79 year old Canadian lived here all my life broke my femer in 2020 just when covid started they put a steel rod in it then my next act i fractured it again in march of 2023 back on my feet now thank god for our healthcare only had to pay 26 dollars for a cane over both surgeries knock it all you want but it still the best ?

FYI, the Canadian Provincial health care is a shambles. Each province has their own health care system. A national system would make much more sense. In Toronto, there are many who can't find a family doctor, nurses in hospitals are overworked and mistreated, hence, they're leaving the profession. Those living in smaller communities must travel great distances for routine appointment, or emergency care. Our federal government does not recognize foreign trained medical professional qualifications, so they leave or work multiple minimum wage jobs. All I know about U.S. health care is that it's $$$$$$$$$.

I find the misinformation when comparing our ( Canadian) heath care system to yours is is huge. Firstly there is NO copay-NONE for anything. Secondly there is NO limit on cost of surgery or treatments-NONE. Sometimes there are new drugs that are very expensive and not yet covered but that is it. I have lived in the US for the winter for he past 13 years and the concept of no copay with our system just seems to be beyond their grasp. For the life of me I cannot understand why the US citizens do not want universal health care like ALL of the rest of the developed nations of the world. When someone says they have health care in the US that all comes with possibly thousands in copay fees.

It's a misconception to assume that the US medical care is always better, or that the wait times in Canada are a lot longer.\nWhile there's no question the quality of care depends on where you live, rural areas in both countries don't typically have specialists or all the latest equipment. Major urban areas are much better served.\nAlso, the measured outcomes for many types of surgical procedures are often statistically better in Canada, with higher success rates and better recoveries for many types of procedures. The big difference is because more Canadians have regular check-ups, problems are typically caught sooner, before they become serious. That's a big reason why our life-span is several years higher, and our infant mortality is much lower than the US. Because of the extra co-pay costs or because they don't have insurance and cannot afford basic medical care, many Americans put off doctors visits until they're really sick. \nDuring a routine check-up I was diagnosed with a minor heart condition last September. Was able to see a specialist within 5 weeks. That specialist sent me to a heart surgeon a few weeks later who scheduled an Arterial Ablation day surgery in December. (I walked out 6 hours later...) Lots of pre-surgical and post surgical testing and follow-up. As it turned out, the other side of my heart also required the same surgery, and by March that was completed successfully too. Again, multiple follow-ups and tests, and I've got a totally symptom-free outcome.\nI had a hip replacement a few years ago that went well and resulted in a totally pain free hip that allowed me to return to normal activities I could no longer enjoy before surgery.\nTotal cost in the US for both these types of surgeries would have likely been well over $100,000. The most I paid was for the hospital parking...\nIs it better in Canada? - Absolutely...!!!

Sure its free but you might die waiting for life saving treatments because the government doesnt want to allow any form of private healthcare if its already “provided” by the government. Most of the gun violence in the US is in the lower income neighborhoods and at least you’re allowed to defend yourself. In Canada if you defend yourself, straight to jail. If you have evidence of self defense youll be ruined by the legal fees. Its sad, Canada used to be great but after 8 years of terrible liberal economic policies the prices have skyrocketed and now canadian kids are being told they’ll never own a house. Who would want to stay here? Most canadians dont care though, as long as they get to smoke their pot they’ll always remain complacent.

I am Canadian - I was on a trip the the good ole US of A last December - developed a UTI went to urgent care (have good health insurance from my cdn govt job) for a urine sample and some IV fluids- just got my bill was charged $10kusd and my insurance covered 80% like WTF $10kusd - for real will be contesting this bill and these charges - how does anyone afford to live there? This is insanity! ?
