Canada, unlike the US, was always more of a salad than a melting pot. Many separate ingredients in one bowl. It wasn't that long ago that Canada was dealing with the Quebecois issue. Beyond that, there are issue with First Nations relations. To expect Canada to be a melting pot is too much. It's a country primarily of English speakers, a large number of French speakers mainly concentrated in Quebec, First Nations people, and then European immigrants who in a generation or two become more basic English-speaking Canadians. You can't expect more than that form Canada. This is not even addressing how Chinese Vancouver is. That's another ball of wax.

The common reasons why Brampton has so many Indians.\n1) Even in India there are 22 official languages, but unofficial 121 languages with over 700 different dialects. In Brampton, the majority are Punjabi and Gujarati. These names first come from the language they speak, later to the Indian State. Each language represents a culture. In India also everyone feels safe within their community because it is human nature to bully someone who doesn't look the same as them. So, they feel safe within the community. This new Woke culture calls it racism and hate, but I think it is a common human nature.\n2) Helping each other to settle in the same community. So, they prefer to land here first and somehow settle in. The government programs for newcomers are just a waste of taxpayers' money.\n3) Closer to the Airport and Public Transportation is not too bad.\n4) A lot of part-time work opportunities for the students and newcomers. (Not the same under Trudeau anymore)\n5) A lot of activities for parents of the immigrants because they can't learn English or Culture at this age.\n6) Indian Food and Grocery are easily available.\n\nIt was not that bad before, but the latest influx of unskilled immigrants and students with the absence of manners has taken it to an unrecoverable level.

Canada has become dumpster of the world. Everytime I go to doctor's office, there are many indian grand parents who doesn't speak English! \n\nThey have not paid a dime to this country and here we are, our healtcare system is overrun. I cannot stand Canada anymore!

Being an Indian in Halifax, I try to speak, behave and live like a Canadian does. I assimilate. That said, this video is a racist dog whistle. Try living on the outskirts of Vancouver Canada. It’s getting harder to find someone speaking English and then the immigrants pulled the race card totally wrong but they’re allowed to get away with that. It should be English or French only that’s the requirements but Trudeau screwed us over again.

Poor guy. My heart goes out to the delivery driver. He is super patient. What is wrong with this customer? Did the customer think taping this we were going to side with his abusive behavior toward the delivery man? I agree the delivery driver should have a change of at least a $20, but that does not give the customer the right to speak to him this way. He wants to make a clown of the delivery driver but he only made a clown out of himself.

I know its a two side issue (Indian and Canadian). But I would blame our present govt for letting so many international students from a specific country. They didn't even bother to estimate the demographics of people who they are letting in. When you are looking for multiculturalism then set a quota from each country rather then only from one country. And also must make sure they speak english or French and at the same time adapt to our rules and culture.

Advice to all Indians abroad, you can do a better job in India if you can speak English and get good respect in society. What did you achieve by going to Canada?

Canada is India and China now. And none of them come here and respect Canadians or Canada! Canada fluffing sucks. \nOne of the worst Counties to live in now. My own County and no one speaks bloody English here anymore. And now we have to deal with Palestinians protesting freely but when Canadians do it we get our bank accounts frozen. But Palestinians can protest in our Country and bring Evil upon our cities. Go back to your own home Country if you cannot live peacefully like we do here! Go back to your own Country if you dont want learn to speak English and learn to live in Canada with respect and respect Canadians in their own home Country. Everyone complaining should ask themselves a few questions. These Indians and by extent all immigrants have significant barriers. I'll refer to only indians here. They have names which are hard to pronounce. Some of them have a look only a mother can love. They cant speak as well as we do. We cannot understand them. Majority of them come here w nothing. Yet...yet...they have become THE Richest diaspora in America and they are not doing too badly here in Canada as well. Now you have to ask yourself why is this the case. They start frombthe bottom and in 20 years or less they end up at the top. I think most rational sane ppl will know the answer, other immigrants will know the answer. The answer is: they work hard at educating themselves and then they work hard at their jobs. Some of you will say they get tax breaks and child tax subsidies etc. But those things are handouts...its not designed for you to become rich from, just to keep from drowning. So its not handouts. They literally work hard all their lives. Do you see any of them at the ball game? Or out partying? Or out having a grand time. The same ones delivering your uber eats in 20 years will be richer than you. Even with all the barriers I mentioned before. I am an Eastern European national whos been here for the past 40 years.

Canadians are not hostile towards immigrants! But whether Canadian-born or raised, we are made to feel unwelcome in our own cities and country. The basic manners we used to share are no longer visible, like speaking English in public, holding a door, or being considerate of others.

For anyone to reply: I’m on the fence here, I grew up in downtown Toronto in a very mixed neighbourhood. I do not like Trudeau liberals and NDP coalition. I disagree with the mass immigration under his reign: Canada’s healthcare system has been on life support for decades… inflation, tent cities and food insecurity. We need to fix our own problems before allowing immigration: “we need to put on our own O2 mask before helping others”. Stating that, since the Indian population has grown in Brampton, what’s the solution? They are already there— i know many ppl who have come to Canada and do not know the language, can only speak Italian, and Chinese… to name a few. Seems like the ppl who are already in Brampton can speak English, and chose to speak their own language amongst themselves. \nIn Toronto we have Greek, China, Corso Italia, little Tokyo, Little Jamaica, little Portugal, little Malta, Roncesvalles (polish), and Ukrainian towns. \nI’m on the fence: since they are already here, when is it considered Racism??? \nHonest question.. looking for insightful answers and or information.

My family and I migrated to Canada in the 90’s. I order to migrate I was told that I must be able to speak one of two languages, either English or French. I guess this is not so anymore. Follow the money that people pay to come to Canada and you will be able to figure out why Brampton is in this situation.

Markham is pure Chinese and still Chinese police station. \nAnd almost none of them speak English. \nAlso they have changed the driving rules. You can no longer make left hand turns on red light, almost anywhere in the city. Cause to many Chinese people were getting in accidents, cause they could not grasp the concept.

Toronto is almost there. English is not the majority language anymore. Even the White people do not speak it. The only good thing about Brampton is the majority are from Delhi and not Dearborn.
