This is a distraction from a much greater problem in this nation because China is far advanced economically. It’s a whole new world over there whiles this country is pledge with the effects or racism and classism. Eventually there will be no middle class. It will be the Elites and the poor no room or opportunity for nothing in between. Racism must stop in order to combat classism. Immigration entitlement is a direct result of the efforts to oppress black Americans by moving them in order to keep us out along with every other major issue America is facing currently. Racism will be the demise of this country. The amount of energy and resources used for anti black racism has pretty much bankrupted this country. Just think about all of the black inventors, intellectuals, and dreamers killed or suppressed whom could have been more of an economical difference in this country to help make it a beautiful place…. Palki, as usual, misses the elephant in the room. The reason Indians are not wanted in many countries, is the crude way they behave, and the way they try to defraud every system by trying to overstay illegally, coming on toursit visa and taking up a job, lying and cheating to bend laws etc etc. The list is endless. It is much better for other countries if Indians just stay in India.

Good. Less immigration is what all Canadians want. I’m the child of immigrants I believe immigration is a good thing. But not the way it has been completely ruined by this government. Our country is flooded with low skilled immigrants. In addition the mass immigration and rapid demographic change is not incentivizing immigrants to adapt to Canada. ( eg see any corner in any town in Ontario and see how much of the immigrants speak English). If eveything is Canadian then nothing is. I want our culture not to be dissolved into nothingness.

When any tourist go to Sri Lanka after touring India, he or she realises how chaotic and filthy most Indian cities are. Other than inside metro trains, Indian roads are just filth dumps. Shocking to see the state of cleanliness of tourist attractions like Mthaura, Vrindavan etc etc. On top immigration officials in India seem to think they are doing a favor for the tourists who are coming to spend dollars and know their country!! There's complete sense of apathy and misplaced over confidence! Countries around India, like Sri Lanka, Nepal are way much better in cleanliness and other behavioural aspects !!

A lot of Indians treat white people really badly. Especially when there is money involved. It’s now extremely common that people here hate dealing with Indians as customers of their business and will go as far as avoid it altogether. They will often relentlessly try to negotiate services, lie and say anything to get get their way, pester businesses until they cave to their demands and even leave bad reviews which they say they will change if you give them a good deal. None of this is the way things are done in Canada and that needs to be respected. Something kind of funny, I’ve heard many people say that Indians will often say they will refer tons of friends and family to a business if you give them an unreasonable discount (which they never do once they’ve gotten what they want), but what they don’t realize is that referring a bunch more Indians to them is the last thing that business wants. And really, some of the discounts they want on things are just ridiculous. When I was selling my car a few years ago, I had it listed for $55,000 and I got bombarded by Indians offering $20,000-$25,000 and every lie under the sun of why that’s all it was worth, other people are saying yes to offers like that for the same car, dealerships are selling them for that much and so on. Like come on. And I guess while I’m at it, I hate to say but it’s a common thing here to walk into a gas station and the smell of body odour just hits you like a brick. I’ve stopped going to 3 different stations because of it. I’m sure there’s some pungent white people out there but damn. This is on a whole other level. It literally fills the entire building.

You can't be in complete denial about the visa scams/forged documents.\n\nI regularly travel around the world for my business, witnessed way too much than I can handle. \nAll their antics start from boarding the plane itself, there on, they go full-on hysterical.. from being excessively loud on the plane to air hostesses begging them to put their cabin baggages back in before landing.., Carry that same unruly, cringe-worthy behaviour in that foreign land, all throughout seamlessly. \n And then when being called out, they're very quick to complain about being prejudiced/racism.\nWow, it's such a delight!!!

Yeah I'm Canadian with a lot of health issues yeah you don't have to pay but sometimes the wait can be long like 21 hours at the emergency + the time to see the er doc and if you need tests that would make it longer. Just recently my waiting time was 16 hours. I live in Ontario and we get a lot of Quebec people because their waiting time can be way much longer.

Thank you for bringing this to the forefront. Also, I think what is equally if not more damaging is that our experience of Indians is that they cheat. Whether a driving school, moving company or other business, they are well known to bypass regulations and swindle Canadians. Demanding overcharges at the time of delivery etc. If there is a scam running, they are involved. In about 2004 almost every Indian real estate agent in Alberta had their license pulled because they were proven to be involved in mortgage fraud on a massive scale. Not to mention we can no longer enjoy peace and quiet in our own homes without having some Indian calling us from India, trying to plant viruses on our computer, steal our life savings, or otherwise do as much damage to Canadians as they can. If there is a way to cheat the government or cheat on immigration, they will have their hand in it. I will not even talk to an Indian on the phone anymore - period! As a general rule, Canadians have learned that they can't be trusted.

Born and raised in Canada. Grew up believing anyone could do well here if you apply yourself as an average person. Household income was higher then the USA and for the most part 'middle class life' was pretty attainable. Now I've had some bumps along the way that has nothing to do with this to set me back, but today I look at the 'make a life market' and the opportunities are none. You either own a home and are doing well, or your a renter going backwards every year because of inflation and the brain drain. Entrepreneurs have left the country. We as a country have not done much since the 1980's. We stagnated in The Boomers success and never made a future for their children. Then in the past few years, we have rampant immigration to add to the fire. Canada, for a lack of words is a Dumpster Fire. DON'T MOVE HERE!

Few things I noticed:\n1) Indians dont respect Canadian standards of personal space; we do not live in a crowded country so back up a bit.\n2) Indians do not open up personally quickly; often keep to themselves.\n3) Dont understand most people have integrated into society, so we encourage you too. Its not fair to assume everything is “white” so you fight/oppose but fail to consider its a hybrid Canadian culture. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. I’m an international student, from my perspective it seems like the government can’t keep themselves from messing with the economy, basically crippling it by regulations, making the market unable to take advantage of the increased labor supply.\n\nI have spent almost half a million in Canada, which includes tuition, living cost, and starting a business which now employs two Canadians. But because I spent one term as a part time student, I have became ineligible for PGWP, which means I have no way of staying in Canada through my own agencies.\n\nThat is a slap in the face for immigrants whove come here to settle, the fact that I have positively contributed to the Canadian economy than many Canadians ever have, while withdrawing absolutely zero from public benefits, now if I buy a house here yall will drop on me a 50%+ capital gains tax and then kick me out, why would anyone want to invest in Canada? I’m seriously considering just moving to Florida because of all these. \n\nWhat happened to the good old days when you can come here with nothing, integrate into the community, and then become Canadians? Almost none of the forefathers of Canadians had to contribute this much into the society first to become Canadians, they stayed because their peers wanted them to stay, and the market was free to adjust to the labor supply and housing demand without government interference.\n\nWhat I see is not an immigration problem, it’s a big government problem, Canadians have become addicted to the government making decisions for them. Okay I believe Canada's inflation is because of my country's inflation the US both of our countries have that trading system where most of the products Canada needs is in the US so if inflation is high then the products are more expensive and the only way Canada can afford them is by increasing their inflation making the civilians and immigrants lives much more difficult

As someone who had to take the English assessment to attain the PGWP, I complained so much because I didn't come to Canada not knowing English, and I certainly did not graduate without the ability to read, write, listen and even present business cases in English. It pissed me off at the time cause he costs hundreds of dollars for something I was assessed on before even coming to the country. Did they really think my English got poorer after 3 years in the country? \n\nBut I totally get your point why its needed now with the way things are. However, in the long run, I think reforms should be made at the student visa level. Canadian and other international students who worked hard to get into uni don't need a deadweight that cant speak the official language of the university and contribute meaningfully. Forget contributing to Canadian society, would the student himself learn anything?

Stop panicking: there’s a residential bubble because housing has some catching up to do, corporations gouged prices using propaganda to blame the government. Canada has gone through so much worse in the past, it doesn’t compare. You should understand what the pandemic has done and understand that getting back to normal doesn’t happen overnight. Just check that Canada has been ranked 3rd best country in the world after Switzerland and the US. Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. Thank you so much for this. In spite of being born in Ontario, I learned a lot about Canada! My entire family was born and grew up either in Toronto or in the then-small towns closeby. My father moved us to upstate NY in 1957 when I was 9 years old, me kicking and screaming all the way. I was devastated to be leaving Canada, and now at 77, I've decided this life-long yearning to return to my birthplace has to become reality. I've started the process, hoping I may gain some points because I'm a former citizen :) . I still have lots of family in several provinces; people I haven't seen since we were children, and some of us are great-grandparents now. Why Colombian farmers choosed to grow coca plants? They grow like a weed. Why they choose to process the plant and sell the paste? Is easy to do it, and easy to stored. The best thing for them is that the cartels just go to pick up a little bag that weighs 3 ponds and pay a nought money to the farmers to support their families, right there in the spot!!. If the farmer's cultivate vegetables, plantains, or any other produce, is no way for them to move their produce out of their farms. Is not an infrastructure of roads or any other system that is helping them to get their products out from their farms and the worse is that they do not get paid a fare price for their products. You know who is going to pay for their product right there in the spot with out to go through so much misery? For pennies? The cartels!!!! Two pounds of paste feed their family for a couple of weeks. Trump acts like we make SOOOOO much here in the US that we can function alone. FALSE! We make damn near NOTHING here. We rely too heavily on other countries in every aspect of our lives; food, clothing/footwear, shelter/building construction material, automotive even down to hygiene products . These countries think he is a fool! Hike up tariffs for them and they will just take it out on us. Tariff is NOT going to control immigration. NO 1 president has ever 100% combated immigration.
