I'm a Canadian citizen. And I think it's the time when Canadian & US governments must think to build a border wall on the Northern border. I would hope you could find happiness in Canada. One of my concerns about living in a theocratic country would always be, is this choice really your own? Can you ever be certain, if faced with violations of your rights, that the choice is really yours? And, if not, can you consider yourselves as choosing Islam, rather than being forced into it, even if in absence of theocratic rule, you would have chosen it anyways? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I have the tendency to do that. I think if I were Muslim, I might choose Tunisia. I’ve known people from Tunisia and it sounds like they’re pretty open-minded, but still obviously predominantly Muslim. I’ve been to Dubai, and while I see many people recommending it, I honestly thought it was the worst combination of East and West. All the commercialization of the West, but none of the democracy. Plus, if you are not native Emiratis, you will always be second class. My son grew up in Quebec, and they have a double everything. Double taxes (not that bad after the tax deductions and credits), but they also Double the safety net and services, compared to the rest of Canada. Not only was childbirth free, so were the pre-natal courses and everything else, AND we got around 1000$/mo in childcare benefits, until he turned 18, with full of tax credits per kid. Plus, daycare was 5$/day back then, it's 7$/day almost 20 years later.. Pretty citizen friendly. \nThings MIGHT be changing though. Our conservatives are taking their talking points from the US GOP since COVID, and they are all-in to please their Oil lobby overlords and donators out in our prairies region. The big winners here are countries like Canada & Ireland who have recognised that in the 21st Century it's not coal, iron or even oil that brings wealth but rather being able to attract the best & brightest talent in the world.

The mistrust of Americans with each other stems from people like Trump and Fox news. \nI think as you said - Healthcare alone is enough for almost any Canadian. I don't know anyone that owns a gun, I don't know of anyone who has gone bankrupt for being sick, and I never worry my granddaughter going to school and being shot.

I'd be hard pressed to move to USA cuz your medical system prices, wages are less and so many people in a much smaller landscape. Id go for your constitution (1A, 2A) absolutely but Biden is a BIG turnoff for sure, your housing is way cheaper, your taxes are cheaper but... in Canada there is way more space where you can go and not see anybody besides moving to Northern Alaska, Montana or North Dakota. There are PROS and CONS to living in USA/Canada but I would move for dual citizenship and if I had guaranteed medical coverage but still keep a place in Canada to escape back to in case your country imploded under your current government or if I needed medical attention. It would be way better if you had a normal POTUS like Trump imo. Your money is at least worth the face value on the dollar bill... Cdn cash is like worth 50 cents US... we are like a peso currently.

There are so many scary things about the US right now. Drugs, crime, mass murders, accessibility to healthcare, terrorism, racial hate crimes, etc. The list is quite long. Not everyone is affected by all of these things (knock on wood). One thing that is disgusting is politics. It is not dangerous per se as the aforementioned so it is probably not fair to say it as a justification against moving to the US. However, it is very commonplace in the US, and it is very annoying. Politics is extremely toxic, aggressive, and divisive right now. One wrong comment out of your mouth in public, and people will be ready to fight you. Or on the flip side, you hear one wrong comment in public, it is best to bite your tongue. \n\nPolitics in the US was not always intolerable. It has always been a strong subject of discussion since forever. However, it became disgusting and overly obnoxious ever since Trump came into the scene. I think his elitist personality gave his supporters a green light to be more vocal about their own divisiveness. Combine that with social media, and you have a recipe for disaster... so much hate, divisiveness, and willingness to not bite one's tongue right now in the States. American politics is really overbearing. And monkey see and monkey do... it will leak into Canada. I guarantee it.

Many quit and students are losing interest—medicine won’t pay enough anymore to justify $500K in loans.\n\nWe could repeal every bit of Obamacare tomorrow and still not be able to fix it. The leviathan grew tentacles that released toxins into every nook and cranny of the system. Now that they have buried themselves in critical layers, it would be impossible to yank them out.\n\nI have a good PCP who is booked 6-8 weeks out. Specialists? Hah. GI, neuro, and derm? Nor can we claim to have eliminated racism. That takes time; it cannot be done by force.\n\nOur economy went from smokin hot to dumpster fire in a short span of time. Pre election, head hunters were shaking the trees to find job candidates.\n\nOur unemployment is up as are our taxes with the stomping out of the tax cuts. \n\nDespite the endless sloganeering about how the Trump tax cuts only benefited “rich” people, it’s quite the opposite.\n\nHigh earners lost their pet deductions and lower income taxpayers were quite pleasantly surprised when they did their returns. The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? I am an American born in NY, raised in VA. I also lived in Van Nuys for a year, also lived in Texas before my job industry moved me to Canada. \ni have been in Canada for 7yrs, been to Vancouver, Toronto and MTL and to be honest i like a lot of things in Canada like the health care differences and of course the lower insulin cost for my husband but i still want to go back home. If anything i would stay in Toronto because it's the closest similarity to home but where Aba and Preach live, in Montreal, it's literally been my nightmare. I feel like the tap water at least in my area has gotten worse over time. \nOne thing i feel like they didn't mention that I have to tell people from America to watch out for is the credit card vs debit card thing. \nI grew up only having debit cards because i didn't want to get into debt. when i came to Canada i continued getting a debit card and realized the hard way that not everything accepts debit cards and you NEED to also have a credit card to access certain things.\nbut overall i do feel much safer in Canada even though the crazy trump lovers are showing up here and there it's significantly less than i see when I'm back home.

Some people say come in legally, but he can't seek asylum just because he wanted to protect his family or want a better life for his children. It doesn't work that way. He has to have documentations or proof that his life or family's life is in DANGER. That is why he can't come in legally because he will not be approve on just those conditions, surprisingly even in Canada. When Trump was tough on the illegals on our southern borders, I remembered seeing Canada PM said they are welcomed in Canada. I guess many people heard it too and took him up on his offer. What happened Trudeau having to eat crow, eh?

Here's my message to illegal immigrants, liberals and the liberal media. This to the liberal media, Justin Trudeau said all the stuff he said about welcoming illegal immigrants with open arms and all of his Trump bashing also happened for one reason and one reason only. Because your cameras were rolling. It made him look good to all his liberal sheep and it made him feel good that he was standing up to the BIG BAD UNITED STATES AND THEIR BIG MEANIE PRESIDENT. He never for one minute meant what he was saying. Look back at all the things liberals like Chuck Schumer and Barack Obama himself were saying about illegal immigration when Obama was president. Back then they sounded exactly like Donald Trump. Even Justin Trudeau in the video clip they show in this video. I bet you people at Vice News even still think Justin Trudeau is some great awesome prime minister for standing up to the big mean US president. Yet you can't see past your rose colored glasses that he really isn't going to do a damn thing to help the illegal immigrants he promised to welcome. He'll deport them just like the big mean president. He'll just wait till they've spent all their money in Canada first.
