As an American living abroad, it’s embarrassing to see my home country picking unnecessary fights with one of its closest allies. My family back home is already dealing with rising costs, and this kind of reckless economic policy only makes things worse. Trump bragging about ‘punishing’ Canada is like punching your best friend in the face and then wondering why your hand hurts. Short-sighted, unnecessary, and ultimately self-destructive.

Because, if the tariffs have the expected consequences, trade between both your countries will decrease, meaning less trucks on the roads, meaning less fossiles fuels, less production, less consumption, meaning less emissions of CO2.
