I've honestly never really thought of it but as a Canadian that moved to the UK (Scotland specifically) it is crazy to have it broken down this way. My partner (Scottish) and I talked about the pros and cons in living in either country and we came to the conclusion is was better to live in the UK. TBF she is an engineer and in the future it may be better to live in Canada but right now between the salary and time off (20 day (CAD) vs her current 40 days off plus flexible working days (equals out to more like 44)) it's better to live in Scotland. I was also able to find a much better high paying job here in the UK (Edinburgh no less) than anywhere in Canada and have continued to work here in the UK cheaper.\n I hope to move back to Canada one day but don;' know if it will ever be possible.

Too much spice and unnecessary talk talk

International students are allowed to work part time for 20 hours/week. If we are allowed to work legally what’s the purpose of stating that the jobs should be reserved for ‘Canadians’ only. Education is a big market in Canada and Canadian government is making good amount of money from International students. International students pay 2-3 times more for education than Canadian students. You don’t mention this in your videos. If you’re not bias talk on both sides of the picture. The problem lies with the Government that they allowed so many immigrants to enter this country and thus this became a problem. You’ve not done any in depth research about International students and how much fees they pay. We also have to pay GIC in the bank work $10000 to sustain if we don’t get a job here. We are prepared if we don’t have a job but if we are legally allowed to work part time 20 hours/week, why shall we not do that?? Please reply to this question logically

Just today, saw an interview from an immigration agent encouraging people to move to Canada. Did he talk about high taxes and living costs, foul weather and housing crises? Not at all, he spoke as though it was still the 2000s and Canada was the place to move to. Will he be held accountable when the people he's advised to move there find out they earn a little more but pay much higher taxes? Not something I'll be betting on.

Lifetime Canadian here; housing crisis for sure, but what`s even more insidious is many entry level jobs such as fast food industry, production workers in factories, and even culturally significant cornerstones such as Canadian Tires are being owned and operated by East Indians, going so far as to play Indian music over their loudspeakers for us Canadians (both at a McDonald`s and at a Canadian Tire). It`s obnoxious and border lining on reverse racism; because trust me, these people will drive out all the nationals, and replace them with their own temporary workers, whom they have much more control over, and are likely infringing on human rights concerns (taking passports, multiple human occupancy housing), it`s a mess here. If you live in Ontario, Alberta (lots of Indian corruption there and in BC) and British Columbia, you know exactly what I am talking about.\n\nI am actively trying to get out of Ontario and ultimately and ideally, Canada.

I don't understand how anyone could NOT be worried about children getting shot in schools. Once every 10 years is way too much. Now it happens multiple times a year. First and foremost, Canada has a society problem. It is devoid of energy. To much rules, and restrictions. Lacks social activities, lacks life and energy in essence. People become bored, isolated, depressed and preserved. No social interactions, no competitiveness, no sport, no outdoors, no zeal, no enthusiasm. People barely talk to each other for fear of some dump privacy and security.\n\nThen on the other end for professional, too many protocols and licensing requirements for every single thing.\n\nIt is just too laidback for a modern society.\n\nFor me, I think the society needs to open up.

The consul officer should stay calm and stand on his ground on what behavior is acceotable or not, whether the applicant was annoying, talking loud, recording video which if that allowed or not, no matter how much documents they brought in to the officer if there's reason to deny their request if it's reasonable. I would have just to say to applicant I am sorry i cannot give you a visa. These applicants seems theyre more harrasing the officer, the fact that theyre videoing the officer for their own good. This is missing SOOOO much of the actual story of what is going on over here. There is a lot of corruption in our housing market fueled by faked incomes just for starters. That's not including the massive supply and demand crunch we are facing on multiple fronts from having too much people suddenly, to having not enough housing suddenly. For those curious, you can find some CBC marketplace videos that cover some of this from a couple years back. The banks have been caught f'ing around as well, what with pushing through mortgage requests that should never have been allowed to occur; and that's just what we know about. \n\nNo offense to anyone in this video, or anyone else like them. We know that a good large chunk of most of you are not at fault here with what's going on. But there are some people from all sorts who are all doing their own dirty little deeds, and they are culminating into the gigantic pile of BS that the rest of us now get to deal with. \n\nAnd make no mistake, what I am saying is not even close to the full extent of the BS going on. This is just one facet of it. There still is the universities mentioned that we need to talk about, whom have been fleecing internationals for years now. Or our employers who have gotten real used to having access to basically almost slave labor by comparison the wages and employees they would have to normally deal with. \n\nAnd again, none of this is being said to blame those who come here looking for a better life. In California, Ontario at the Warehouse for designer purses i wont say which one, we have 2 immigrants who came here less than 4 months ago, they have been housed and given money and job permits. Noone at work talk to them much bc they keep to themselves. We have a homeless coworker with her dog and she is living in her car she brings dog to work too, but these 2 illegal aliens are clean, happy, well fed and are dressed nice everyday. The both have kids too who are in school already.\n\n\n The company gets money for hiring them. A bonus they called it. I love my job but scre that.

I don't know why the media don't talk about the refugees that are being flooded into the country, who enjoy free tax money while International students pay 4-5 times higher fees than local students, and work for much lesser wages than others. Thankfully at least one media speaks for them.

I lived in Canada for over 20 long suffering cold years. My rent in 1982 in Kamloops for a large two bedroom appartment was 105 bucks a month. Then when I moved back to Toronto and got an apartment right on Young at Grosvenor our rent shot up to a tough 620 bucks a month (all utilities included) but I was making a lot of money so it seemed like the good life. I wonder how expensive that luxury high rise is today? Probably about $4500 per month would be my guess. Canadians don't like to talk of the negatives in Toronto, but I feel really sorry for some of my family still there. My mother in law broke her back. All they could do is give her pain killers for the four months before she could get penciled in for surgery. And that was before it all went to hell. It's nice to see so many shots of places that were once so much a part of my life, but in all honesty moving to the States was the best thing I ever did. It was in fact like an escape from madness. Now similar crazyness is here, even on the South East coast of the US. Time to look for another escape. Any suggestions?\nOh, and my friends cousin got murdered in the Jane and Finch area years ago. As a doctor in Turkey, I can say that some people decide what disease they have by looking on the internet or talking to their neighbors or friends. I'm really tired of this ignorance. I don't know what doctors experience in Canada. The most important part when diagnosing a disease is the patient's complaints, history of complaints, chronic diseases, whether there is a similar disease in his family, and physical examination. Tests normally do not have much significance in diagnosis. We perform tests mostly to support our diagnosis and to follow the course of the disease. The most important part is the history and physical examination. Diagnosing themselves is nothing but ignorance. This is not what we want.

I'm not muslim, but I've lived and worked in Saudi where Islam permeates every facet of life. I also lived in worked in Malaysia where Muslims make up the majority. Both countries have their advantages and disadvantages. As you have a Canadian passport you're more likely to get a better job in Saudi. No guarantee of that in Malaysia. \nI found the food better in Malaysia, but the food in Saudi is pretty darn good too. \nWinter in Saudi is very nice, at least where I lived in Khobar. However, it is brutally hot for 7-8 months a year. Malaysia is tropical, meaning its very warm to hot with high humidity and rain. \nI can't talk about other countries as I haven't that much experience. Wherever you go, best of luck.

As a Canadian, born and raised, I am much more proud to be a Canadian than if I were to be a U.S. or U.K. citizen, given the way they are regarded in most of the word. I have travelled Europe extensively, Central America, as well as parts of SE Asia. \n\nCanada is indeed expensive and has become moreso because we too easily accept the rising prices, just so we can feel good being a Canadian. Tipping culture is ridiculous, even for bad service, many feel the need to tip 15% because of fear of being regarded as a cheapskate or avoiding offending the service provider. Companies should be paying their staff a better wage where 20%+ tips are not expected for every restaurant, cafe or delivery service. We're helping corporations make more profit by subsidizing their staffing expense. This isn't the case in most of the world. \n\nMy eyes were opened when I saw how you can live an equally good life at a third or less of the cost and I have grown open to the idea of living elsewhere once I have enough money to retire early (I'm talking around 55) and enjoy life without feeling cash-strapped. World class private medical care can be found for prices that are unbelievable and without the multiple appointments and wait times.\n\nI will always be a Canadian first, but there is room for a second citizenship or a backup plan should living in Canada become an impossible place to live or retire, unless you begin with a financial advantage. By no means am I poor, either. I got lucky with both real estate and stocks. Yet, I feel like I am working to just get by, while being taxed well beyond what I am getting in return.

i was talking with a coworker today who had a good job in brazil , farm , house etc . he sold everything he had to bring his family to canada . now he dosent own in canada and has no savings driving an old vehicle that barely runs . i’m just like why are people like this struggling so much in a country that once was easy to find jobs and make good money ? my advice is if your doing good where you are don’t think the grass is greener on the other side .
