Hey kimlit thank the Conservative for GST and HST. GST introduced by Mulroney in 1991. Free trade caused our manufacturing collapse. Harper, Conservative raised the retirement age to 67 and he changed the law to allow foreign govts to own more than 50% of Canadian companies. These young CanMagas don’t know about our history. The Conservative Party started and continues to be the party of the rich and big business. Look who is backing IDU organization…Koch Brothers, Mike Roman and other oligarchs. In a best case scenario, DJT will rescind the tariffs on Canadian goods. In the worst case, we get even poorer. If this happened after Trump became president the first time, the economy was strong from 4 years of Obama's presidency. Then COVID happened, and for alot of folks here, they haven't recovered financially. Savings and retirement plans are gone. Rent is higher, for many it takes over 50% of their income. So in this emergency time, there's nothing to fall back on. Oh and DOGE will cut SNAP benefits, I'm sure. That's food stamps, meant for the people struggling. It's becoming more and more of Americans. \nAm I depressed? No, I lived through Reagan's presidency. I'm cautious about life, my job, commuting to work, putting food on the table. I'm gonna try growing veggies. I already eat 75% of my meals at home or taken from home-cooked meals. I'm saving as best I can.

I own a design agency in LA, this affected all my brands and my clients brands more than 50% in profits already, I’m trying to adjust their business models but is not gonna work, the consumers will have to pay the price, there is no other way around, businesses won’t survive without their profits.

Need an immediate 50% tax on Americans buying Canadian real estate. Prices are already dropping in many areas and with the low dollar, easy pickings for Americans to ‘invest’ in real estate.

Trump is completely unreasonable. There is no sense dealing with him, period. If it is going to be 25% or even 50% with reciprocal tariffs, we simply DO NOT import American goods into Canada (if our retailers don't order them, there is nothing they can do) and if we export, the consumer is paying those tariffs and we continue to manufacture. I honestly think that is the best, maybe the only, solution. If tariffed countries stop buying American goods, maybe Trumputin will reconsider. And if he doesn't, he doesn't. He isn't known for his brain power.

My Canadian health products I use for my colon has gone up 50% today. Unemployed, prices high at grocery store and my stock investments I use to survive and pay my bills tanked as market has reached bottom. Thanks to Trump we Americans will go on a recession and a depression soon.

welcome to European life pay tax for everything, in EU we pay 20-30% of VAT and up 50% of our salary go to gov.. so yeah we poor in EU as we pay up to 70%-80% in taxes (depends on EU country) but basically yeah happy life.. basically we pay for healtcare and universities , so that 3rd world people could get free education ..
