As a Canadian we are more open to immigtation . There are still laws. I myself am an immigrant. This piece shows one story out of thousands yearly. Without knowing specific details it is tough to judge. I know and have met quite a few refugees that have gained legal status within the past few years. We are not perfect by any means but the government does a good job, in my opinion. There must still be a vetting process. I hope this family has found stability

When I was in college they had tested people and found that if a woman was a writer they found out that there was a basis against women writers. They thought that women could not write as well as men, which didn't make any sense. What about Agatha Christie? She is considered one of the best women mystery writers of all time. I had a recent experience traveling with friends to Friday Harbor in Washington State near Victoria Island. It was a touristy spot in the PNW. There are 4 of us that day - 3 asians and 1 white . My white friend needed to use the restroom so the three of us went to a tourist information center. When we walked in the two white ladies just ignored us didn’t say hi or anything and we were not paying attention at first until my white friend walked in . one lady immediately got up and greeted him. And when she found out that the white guy is friend with the other 3 asians She started to talk to all of us but the entire time she only had eye contact with my white friend. It was kinda weird for me. It was not a bad experience but you noticed the skin color do make a difference in how people treated you in the US.

There is nothing in the Quran about covering your face/head. That stuff is found in the Hadith. And Muslims pick and choose which Hadith they follow (even when they are found in the same books). For example, they ignore the Hadiths that talk about the FIRST version of Islam, called the Satanic Verses (Muhammad recanted that version of Islam, saying that the first angel he talked to told him the wrong things because it was actually a devil disguised as an angel). If they accept that Hadith, they have to accept that if Muhammad could be tricked by a devil the first time, what is to say that he couldn't be tricked a second time? Also, the Quran was not written down until much later, it was memorized by certain people. After a major battle a lot of those people were killed, so they had all of the remaining people write it down and there were many discrepancies (not just linguistic problems, but actual ideas that were completely different). The person in charge of compiling the versions burned all of the copies after he created one Quran. And since Muhammad was the last prophet and God only talks to prophets according to Islam, there is no way he could have had divine direction to know which to keep and which verses to scrap. There are entire books missing (such as the books that were eaten by a goat). \nNow that we have access to the Hadiths (they weren't translated to English until the 21st century) we are finding out a lot more about the history of Islam, and Muslims don't like it.

I went and viewed 3 vacant apartment in a building. Available immediately. I was ready to take one. I noticed, as we went to each apartment that they were all inhabited by Polish people. I took one of these tests years ago, and I wasn't surprised to find out I had a moderate preference for African Americans over European Americans, because I was born and raised in Detroit, but I also found out I saw Asians as 'Less Foreign' than White people... Such generalizations. After listening for just one minute I conclude that you found out that lumping everybody into the same basket was stupid but it took you 25 years to find that out. Wow! More people are killed or injured traveling in car than in a mountain bike. There are 50 states in the USA so most statements you make may refer to just one or two states. Canada has 10 provinces and the health care is slightly different in each province. Wait until you have lived in any country for a few years before you can talk authoritatively about it. Canada is a good country to live in so is Australia but even better are some or the northern or western countries in Europe where health care is affordable and good and food is affordable and good. The USA has more millionaires and billionaires and a lot of them are in government. Think about that. Lots of guns and judging by the news quite a few racist cops who never get punished. Think about that too. Bad water in many places; also worth thinking about. There are more lobbyists than there are legislators and they all make money; think about that and ask yourself why.

I find it hard to see Islamic belief as a religion. Because you never hear of near death experience! All near death documentation, in both the sciences and secular information. Says that one either goes to hell, or gets to meet a being of light, Jesus . I have searched for years, for this information in my studies. AND IN MY 30YRS OF STUDY HAVE NEVER FOUND ANY, I have asked Moslum friends directly. But they too have never heard of anyone with a different experience then those I've above mentioned. Why is this?

They sought refuge and a livelihood in Canada free from threats of death, fear of imprisonment, torture, hunger and poverty. The aspect of Islam (easy oil money which is now beginning to run out) which made a lazy bunch of people even lazier and accustomed to an ignorant and arrogant way of life is what is causing a problem now.\nWomen who choose to wear a covering are the ones who believe that their own forms are either evil, evoke evil or just plain ugly and unsightly. Personally, I have seen scantily clad western women sunning themselves on beaches without inviting a second glance. It's the Muslims who are dirty minded enough to call this dirty. Ugliness breeds ugliness and the niqab. Muslim women who defend the covering - you are now exposed, so shut up.

They're the police and firefighters who keep us safe, and the men and women in uniform who have fought and bled and died for our freedom.\nRight now, though, many Muslim Americans are worried because threats and harassment against their community, their families and their children are on the rise. But we are one American family, and an attack on one faith is an attack on all our faiths. When any religious group is targeted, we all have a responsibility to speak up. We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion. At a time when others are trying to divide us along religious lines, we have to\nreaffirm that most fundamental truth – that we are all God's children, all born equal with inherent dignity.\nI want every Muslim American who may be wondering where they fit in to know that you're right where you belong - right\nhere, because you're part of America, too. You are not Muslim or American. You are Muslim AND American. I want every American to know that Muslim communities are standing up for peace and justice as well. That's the spirit I felt on my visit today. And I'm absolutely confident that if we stay true to the values and ideals that bind us as one people, we're going to\nremain strong and united.

You know what ...\n\neverythings fucked in some sense. I don't mind, nor is it my business how another life wishes to exist. The only thing I know is that In Canada there have been many fundamental aspects that are maintained by Canadians. Such as freedom of expression, freedom from limitations based off of sex or other social cliches and so on. \nSure we tolerate all different ways of life. This is a new wave of idealogies that will bring back the old imprisoning features, just with a new way of presenting it. We eventually found a harmony with Christianity. We will Find one with Islam. \n\nI really dont understand this religion though. I dont get why a women would want to conceal what she is. I guess I have to research it... I got more important things to do though than to read some other persons doctrine on how to exist thankyou very much.

Canadians have lived their lives being seen and heard, since the beginning. Seeing the faces of hidden Canadians, and to hide one's face becomes suspicious. Women of the Middle East should be GLAD, if not more, to have found a Country where they can continue to embrace their religion WITHOUT hiding their faces. Finally a safe place where they can be themselves, face and all!

i am a pakistani christian i know when i was in the UK the govt cracked down on one innocient pak christian famly who were living in nelson, north west england. they deported them despite knowing that they had well founded fear in pakistan, they were escorted by two police officers who travelled with them to dubai. so the uk govt is very good in removing persecuted pakistani christians but affraid of muslims.
