Express entry system which provide invitations for PRs are directly linked to the job market. so, if you are in a high demand sector, you can get the PR. \nJust having a Canadian degree doesn't guarantee it. you have to have work experience in these high demand sectors and with current job market, it's impossible to find a job. \nAnd for these students who protest, government has already extended their work permit once. and if you can't find a job in 3 years, then you are no longer needed by the country. I am an Indian and I am disgusted to see what fellow Indians have done to Canada! They come here with their total lack of civic sense! I was born and raised in Calcutta as we navigated daily through filth and dirt on the streets - not only because of the poor on the street - but bec of everyone else who walks around and thinks nothing of throwing their garbage on the streets, spitting and blowing their noses on the streets and even in buildings - stairway landings, or peeing in the open - in public spaces or against building walls, etc.. Narcissistic, selfish drivers who cut people off, break the traffic rules, grab parking spots, etc.. They come here and make every effort to Indianize Canada - to make this into India instead of respecting this country that has generously and (ignorantly!!) allowed them in!! If they want to live their Indian culture in an 'Indian environment' - then for goodness sake - GO BACK TO INDIA and clean up that country your call your 'matri bhoomi' - your Mother!! The presenter is right - Indians (and Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis too included here - all with the same mentality!) have dragged down the customer service experience in stores and restaurants. Indians are usually polite but they are not good at maintaining a high standard of customer service! Employees in Walmart, Costco, Tim Hortons (especially!), etc., are seen standing around, chatting with each other in their Indian languages instead of being professionally attentive to customers. The shopping experience is not pleasant like it was 25 years ago!! I was born in Canada and applied for a part-time job at a restaurant around the corner by an Indian employment agency. I have multiple years experience. I was told to report to the manager, who was a Sikh. I did online training and never scheduled. I was never paid for my training and told I was not needed and would have to reapply. Everyone who works at this restaurant is south-Asian or from India. Why do we need workers from 12,000 km away when people around the corner are looking for work? It's literally like a summer camp with students from India. The Trudeau government never should have increased immigration so quickly. Major mistake.

Eastern countries culture will never be watered down, yet we aren’t allowed to keep our westernised countries. I have no issue with being a multi-cultural country (Australia), however I take issue with multiculturalism. Immigrants of the past, would move to a westernised country and adopt the culture, lifestyle , mix with the locals and be proud to be one of them, that’s a multi-racial society. Multiculturalism on the other hand is Muslims and Indians etc that are known for not assimilating, instead living in enclaves and recreating their home country within our country. Why should these people who have zero interest in our culture , people and way of life be welcomed into our westernised countries where all they care about is using our resources? It’s absolutely absurd our governments allow this to happen! In Australia, Indians are the second highest intake, soon to be number one. There are so many of them, soon Australia will be India and Australians of all nationalities will be the minority in our own country. They buy up all the food businesses in the area, and fire all the non-Indians, they take up all the jobs in IT and low paying jobs due to being cheap labour. In teams, they ostracised the non-Indians on the team. Aussie suburbs now look like parts of India with them having multiple local fb networking groups where hoards of them take over the local park, playing their music loudly on the weekends. Ignorant people see them as mild mannered, they don’t see the dangers of how racist they can be to non-Indians and how rapidly they take over areas. When they become the majority in Australia, the non-Indians are going to be pushed out of their country. Unlike other migrants (with the exception of Muslims) they refuse to blend in and co-exist and become Aussies. They plan to overtake and destroy our countries into versions of their home country hell holes.

It's bad that this situation has risen... But it's self inflicted by the Indian Students themselves... On the pretext of studies... They come to Canada and do all the odd jobs except studies especially the students who study in colleges (not University)... During the peak COVID times, the immigration allowed even a college students to bring in their partner (including those who are in conjugal relationships) which again bloated the influx substantially... Needless to say the immigration scamsters in India, Canada and throughout the globe took advantage of this going to the extent of faking the IELTS and few other documents... Good! Let them study in their own ciuntry. They do have goid schoold in their country. The government is jyst doing whats goid for their own citizens. They shouldnt have to compete with immigrants for job opportunities un their own country. Every country should prioritize and give oportunities to their own citizens. These will prevent massive migration from other countries and pushed yheir country of origin to create a better working environment for its people, strive for innovative technologies and industries where their own citizens can work. These wil also forced these migrants to work within the framework of their own countries politic, policies and human issues. Running away to anither country for protection and a better life us not a solution, fighting for your belief, principles and for a better nation. It takes years and a lit if sacrifice. Blame companies who are hiring these immigrants for lower wages to increase profits for company and shareholders. Company's management also benefit because higher profit means bigger salaries and bonuses for management staff. These companies are not willing to pay higher salaries which the Canadian citizens are demanding. So the immigrants are filling these jobs at lower pay. Hopefully these new government restrictions will curtail of these activities.

They are actually cunningly acting like they do not know what they have done. First they invited immigrants more than they can handle. Now they have taken good amount of fees from the international students and now they are telling them only that they are a burden to their economy. Such a cunning and 2 faced government. Their other provinces are so under developed that they do not even have proper public transportation there. So who will settle there with no jobs and other such necessary services. Regardless of what the goal is, it is destroying Canada. At the end of the day the main issue is the Government used Indian students to supplement the economy at the expense of the Canadian citizens. Now in 2024 the Trudeau liberals still refuse to pause it because of the economic impact it will have on their corporate friends and the schools. They also subsidize immigrant students which incentivises businesses to only hire Indian students. Canadians can't find affordable housing or a minimum wage job and Indians are paying the price. I too will be gone from Canada soon. I loved Canada growing up. Now, not so much. Freezing cold, stupid cost of living, taxes through the roof, too much immigration when we can`t even take care of our own, homelessness and unaffordable housing. And i have a house, 37 year government job, single with no kids, retiring next year.....And i`m still leaving.

In Canada, there used to be a difference between ‘immigrant’ & ‘refugee’. Trudeau and his government have made these two groups into one. My family immigrated from England in the 1950s. My father had to have a job waiting for him when we arrived. We had to go through health checks. My parents had to prove that we had a specific amount of money so that we would not be a drain on Canada. Trudeau has opened the border to anyone wanting to come no matter if they have anything to offer Canada.

Governments are lying to potential immigrants. I work with a guy who said he was told that his qualifications would be recognized when he landed and to not worry about anything. Upon arrival he applied for a job in his field and was told that his qualifications were not recognized. He was then told that he wold have to complete the equivalent of 4 years night school to receive accreditation. He wonders why he came but cant afford relocate back to his original home since it was sold and they used everything to come to a western country. He wasnt prepared for the cost of living and is now stuck in a country even he doesn't want to be in.

I moved to Australia from Canada over 20 years ago. After the draconian lockdowns and being forced out of my job by j mandates, I've wanted to get the hell out of this country. Since Labor won all state elections and the federal election, things have taken a serious downturn. It's a big clown show. The state government here in Victoria, home of Dictator Dan, has racked up such a colossal debt that there's just no way out of it. They're raising taxes and making up new ones as the go along into the abyss. There's nothing here but a big real estate bubble and when it pops, there will be tent cities all over the place. The government created the problem just like in Canada. They increased the population by 1.6% in ONE SINGLE YEAR with immigration and now there's not enough housing to meet demand. The lockdowns took all my savings and a chunk of my superannuation to just survive, and I was robbed of over a year of earnings by the government. I've been stuck in this massively over-priced hovel for 3 years longer than I had planned and now would be lucky to even be in the top 20 picks for a rental, at twice the price. It's only a matter of time before the job market implodes due to business closures and the all around terrible climate in which to start new business. I want out, but the prospect of returning to Canada is beyond depressing. Everything that drove me out of Canada in the first place is 10x worse now. My other alternative is UK but I don't feel like going to prison for liking memes about Keir Starmer on Facebook, so UK is out of the question. Not to mention that it's economically doomed and has a worse healthcare system than Canada. There are lines around city blocks to get into a GP clinic.

I'm Canadian born and raised. My grandparents came from England after WW2 for a better life and sadly the Canada that they immigrated to is long dead. \n\nThe lack of opportunity and the insane policies of the federal government has severely decimated the quality of life in Canada. I wanted to start a family and own a home, nothing huge or extravagant, just something to call my own and all of that seemed impossibly out of reach to me. I had a somewhat well-paying job and lived within my means and I could not seem to get ahead. I didn't own a large or new vehicle, rarely ate out and would always try to buy used. Still, I could barely save or invest anything. \n\nNot wanting to live in a place that just wants me to be poor, lonely and unhealthy I pulled the trigger and left for Eastern Europe. I have no regrets and while it has been a difficult and stressful process, it has been well worth it.

I moved to Germany 5 years ago presently I have a skilled job offer from last 3 months just waiting for the Immigration Office to change my employer name from 2 months.This is Germany they want you but they don’t help you ! I have a job offer but I am unemployed because of the bureaucracy! No one helps and very slow paced work culture specifically in the government sector plus if you’re a people of colour you are treated like you don’t belong here !

I agree with you leaving. I am a 3rd generation retired Canadian who used to be proud to be so. Now I am not, in fact I am embarrassed to say I am Canadian as it is nothing to be proud of. I think of how good things were in the 70's and 80's while I was young and now how bad things are today and it is truly depressing. Back then if you are willing to work, you could make a decent living, buy a car, a house and raise a family - today, good luck with that. The people in the west have had no say in the faulty governments we have had as Ontario and Quebec have put the final nails in our coffin when they elected that buffoon JT for a third consecutive term and then the NDP kisses his butt to join up and torture us more when most sane Canadians did not ask for this. JT is truly an embarrassment for this country although the US is in step with comatose Joe. I feel sorry for the kids and many others that are trying to survive, make a living and buy houses. Reverse discrimination has been at play for 20 years or so but is really out of control these days when a white Canadian kid that has got 5 yr honours degree in University has trouble finding a job today because you are the wrong colour. Our national anthem was changed a number of years back for no good reason. Immigrants are being imported by this idiot called our PM and handed out living accommodations, jobs and our hard earned $$ that he stole from us while our own people fall deeper into the quagmire. Many of these immigrants are bringing their hatreds and views with them to are country and are causing chaos. We are heavily taxed for driving our cars and heating our houses on FALSE pretenses with the govt saying it is to save the world - nice try - BS. The government and schools are pushing the alphabet children protocol per the WEF. These are just a few things that are wrong with this country that is sinking quicker than the Titanic. I moved from Canada to the US 24 years ago. When I left I was worried about how expensive the US was, the crime rate, etc. It’s ironic that since then homes are more expensive, job opportunities have not kept pace with the US and the population has exploded. I am unabashedly pro immigration but the issue in Canada is a government that dramatically expanded immigration with no plan to address the housing stock until it was too late. That is ripping through the economy and tearing apart the country. I hope Canadians can find a good way out. ?

I worked for a Canadian company for 25 years living in the USA, California / Silicon Valley specifically and spent days in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver - great place but probably has been run-down by wrong Government policies just like the USA - first blame is always on immigrants even though majority of them (especially in the USA) do jobs that Americans or Canadians do not want to do - farm work, construction work and services while 50% do get proper education and find good jobs and build up the community\nPolitics in the USA and Canada has gone so bad in recent years almost everyone is thinking of moving back to native country or find other affordable places - easier decision at the age of 33 but not 66\nWherever you go, I am guessing it will be around Bali, good luck and may you have all the success you strive for and deserve!

In my city people at the shopping center loose their jobs and are replaced by immigrants because the salaries of immigrants are financed by the governement aka your money.

canada's immigration policies are so transparently set up to benefit the rich: they are necessary because they prop up high property values by increasing demand and suppress wages by increasing labour supply. none of my friends can afford to leave their parents' house. most of my peers are finding it takes months or over a year to find a job. millions more people every year but no increase in healthcare capacity. the government has betrayed canadians

I was going to say the immigrant only thing is one thing on TOP of the INSANE pricing... you gotta be a girl working and can't have ANY vice or plan on having ANY kind of life or freedom even though you pay to live there, even working a full time job you will be struggling and majority of these lower rent places were great and usually always been for students no matter what your sex or where you are from to which if you are getting government money to attend school you can only work a certain amount of hours with that funding for school being BARELY enough to get by and forget about it if you have disability you get slightly more but NO landlord wants you if you have disability.... Landlords need to be stopped and controlled.

I would like to remind people in my opinion. It's not immigrants fault its fault of government for telling them they can get work and support. Apparently, 40 percent are trying to get back home and leave canada because they cant get jobs either.

I love immigrants, they're what make our country so special all the different cultures coming together. The problem right now is because of terrible government mismanagement we don't have enough housing or jobs for everyone already here. That's my only reason for wanting to pause immigration. It's like being on a life raft that's already full, you can't take more even if you want to.

It’s not racism. Canada is a nation of immigrants. Immigrants are always welcome. The problem is that there is a housing crisis in Canada. Increasing numbers of of Canadians are becoming homeless and ending up in homeless shelters or in tents encampments. There is a belief by many that our government is allowing in ever growing numbers of immigrants while at the same time marginalizing long term Canadians. In addition to a lack of affordable housing, there are not enough jobs. My son, a university student, had trouble finding a summer job. Temporary foreign workers were taking jobs that Canadians would normally do. No wonder there is a def of resentment against immigrants. The Canadian government is at fault for mismanaging both our economy and the imm system.

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. Our politicians are selling us down the drain-i.e. all those who are not in the upper middle class or the elites. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE !

The only solution to this is government should freeze bringing immigrants and pathway for students to become immigrants for few years until Canada overcomes with it's own poverty. Majority of people do not have a standard life in Canada now. Canadian born children have hard time to find jobs and their future is uncertain now. Government is totally responsible for creating this disaster.

The government says we need immigrants to fill the jobs left by retiring boomers. Millennials, plus GenX ers out number Boomers so there are lots of people out there to fill jobs. Corporations like Mac Donalds, Tim Hortons etc. want immigrants so they can keep their costs low and make even more money.

Is not being anti immigration, is awareness that government isn't doing the job to keep Canadians with enough jobs, services and homes before opening a gate to anyone to come and take advantage of the $y$tem, which is US the hard-working OVERLY TAXED CANADIANS. FED UP WITH THIS BS!!

Man I love reading the comments in this video! We also face a similar challenge in other countries that housing is a crisis and governments keep bringing in all sorts of immigrants, from refugees to highly skilled people (like myself). I have switched 5 cities and the story either gets more worse or less worse. Half a year searching for a decent apartment? Some search for years! It's a full time job. The government gets back to my request after many months! Foreigners offices are packed with applications and citizenship is taking years long now. Getting a doctor appointment (psychological issues) within a year is hard, unless you pay from pocket or are in grave danger. We are being squeezed in here and they started new loose immigration policies to be more attractive to foreigners. Address the quality of life at the same time!

Does the government really care about its people? Why do these governments care about international community laws rather than creating more job opportunities? Something is not okay ?. Why do you care more about immigrants than the Canadian natives?

The Canadian government subsidizes the wages of workers from India through a work-study arrangement. Most of the unskilled work in my small town (fast food and restaurants in particular) is taken by these students from India, while the teens and adults who have lived in the town their entire lives cannot get jobs because of it. My tax dollars are helping huge corporations pay wages of foreign workers, and my own child and MANY others were turned down for employment by these same companies. Not sure where these workers are living, because there is also a housing crisis in our area. Our immigration system is failing immigrants and Canadians alike.
