Canada is fast becoming a 3rd world country, its such a shame. I'm from an immigrant family, everyone is accepting of immigrants here, but the government clearly went into overdrive for reasons no one can comprehend, and ALL from one single country to boot. The students are just the tip of the iceberg.

I supervise a lot of immigrants, the majority are problematic and less productive than the local population. This is all about universities making bank and corporations paying people less, nothing more. A country doesn't need immigrants, it needs a financially stable and safe environment to raise children that will become the productive workforce and innovators.

if you earn less money then you don't pay that much tax for health care. I've never paid over 15% of my income for income tax and because I earn so little I don't pay monthly health care premiums they are just free. The reason I earn so little is because I have a 3yo and no options for childcare when his dad is working so I can only work when his dad is not working. As a result I get the maximum canadian childcare benefit (CCB). Although the main reason I haven't left canada yet besides family, is the clean drinking water, relatively clean air (I live in a rural area) and low levels of environmental diseases (malaria, hep B, dengue, zika, cholera, parasites etc). I keep trying to find a country that can offer clean drinking water and clean environment with decent climate and soil for growing food, and decent health care and work opportunities. If anyone has any suggestions for countries like this to research I'd love to hear them.

The federal government's goal is to attract immigrants who have the capital, income earning potential (skills), and desire to be comfortable in Canada. It's clearly not easy to settle here. My great grandparents had to build not only their house but their whole town (its community, services, systems), and I doubt it's easier for immigrants today. It's probably even harder, psychologically, because immigrants now are surrounded by others who've already settled. Immigrating to a country with a lower cost of living is probably easier, but Canada's peace, multiculturalism, nature, and growth policies are quite attractive. (I've lived elsewhere, so I can compare.)

I came to Canada 35yrs ago from Singapore. The myth of coming to Canada to be rich is broken. People are living better lives in Singapore or Thaiand. If schools want to bring international students to this country, then they have to provide in campus residence for them. No international student should be allowed to compete with Canadians for housing outside campus.

I went to Conestoga college, and I wish your mon read my words. Canadians, should consider that international students are paying around 20k yearly to Canada Colleges institutions that are not offering better education than the one provided in their own countries for way less than 30k. Other developed countries, like Germany or Belgium offer the same programs to international students for around 8k yearly, but, the international students rather come to Canada which also offer an easier path to become PR. But then, they crash with the reality and they realize that even many Indians can't speak proper English to be competitive in a Canadian College or in a Canadian company. Unfortunately, Canadians educational institutions know that the English spoken by international students is not enough but, they send them an acceptance letter from the institution so they can come and study in Canada. So, the real problem are the Canadian public colleges and Universities accepting people with a poor English level from overseas. Canada is a great place to be but, this kind of actions make their productivity poor which is in reality the problem behind the bad economy development when compare with similar developed countries. So, your mon should first blame its own country policies and educational institutions rather than international students for that kind of behaviors when they are students. Also, you should put your self in their shoes, learn German and go to Germany and see how easy is to manage to get a waitress job only in German in a city like Cologne. And then remember that this international students are bringing 20k from their countries economy to Canada each one yearly. Know, think how many Canadians bring 20k yearly to India or Nepal... My pension income is sufficient for me to live since I returned to Canada and I have better than adequate healthcare and dental care! Now Turd, who has never been competent to be PM, which his long list of scandals should easily prove, is going to compel the election of another incompetent self-serving politician. I blame the federal immigration policy. Too many people are being let into the country without investing jnto infrastructure such as housing and health care.

I suggest you consider a Muslim South-East Asian country such as Malaysia, Indonesia, or Brunei. You wouldn't have to deal with winter. The cost of living is much cheaper than Canada. You would be surrounded by fellow Muslims in a nation that respects and promotes Islam.

Canada has really gone downhill in the last few years. I got here on 2017 and it was an entirely different country. I was diagnosed with cancer that year and was cancer free by 2018 thanks to Canada's health care system. If that happened in 2023 I don't think I would have made it to 2024.
