The main reason why we Indians are leaving Canada is because its full of Indians & Chinese. There is no European/Western World's feeling. Not too many speak proper English, either the compatriates are Chinese or Punjabies and none of them can speak proper English. But just for name sake, the families of the Indians can be proud that their kids are studying in Canada, its a status symbol.

Naturally they have no model to compare with other than stories from their elders as to how things used to be. So they have blindly accepted the status quo without question. \nOf course, many(most)politicians, teachers, professors, reporters etc. being members of this same under 50 age group have reinforced this lie. As you've clearly pointed out, at the end of the day are those that profit from such a policy, like employers large and small, landlords and of course politicians who reap the favors of those in the winners circle. And the losers, all those in the under 50 age groups who scratch their head and wonder why they have no job, no medical care, no house and no future. Good post!

Can anyone explain the level of delusion that these hopeful people have to have to believe that America is some sort of Heaven?\n\nWhether these students/potential students are considering universities in Canada or the USA , some serious considerations have to be made.\n\nIn some ways this is wrong and extremely depressing. Let me make a very serious distinction . Canada is not a monolithic country . The people on the West Coast - British Columbia are culturally very similar to those living in Washington State and Oregon - total left wing granola - flakes and nuts. The Canadians on the East Coast are culturally similar to the US East Coasters- Joe Biden's people . \nThe people on Canada's Prairies - Alberta, Saskatchewan and the west side of Manitoba are similar to the US Midwest all the way down to Texas. Canada was always an enpensive place to live. However it spiked about 5 years ago and is now out of reach (economically) in the last 2 years.\nGovernment taxes! The increases are unprecedented at all three levels (federal, provincial and municipal).

Basically by using outrage politics terms as a campaign platform and cover, it enabled him to push bills through that enact authoritarian powers like China and Russia use to control speech, communication, news, and citizens themselves without limit, all while stopping investigations into the intense govt corruption scandals. We are tired of the state of country, our lack of freedom and democracy, our failing healthcare and healthcare facilities, laughable education system, lack of infrastructure for new comers and Canadians alike. No party in Canada, neither Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Green, no one really represents Canadians and really listens to the public. We learned there is NO future here for us or our family. We're done with a country that I pay taxes too, believed in, it's not my fault that I have to leave, it's CANADA and decades of bad policies, investing in wars instead of our home and people. Trudeau spent more time demonizing anti-vaxxers and truckers and funding Ukraine rather then helping starving Palestinians and Congolese people, families struggling here locally to feed their family, kids are who aren't getting a proper education, elderly unable to pay for their medicine or food. We are all suffering because no one in our govt wants to actually help our country get back on track. So our govt is essentially pushing us OUT. We don't want to leave, we have no choice.

Canada has become an exclusive club for people who want to own a home or own real estate. Supply side issues but open immigration has made it a real estate haven for investors from all over the world. Black money or not, you can easily bring drug or money laundering, or other dishonest (a.k.a haram) money into Canada, and law enforcement is asleep at the wheel. Housing prices are so crazy that I just rent a room and six months per year go live in developing countries of Asia. My income in Canada is only 25K as a single retired person. No home. No car. No partner or family responsibilities. No job. Cook at home only. No alsohol or drugs.\n\nSo, there are solutions. GIS and living out of a suitcase.
