Canada has plaqued by mass immigration over the pas 20 years and it is already ruined. It is a very good thing tho and hope they will all go back to their countries

If the government is seeing this headline, are immigrants from other countries going to do the same pr stay back in canada until things improve ?

The article claims that for decades, immigrants have fuelled Canada's ecomonic growth. Ok, but what about strengthening its culture, to ensure that in the long term, this country remains successful? No, from what i have seen, the breakneck rate of immigration has hollowed out Canada's culture. What I see around me are newcomers that are not being integrated, or that outright refuse to, or are openly hostile to the host culture. How any of these people believe that Canada can remain successful, and them also, as a result, is beyond me. To me, it seems obvious we need a pause and reset and I'm doubtful that this small decrease in applications will achieve anything.

Canada is a big land. Why leaving the country? Government should do something more affordable to people.

With this insane prices Canada will be loosing more and more people. People now come here then turn around as soon as they see the price insanity. This country is not good to migrate to anymore, and the government not doing nothing to fix the problem. Prices are a huge turn off about Canada.

Canada should definitely see what kind of an image they have made of themselves. They have shown themselves to look like an illiterate government. Its like the Indian government which has always no good to making its country a better country the way it could have decades ago. Canada too has been ridiculous in maintaining better standards, yet sat in a their own bubble keeps boosting about how they think the country provides some of it best services. like i said in its own bubble and not taking a reality check.

Canada is a dump now after 8 years of the liberal government. I moved here in 2017 and surprised to see how fast a country can deteriorate. Now unless you are rich and enjoy the boring culture and cold weather, simply don’t come to Canada. Everything is unaffordable and the government purposely let in so many immigrants to compete for necessities like housing. I made 130k last year but still far from owning a place. Although I get raises every year, my paycheck remains similar if not less because of increasing taxes and living cost let alone weaker purchasing power due to inflation. Canada becomes a playground for the wealthy who can speculate in the housing markets and some socialists who enjoy being broke and woke.

People who come to Canada after receiving their PR struggle way too much. When you apply for a job here, they require you to have 1 year of Canadian working experience. How does someone fulfill that criteria if they've just landed in a new country? The government should instead open PR for only blue-collar jobs, which are actually in high demand. The whole immigration program otherwise feels like a scam. You shouldn't be getting any points for your educational and professional qualifications in the application when, in reality, it's not going to help you afterward. Most of the people I know here are planning a relocation because they don't see themselves owning a house anytime soon.

Canada is a great country I have be here for over half a century raised my family. The culture has changed with the times with Govt Policies put the test resulting in skyrocketing COL like food rents housing costs etc and lack of it not making Canada desirable at this time. The Cap on Foreign Students represents a \nCooling Off period for Canada which will prove beneficial in the coming years. All Indian and Foreign Students have been productive constructive ambitious and disciplined who all made a positive contribution to Canada. Times have changed and Govts will also Change with time. Because Canadian citizenship doesn't give you lots of rights. In the EU, even if you get citizenship in one small country, you can easily move to another European country. I've worked 5.5 years in the Netherlands in an ordinary town. I'm a Dutch citizen now, and I can easily move to Paris/Brussels/Rome. I'm moving in the upcoming months. Europe is kind of one big country, and Canada is a sparsely populated state with a notoriously cold climate everywhere.

Unemployment is rife in India, People do not get jobs matching their qualifications in India, racism and discrimination is rife in India in the Hindutva world, infrastructure is very poor and taxes are high… more than 2 million Indians moved out of the country in the past few years…. It’s all sound the same to me - just replace Canada with India - it’s infact worse in the past 10 years.

I lived in canada six years. Got the citizenship. Then moved back to home country. There is both social and economic problems. Realised after doing a number of jobs and getting fired, that there is selective racism, largely immigrants are an underclass (canadian experience), too expensive, high taxes. One can live with the cold weather but not cold attitudes.

They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I think it is the quality of the immigrants that come to Canada that needs to be analysed. If too many low skilled or people with unemployable skills are granted visas, then any country, let alone Canada, would seem like a tough country to settle and earn. Canadian govt seems to be lenient in allowing too many unemployable ppl to get into the country. This has resulted in an imbalance. It just needs a strong govt which Canada lacks at this point in time. 90% of the problems can be solved within 4 to 5 years if govt stops or regulates visas.

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries.. there are issues in every country. Living in Canada for 13 years has been a wonderful experience. Where I live, you might reach -40 in winter at the same time you can sit inside your home wearing a t shirt. In summer, it turns into paradise. Remember both wife and Husband has to work. Otherwise stay in India.

Every day you people talk about people leaving CANADA if they want to leave no one stops them, and no one cares, but on the other hand people from your country would kill to come to CANADA

India is way more ahead of Canada, India has advance medical services that is fast and affordable, better food , better infrastructure, affordable internet, less expensive life style, more varieties of cuisine, more transportation options , better education- but not better education system, etc no country is perfect Canada needs to work a lot to improve itself.

Re Indian students as a former teacher I have to also say that many Indian students coning here are lacking the basics. I also found that students educated in US states like Florida and Texas were around two grades behind. Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. There are lots of private institutions with fancy names. Don't be fooled.

Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.

Trudeau has ruined Canada. It's one thing to help people from other countries, but not at the expense of Canadians who've been waiting for help first.

Immigrants who leave Canada do not have good job or income. They are not employed full time or simply underemployed (at minimum wage). Usually, they try for good job in other countries, such as GCC Countries or - come back to India and get involved in family business.

Theirs no prosperity in Canada anymore as you would think, big businesses,had crushed small businesses, small businesses are destroyed by red tape and high taxes, buying a home is only available to people with significant salaries and high paying job, and internet insurance, all extremely high. I do not buy this story. I was born in Canada in the 50s into a very modest farm lifestyle. I easily jumped several levels and retired wealthy. I am very happy with Canada.\nThe problem is our housing costs are super high. We are bringing people into the country faster than we can grow infrastructure. Back off on immigration for 5 years, and then we'll be fine. We also need to invest in an overtaxed health care system.\nIt is safe, rich, free and full of opportunities. Yes. Canada is not like what used to be as a good country to immigrate to in mid or late 1970s. Unfortunately, job opportunities, salary, wages have not kept us with high cost of living in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. Also, road infrastruture have not kept 12:12 up with population growth. People should do research, check out more before immigrating to Canada these days. If you are moving to Canada for peace and political stability, then yes. Otherwise, think twice! Also, the requirement for Canadian employers to ask for Canadian experience has existed since at least the 70s. But it is absurd and stupid for employers to ask job applicants for Canadian experience since the world is highly interconnected through internet these days. Provided you are working in western world or English speaking countries, job functions and management styles are basically very similar whether it is high tech industry, banking, investment companies etc.

I have lived here over three decade now. Yes Canada we are busy helping other poor countries and their causes , so we sometimes forgetting helping ourself. ? I hear alot lately about some peoples are leaving Canada, of course because it's winter here, they will come back when winter end ?

Many sectors in business are dominated by people from a certain country and they will not anyone work in that field. For example, security guard, and warehouse jobs are only for India. Firefighting jobs are only for someone who's father or brother is a Firefighter. School manager is only Canadian of Europe origin...3. The people that are complaining about Canada have some valid points , as do I . But in travelling to other countries you really see how the good extremely out weighs the bad . Canada is a country that looks good on paper, but the reality is much different.

90% of the population in Canada people are really sick and suffering from different kind of diseases . That talks very bad for Canada that means the life in Canada is very bad ! If in one country if the percentage so high of the people who are suffering from : \nDiabetes, High Blood pressure, Heart disease, Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Heart attacks , Cancers, etc. It means that country is not good to live in it .

For how long Canada could be able to give away money to support illegal invaders? Where is guaranty that these young people will be loyal to Canada? They came from violent countries and have used to violent behaviour. Who can screen their past? They probably lie about everything.

This is crazy. Masses of people who we don't know who they are move as please around the world with no documents. Europe is flooded, Canada and the US. This is crazy those people are a threat to public safety. Imagine there is turmoil in their counties and they try to act from inside.. They are not refugees, they have no right to be in our country.
