I'm well into my 40s and have NEVER seen a case prejudice at the corporate level nor have I seen a instance of gender based discrimination. Infact, many of my employers have provided me female managers and POC. This narration doesn't speak to many because IF it's seen, it should be dealt with in a car by case basis as there is no systematic bias in North America other than this current narration that there IS a bias everywhere. Ashamed my tax dollars have funded this agenda as the CBC itself is a clear example of how diverse the Canadian work force has been and continues to be.

Its funny when they bring up pot and say that it benefits whites when in reality its not. Come to the rez were I live near and you will see so many pot shops but when a white person wants to open one up in the city its a big deal. And the government won't allow them to open up a shop. Its unbelievable how people are so blind to see that the true racism in Canada is not between white or black but between French and English. You get paid more if you know French, its mandatory to learn French in a city that maybe has ten french canadians, look at how much more Quebec gets represented, if Quebec does not like something then it never happens, Quebec can ban people from wearing religious icons that are not catholic yet the government allows this. You may not like it but its true its all about the big cities and Quebec here in Canada.

Most of you guys are something: Canada LIVES of immigrant work force. All of You are just that, immigrants, from an immigrant family!! And yet you are so full of hate. In the country of This size there should be 10 times as many people living. Many immigrants came to a white country. They should integrate, become Canadians, respect its culture and language. If this is not what they want, it would be better for them to return where they came from. They should not create problems for themselves and Canada. This is fair for everyone.

In the 21st century, many Canadians are also quite against Christians, though this is the basis for the underlying principles of kindness, goodness, and love that has made the Western World so attractive to many peoples around the world, and has made Canada a haven for many. This is quite a shame on Canada. While loving and blessing others, Canada should NEVER forget her own (Natives and Christians); neither should she forget her good foundations that has made her peaceful, wealthy, and stress free over the centuries. I have had to rescue a white co-worker one time, because she was ill treated by immigrants in the workplace, who thought she was not SMART enough and FAST enough for their purpose. This is a beautiful, gentile white lady, whose parents helped to build Canada. Shame on Canada. It is good to bless others, but at what cost? Selling out your good foundations? Forgetting your own peoples who do not have degrees like others. Shame on Canada for allowing these actions. Canada, rebuild your good foundations.

Friendly? Polite, perhaps. You have to love the reserve of Canadians, but they're not as engaging as folks in the States. Furthermore, while Canada is perceived as friendly, when it comes to cities, those in the Southern US consistently rank among the world's friendliest and most polite. Many, of course, can be violent. Also, are you serious about the shared tipping culture? And the bit on service? Your vid was solid and magnanimous, but on those points you missed the mark. Badly.

In Canada there will be low key racism and I have been called the world n- word many times in Toronto but only by Latino Americans, twice by a Mexican in my school, once by Peru guy then by a russian and a vietnamese. But never by a Canadian. In Toronto you will likely face more racism because it's multi cultural than any other city. But you will face racism by people who are non Canadian but more from other countries that have not accepted different races.

The first time i travelled across Canada on a road trip, heading west, going town to town along the TransCanada Hiway, i choose a black friend to accompany me. I choose him because he was really easy to get along with and i knew he was an auto mechanics enthusiast, which, as it turned out came in handy on the trip. We were on the road for a few months. I grew up in a city in a little multicultural bubble of liberalism and was taught as a child not to judge others based on skin colour or sex; to be respectful towards people of all ilks and ethnicities. The thing is, i was young enough to not really realize that i was in a bubble. As we travelled though parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta, where there are few to no blacks in many towns, i began to realize that Canada is quite racist in the outback and little towns mid country. I was surprised and actually angered by it. My friend took it in stride however. For example, i was meeting people, getting invited home for dinner and meet the wife and kids sort of thing, and my friend couldn't even get a conversation going with most people, they just totally ignored him and gave him a wide berth. I know underlying all of that is just the fear of an unknown quantity and the fact that a lot of Canadians watch American news sometimes which tends to be chock full of black in gang wars, shooting each other and committing violent crime so they get a false view of black culture because the news at that time rarely showed blacks unless they were committing a crime.

Canadian here in Toronto. Thanks for the video Drew. Very accurate. We're similar in so many ways but there are definitely differences. Today was the day I was supposed to fly to China to take a tour in North Korea. Yes you heard that right. YouTubers like you and similar others have inspired me to try different destinations and experiences. However, that will have to be out on hold for the time being... :(

As a Canadian, I should mention that university here is cheaper because we don't have as many private post-secondary institutions. For example, we don't really have large schools similar in size to NYU, Liberty or Northwestern. I saw online that 20% of university students in the US go to a private institution, whereas in Canada it's not even close to 5%.

I’m white (European French), ow Canadian but grew up in Oakland, Calif, had a black boyfriend in High School and now have a black daughter in law so I’m comfortable and familiar with many racial issues. When Kathleen mentioned she felt uncomfortable with a white man touching her hair and saying it was beautiful, I thought that was taking her perceived racism over the top. If she had been white with the same hair only blonde it would have been equally uncomfortable. I completely agree that racism is rampant and terrible, I see it frequently but it’s important to not make Everything about racism.... that can become a problem in itself

Yes, if you don't believe so. I challenge anyone to make friends an obvious ethic minority and spend 6months with them regularly. It will become obvious. A massive percentage of Canadians are not and wonderful people. Many are unfortunately. Jobs, promotions, finance, houses, shopping, etc. Just look at stats Canada records.

While racism is real, there are certain people from some religious dicatorships in Canada spying on the free people of this country and making people uncomfortable too. there are those who want to push their beliefs on all Canadians and there has to be a balance in terms of acceptance and inclusiveness. I find many times people also play the race or discrimination card to push their beliefs and ways of life on others while I have heard them for example swear at and judge Canadians for example who don't cover up their hair or wear mini skirts......that is also discrimination and judgement and is also 100% wrong, even though they may be doing it quietly or in their own language. There is sometimes (besides obvious cases of racism of course) that there are 2 sides to the story! People that come to Canada also need to respect its values of respect for all, not just ask for it for themselves. While a lot of wonderful people come here and have the utmost respect for Canada that is NOT the case with those pushing their beliefs and particularly religious views on the rest of Canadians making them feel like outsiders I have heard many stories about.

I'm a Eastern European and I want to say wake up canada! Islam is a barbaric cult. They destroyed the paris and other parts of Western Europe. If the canadians doesn't wake up, their country will turn into a third world. Islam should stay in the middle east forever. They are ok if they are a minority but if they become the majority, sharia law will follows. Hello, I just watched your video. Three years after you made it. I hope you are still with us and a very belated Welcome. Many people throughout the world seem to have so many stereotypes about Americans. Whether it is good or bad there typically is some truth in a stereotype. Overall it seems like you are enjoying yourself and no matter what there is no place like home. I would think no matter what your current situation is you still miss Canada as I would miss the United States if I were to move to Canada. \nA couple things you mentioned in the video were not correct and as with anything there may be a little truth in the matter but yet still incorrect.\nThose who do not have health insurance are not charged or taxed $150 monthly. There is a provision in the affordable care act (ACA) that penalizes certain individuals who make above a certain dollar amount. The amount is either $150 or $300 for the entire year. I concur any monetary penalty against anyone for not having health insurance is outrageous. I could be wrong but I believe this aspect of the ACA was never implemented under President Obama and it was indefinitely suspended or revoked by President Trump. I also feel like I need to address your thoughts about the United States all about war. I believe the American people are like most other people and want peace and civility. The government and major defense contractors have differing opinions at times. Of course there is plenty of people who are war hawks but they are in the minority. Most of us are absolutely sick of war. We currently have been at war for almost 19 years. That's six complete world war 2's in their entirety. \nI think you were being awfully generous when you said obesity is on par with the rest of the world!! Unfortunately there is far to many fat people here and the problem is only getting worse because the media says be happy and proud you are fat. Celebrating obesity is absolutely insane and it sends the wrong message to young people. If a close one is fat of course I love them but I also tell them privately that they are a walking heart attack. When i was in Vancouver i met a lot of rude Canadians....some were waiters and hotel staffers and an airport worker. Seriously im nice but next time im going to tell these people off. The truth about refugees aftermath is that, the large majority of refugees in Canada coming originally from third world countries, live on Social Assistance for several years, some for life, knowing that the Canadian government will provide for them anything they need (Ironically there are very few statistics on this matter and no statistics at all since 2015, when the current government was elected).

The canadians are as cold as their weather...poor guy got rejected after such a DUMB MOVE .Generally speaking living in the US is way easier than in Canada ,where you have to be a genius (overqualified) to get almost any decent job.Not to mention the brutal winters (except vancouver) Only 2 good things about canada : it's healthcare and safety . A refugee here. Through my job as an engineer, I'm probably giving back more than what half Canadian born do. Many Canadians just live off of interest in money they inhereted while we work to uplift the economy. Refugees would still rather go back to their countries as soon as the war is over. White Canadians have mastered the art of racial discrimination while appearing very inclusive and accepting. .....sorry the apartment is already rented is a normal response for the non white prospective renter. The position is already filled ....to the person with the different accent or non European name. Being followed around the store is standard practice..... Shoppers drug mart , Jean Coutou , Best Buy, Bulk Barn , I mean Bulk Barn , with tons of bulk in bins. At the Royal Vic ....a public hospital in Montreal , the non white patient is made to wait for hours as his file for some reason is placed at the bottom of the pile . At a Club in Montreal the non white guy is told that he cannot enter because of his running shoes. His white friends reports later that running shoes were on display at this watering hole. And then there is the not so subtle case of Ketchup squirted on the head of this visible minority kid who was having a beer and minding his own business. I am the person in question . I am non white and I hold a PhD from Mc Gill . I encountered these experiences as a foreign student in 1982. I visited Ottawa last month 2019 .....you guessed it , Bulk barn at Billings bridge profiled me as a danger to the corn flakes bin. Canada is a wonderful country in many respects but it has a side which whites will not normally see because of the pervasiveness of white privileged.

Moving to Vancouver was a great experience tbh, I'm of nigerian heritage but was born in Finchley, North London...\nCanadians are friendly and extremely welcoming ( Coming from the UK i found this so off-putting ) lol. Ironically its non-white Canadians i had funny experiences with.... from dating to renting its weird\n\n\nAsians under 27 always asking some crazy questions ( Are you an NBA player ) lol it's cute at first but after a while when little koreans walk up to me talking about ( You look like will smith ) it makes you think... To be fair these are not inherent negatives, But asian canadians alone did treat me weird i found, Indian girls i met all wanted to be with me but where also very ashamed to say so or let their family know, but thats a cultural thing so i understood.\n\n\n Of all the demographics White canadian and native men where the most welcoming and open to me, in my experience.. White women of-course where cool too but that does not really count, especially as a good looking black guy with an accent LOOL you know how that goes!! My Tinder and Bumble were obscene LMAO\n\nRenting from asians while black and Male!? is almost impossible!!! Except they think you have rich parents!! Its impossible in Van unless you are an Arab exchange student lol \nArab and Persian students studying english have no issues renting in Vancouver, for some reason!!\n\nI lived out the St. Regis downtown for a month, Looking for places to rent, i had seen so many places online and filled out applications but never got call backs, asides from 2 group showings i went to, i could not even set up a viewing with the apartment building i wanted... \n\nTill i met an african girl in school, and she told me something i found completely crazy.\nShe told me to make a new e-mail addy and to use my English name when i e-mail, then set up a viewing but to show up with a white friend preferably a girl and that if the owner is asian, i should look around, and offer to pay 6months upfront before they get a chance to ask what i did for work or whether i was a student or not LOL. Needless to say, i did what she said and It worked the asian lady asked me to come get the keys later that day. Its just life, as a property owner they really just wanna size you up, not fair and kind of pathetic but its not inherently evil...

It pains me to see so many people--not just in Chinese Canadian community, but throughout all ethnicities and demographics--take Canadian citizenship for granted. Being a Canadian citizen, having the right to exercise responsibilities that come with this citizenship, are a privilege. I look forward to the system becoming better at recognizing applicants who understand and want to contribute rather than to leech off and take advantage.

I am actually shocked by people in the comment here. All talked like you knew a lot of things of immigration and citizenship. Loll but many don’t even know the first thing, the difference between permanent residence and citizenship. Immigration jail is referred to PR required living time in Canada. PR don’t have a Canadian passport and only citizens can have it. Once you are a Canadian citizen, you don’t need to live in Canada for a required time. China does not allow dual citizenship and that is why they try to scam the system to make up the living time in Canada.
