EVERY country has racism.. and in Canada it is not usually the White people who are the most Racist.. Chinese and India-n people are very racist. Try going to Surrey and you will experience some Racist Indians. I live in the Prairies and it is definitely less racist than West Coast BC, Montreal and Toronto regions.

Feeling ashamed seeing the condition of the people of my country...begging, protesting to leave their own country , selling their land ...its all because of population...and it will be forever like this.....india really needs a ww3 to reduce its population to half..

India is in a much better situation in this recession.. even better than the US and Canada. I have a good job here.. Enjoy my weekends with great food from swiggy zomato and beer?. You get better salary packages in India. Cities like Pune, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai are great to live in and earn. I work from home...nice work life balance, enjoy my vacations in Goa... Go for a vacation every 4 months. Thoughts came in to shift to Canada... but decided not to go. Why struggle so much abroad. Hello brothers and sisters I’m seeing a problem here. The interest rate in the late 1970s and early 1980s interest rate was 12-18%. People\nComing now are in MUCH better financial condition then people who came then with nothing. The difference is two main things: many new immigrants don’t have the same drive and motivation that previous immigrants in terms of sacrifices such as not driving a mustang, but they also didn’t just settle for labour jobs, they used their brains and began business along side labour. Second thing is, the immigrant wants to see the result before putting in the work. If after getting out of the horrible conditions of India and coming to Canada, a country loaded with opportunities, you still have difficulties then you need to change your expectations and work ethic to match, if they don’t then don’t complain. Cost of living is not the issue, it is the false expectation that they give themselves. To be quite honest with you it takes most immigrants one generation not 5-10 years, so either start working smarter or wait to have this reflection of what Canada is like until you have lived here for 50 years.

Great documentary, but in my opinion, it's terribly one-sided, portraying these colleges as villains and the students as poor, innocent victims. As a former international student from India myself, who had the privilege of attending a prestigious university in the UK, working there, and moving on, the workings of this situation are as clear as daylight and as old as the hills. \nIt wasn't any different back then in the UK 20 years ago, during the heady Blair days, when UK colleges significantly increased their intake of international students, aided by a lax visa regime. This was also in response to tighter visa restrictions in the US following 9/11. Students enrolling in such colleges, as well as the parents funding them, are well aware that these are degree mills. The sole aim here is to somehow navigate through college and stay long enough until permanent residency comes through. \nTears flow and protests erupt only when this unspoken but clearly understood agreement is broken, often with the media conveniently at hand. The reasons driving this insatiable urge are multifarious, but poverty and lack of opportunities in the country (in this case, India) do not really rank high on the list. Social prestige and an imagined better life in the 'West' certainly do, particularly among young people from states like Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Gujarat. \nNothing about this is illegal, and not to sound cynical, these are market forces at work. However, in my view, this represents a more accurate truth. It would be great to see Fifth Estate also report from this side

Well made. Wish I had this info atleast a decade ago. I’m one of the Sanjay. Immigrated to US in 2008 from India. In the green card queue for 10 years. Not sure if I get it in my lifetime. I have a foreign born daughter who I brought here when she was only few months old. She might have to self deport in a few years when she is 21. This is her home and only country she knew.\n\nThe US immigration system is cruel for people like Sanjay. But every politician knows this problem after our advocacy efforts but nobody wants to touch it. They only want our tax $$$ ..

As a Canadian the American system isn't broken. We have so many immigrants coming in from India and Nigeria you can have them. Not only are they disrespectful, but greedy and have no problem throwing trash directly on the ground. They also contribute to wage suppression meaning that they are willing to work for a lower rate of pay. Many Canadian companies will not hire these people given that they don't have North American experience, so therfore will be forced to use food banks and the welfare system.

Why do young people try to move out ? Simply, better job and better opportunities in life. If asked, young people back home with good job & money will definitely like to visit these countries but will seldom settle there. US immigration system is broken but it's still the best in western world if you are in engineering, mathematics and tech. I studied and worked in US, moved to India for personal reasons. I realized its difficult to adjust back in India, and US will never let me naturalize, so I moved to Canada. But Canada has hardly any jobs of its own, most of people in tech here work for American companies. In US, even an aerospace, biomedical, virology or genetic engineering person can find job in his/her field despite being on job visa, but in Canada its very tough. \nFew weeks back, I met an Uber driver who came to Canada 4+ years back, mechanical/automative engineer and was not able to find a job in his field despite no need for license with advance education and many years of relevant experience. He became Canadian citizen few weeks back, and guess what, he received 2 job offers in US and was moving to US on TN visa. \nI am myself working on something in Canada that is not my specialization. In US, I can get multiple messages from top government contractors for scientist/researcher positions, but I could not work for them as I don't have citizenship. In canada, despite being a PR, I know many experienced people who are forced to drive uber or do survival jobs.

A video by someone who isn't Canadian and it's extremely obvious. Were currently OVERWHELMED by immigrants from India cause there's no limit on how many people can apply from that country. So now we have a glut of Indians who create their own semi-enclaves and do not integrate with the community. \n\nAs well, the U.S. pays better, has more opportunity, the mixture of immigrants is better (less concentrated to one country) and lets not even begin with Canada's completely screwed housing market.

A little balance here please. Immigration is not utopia. 80-90% of H1-B visas in the US go to consulting companies that displace American labor with cheaper overseas labor that misrepresents their skills when applying (the fraud you mentioned). Less than 10% of H1-B visas actually go to people hired from abroad for their existing talent by places like Google or Facebook. And please also mention the percentage of income that immigrants from places like India actually send back to India instead of into the local economy, because it's the majority of their income, even in high cost of living cities. \n\nNo utopia.

I have a different perspective… as I’ve lived in Canada since I was 2 years old (same with my wife). If Canada’s goal is to turn its cities into a combination of India and China then goal accomplished lol diversity means a combination of people with different race, religion and nationality. This is highly biased just because they have moved to Canada doesn’t necessarily mean that Australia is any less .Both are DEVELOPED nations to be very precise .Australia has the highest wedge rates and yes as compared it’s hard to get into Australia than Canada because Australia is more into skilled workers it’s twice the size of India with only 2.5 cr of population and they manage their population and jobs at their best which is commendable and the same is with Canada as well .Every country has their own norms and have their pros and cons just because one couple has faced some issue with Australia doesn’t necessarily mean all the people have faced the same thing again it depends on the field you are working at . Covid has changed perspective and situations of every country one more Point Australia has never entered recession in 4 decades that’s a great point to consider . Very discouraged podcast for people who have worked hard here , this is just a view point from one perspective, think about that how people who are like earning minimum wage in canada are not living a deprived life as more of the population live in india , we all come from a good background in india , but everyone desrves a good life that is not avaible in india , the people from remote villages in india , can stand up to the level of people working in Multinationals in india basically there is huge gap status in india which leads to so many problems overall , very very negative perspective of these ladies . Very disappointing.
