Why don't they settle in Mexico or elsewhere in Latin America? Why is it that the United States & European nations are assumed to have some bizarre duty be open to all comers - despite the reality that infrastructure doesn't magically come into existence to house & school however many want to come - when the rest of the world still has the long-recognized right to police their borders and decide on their own immigration policies?\n\nThis is a Democratic Party-enabled mass invasion & a complete subversion of the rule of law.

The sad reality is under the last president we would have had a booming economy, surely we could have let in many more immigrants than we have been safely and legally, and even still had the tax dollars to do so. This has been happening on mexicos southern border for months now. Mexicos president is wayyyy too nice to kick them out like the US is. And most of these people are stealing homes, kicking locals out of their homes and taking over small cities in Mexico. It's not usa problem neither Mexicos problem. It's the southern countries problem. They don't come here as peacefully as most immigrants that come from Mexico. All of these points are subjective. I think the point system you used and the subjects you talked about are biased. I would have given the USA a point for innovation and job opportunity. There is more opportunities, because more companies choose the USA. We have a higher population so even thought there is more job opportunities in the USA, it is also very competitive. Your video gave a point to Canada for vacation and maternity leave rather than innovation and job opportunities. A lawyer in the USA has a better chance of practicing law than a Canadian lawyer. You gave a point to Canada for healthcare because of life expectancy. However I’d still give a point to the USA for healthcare. The life expectancy is a separate subject. The life expectancy is lower in the USA because of what we eat here. I would give a point to Canada for healthier food. I am a for immigrants but this need to be fixed. How to fix it, is charge American a $10,000 fine if you hire a illegal. Then make these people apply from home where we have time to check there background and then given a date to come. A wall does not work so we need drones and more people on the boarder. Most of these people do not and we only need so many fruit pickers. Also I think new immigrants should be required to take a class to learn the ways of the country so they do not accidentally cause conflicts and problems.

Folks, I need to educate many for a second. When you immigrate to this country you DO NOT become a citizen when you get legal clearance. You can become a permanent resident at best which means you can live, work and do most other things here legally. You DO NOT get to vote or work in government agencies as a lawful permanent resident. To become a citizen you have to wait a minimum of 3 years, or more depending on your permanent resident status, to then apply for citizenship. You then apply for the citizenship application and if accepted the process requires you to take a test and go through a series of questions about U.S. history and government knowledge in an interview that you need to pass, before you are awarded citizenship. Through this process you are SUPPOSED to be committing yourself to the United States of America as someone who denounces your allegiance to your old country and is now pledging your allegiance to the U.S. This is now your home country and you treat it as such. You are now an AMERICAN, not a whatever from wherever that just lives in America. It should be a big deal and one to be proud of. I know people that have been here for 25 years as a permanent resident and they still have no desire to become a citizen. They have lived off of this country, raised families in this country, worked and benefitted from this country and still align with their old country and are completely amiss to what it means to become a U.S. citizen. There is a reason that only citizens are allowed to vote! Because you should have an allegiance to America and should vote accordingly and not be allowed to work in our governmental agencies for the same reason. Legal status and citizenship are NOT the same.

The sad thing about ppl talking about how many homeless we have as being a reason why we can’t allow legal immigration is that we have more than enough vacant housing for the entire homeless population. What we don’t have are jobs, AFFORDABLE HOUSING, and healthcare to get the homeless off the streets.

Let them come thru. They work harder than most Americans do. Who builds are highways, schools, and houses? They do. We have homeless Americans begging for handouts everyday but u don't see immigrants doing that. Go look at any construction crew or people that work the slaughter house. Y’all r dumb, you say “let’s help the homeless in the US first” but really most homeless people here are LAZY, or drug addicts who don’t want to be helped. You say “let’s give jobs to the homeless in the US instead of immigrants” but who’s actually putting in that work and taking jobs? The Mexicans. I don’t see no American homeless people posted outside Home Depot lookin for a job.\n\nYes, there are many homeless people who have injuries or who need help getting access to jobs - it’s important we help them still but those who are willing to work hard and push will reap harvest just how it is. If you had kids, born and raised in Mexico would you stay? I wouldn’t.

They need to learn the local language. That goes for immigrants in Brazil too. This also goes for foreigners in countries like Colômbia and Ecuador. Nothing against foreigners, but many will work for cheap wages, thus keeping real wages down. And Westerners living in the countries I mentioned drive up the cost of living because home sellers take advantage of their ignorance.

I live in Florida and there are American mothers and fathers raising their kids in tents in the woods here because they can't afford to buy or rent a home, despite both of them working full time. I wish Canada did more R&D. We have the talent and brains to be innovative, yet so many of us go work in the oil & natural gas sector because it pays handsomely.\nAlso to live in the most scenic provinces like BC and Ontario is crazy expensive. We moved from AB to BC in 2009 which my parents bought their house for $550,000 that's situated 40km East of Vancouver, and today their house is valued at 1.4 million... almost 3 times the original purchase price in just over a decade. Now an adult, my wife and I were forced to move back to Alberta and leave our families because we simply cannot afford to rent there nor ever have an honest shot at saving enough money to buy our own place. It is what it is and I'm sure it's a common theme that's not only exclusive to Canada, but man, it does sucks. I'm happy for any immigrants to move here and call Canada their home too, but many are loaded with money and purchase numerous properties just to then rent it out at an absurd rate because they can. It's fueling the problem worst and making it unfair for the born & raised Canadians.

Ive been working my ass off to pay for my documents for legality, paid taxes yearly and just comply to whatever is needed for immigration. Now im a US citizen. And this people just think they can just walked in without legal papers pisses me off. Come on people we all have different struggles in life, but we have to do the right thing! The last few mass shootings have all been immigrants .. Majority of Hispanics don’t understand this is a major problem. If the population is growing in the US. Inflation will rise. Housing, food, gas etc. We need to deport as many illegals as we can because legal immigrants deserve the right in America legally.
