I live in the US and it's no Paradise it may be a little better than Canada in some ways financially but the US and Canada basically have the same economic and employment system I would like to move to a country like Rwanda or the Philippines ultimately with my savings stable countries with low cost of living

LOL next time you go to British Columbia go to where I'm from and it's a little Valley called blueberry Creek it's in the interior about 400 mi from Vancouver Vancouver isn't as bad as you say it seems that way but truly I lived there for about 10-15 years after I grew up in blueberry and it is definitely unpredictable that's for sure you have to take an umbrella with you or a raincoat or a sweater or something cuz you could go out in the morning it's bright and sunny and by the time you get to the bus stop it's raining that is very true but it doesn't last long there is certain seasons that it rains but if you look at the meteorology it really isn't that much more than anywhere else and gloomy you want to talk about gloomy you live in Alberta I live there for quite a while and one morning I woke up and I just couldn't take it anymore all you see is different shades of gray and brown so I packed up and went home and finally saw green again I'm glad you guys are in Canada but boy do I hear you I used to be middle class owned a home and some land and then I became homeless because yes that's what our government is trying to do they don't want me to class people we have too much power when Harris came into power he almost succeeded in wiping out the middle class dirt poor have no say in anything so I'm trapped here I hope you guys have the freedom to go where you like I really do you guys are great

Well said, both US and Canada are all the same thing, it’s a circle. Start again and go back to school when you relocated to diasporas my dear. Not much difference until you get to a higher level like management in your career then a little change can occur.. I can have my patients have MRIs or CT scans within 2 days if they need is there a giant . What you need is Doctor Patient Advocates. That's why I love my Australia. I moved from Nigeria to Australia few years ago but I can categorically say Australia is an hidden treasure nation. I have been to many western countries but Australia is better than many if not all of these countries. The weather, income, calmness, natural beauty and above all work balance. You have time for yourself and family cos the little hours you do most time is enough for you to be happy without stress. And very safe.

At the end of the day no place like home.... Miss the little things we enjoyed back then in Nigeria. As we go on in life we see that the little things matter most.

Canada has sky high immigration because it is a failed state, the population was declining. Immigration is basically all that is keeping the country from imploding. They will let in anyone because they are desperate to keep the tax base growing. The landmass itself is gorgeous, but the quality of life continues to deteriorate by the day. The country is run the by Royal Family, Trudeau is just a stooge people elect to grovel to the Queen and her son, he has no power. They are confused environmentalists, they want to grow their tax base and keep the country from imploding, meanwhile they want to use as little land as possible to do it. So you get stacked and packed into a condo and get worked nonstop and taxed so hard you can never accumulate enough savings to stop working. The whole country is a slave colony really. I'm leaving Canada shortly, I don't recommend it as a long term place to live, no one is really happy here.

There's an old say from my country that goes: the cat whose belly is full, always find the tail of the mouse taste bitter. So the immigrant, like a hungry cat, comes to Canada for food( opportunities) and once his belly is full, he then starts complaining of the taste of the food. You ladies just named every single reason why an opportunist can't stay in one place. I live, as an immigrant in the US, and Im a physician, and I can tell you while the Canadian health system is flawed it is far better than the US. Your 8 hrs+ waiting in the ER is literally a standard waiting time...so please be PATIENT! ( just getting a little sarcastic here, i know it sucks!) 35 to 40% of my money go the government ( although i feel they take 50%) and life is not that cheap ( a lot of Physicians leave expensive places like NY because they can't afford them anymore! ) have you heard of HOMELESS workers in LA? ( some have 2 jobs but still can't afford an apartment and live in their cars ) things are hard everywhere, especially if you are an immigrant living in one of the coldest place in the world (btw nobody called you, that was your choice, so suck it up!) I hope one day, while Im still young, I can go back home to work for my people, and not when I retire and tired to have my people work for me, how selfish and opportunistic is that mentality! The Nomad life most of you like, is killing a country spirit and Culture and it's no longer feasible in modern society, since the lands have borders and names and inhabited by people that value a sedentary life. The idea of people going to the foreign countries to get their passport so they can travel the world, sounds so individualistic...which Nation can develop with that kind of thinking of their citizens?....definitely not yours.

My dear, TAXES, are the mainstay of every advanced society; they provide that attractive environment which becomes the dragnet for people from the third world where little or no taxes are paid and the little that is paid is cornered by the rich and powerful. What you experience in Canada is what obtains in every developed country including advanced Asian societies like Japan.\nSecondly these societies are maintained not just for present generation but for those yet unborn, again unlike third world societies where you care about today only.\nFinally it is not intended that citizens would come and stay a short while and amass wealth and go back to their countries, they are expected to be part of the society perpetually in which case their children would take advantage of their contributions to that society.\nThis is a model that should be emulated to guarantee long time survival of a society and culture.

Question; What is the like for Immigrants who earn pensions after having worked and having retired from a company in Canada? \nAre most happy they did so being able able to return to Nigeria and live well off of that income?\nRelated question; Do Nigerian companies offer pensions? I understand they do not have a Social Security benefit for those who are Senior in age.\n\nI am not being condescending. What people fail to understand is that the grass is always greener on the other side...until you get there and realise that its just different shades of green. There are so many benefits to living in Africa. And there are benefits to living in western countries too. If you like jobbing (being an employee), saving for retirement and having a stable government to protect your investment or give you welfare benefits and having free healthcare and generally living a risk-free life, then abroad is for you. There are downsides though - while you have good roads and healthcare, you can hardly save, your mental health is on the line, you probably will have no social life, the genetically modified food, polluted air, chemicalized everything will cut your life span down. You can be an enterpreneur but the taxes alone, the regulation, etc can discourage you. \n\nIn Africa, there are security concerns but the same security concerns exist in all countries, only they differ in their nature. In Africa, I can grow my food, I can build my house according to my budget (no mortgage), I can start a business any day, i can feed on little money ( you can find markets that sell cheap food produce). And most importantly for me, the health factor - organic food, family and friends to help with your mental health and laugh and cry with you as the occasion demands. \n\nAnd now the icing on the cake - you can make the same dollar you make abroad from your country! So many online platforms to be a freelancer, to work for companies and individuals abroad. So you are making the same money and not drowning in taxes, in high rents, insurance fees and you can afford top-notch healthcare, even better than what you can get abroad. \n So it's up to you. Stop believing that abroad is better. it's not actually. I swore I wouldn't raise a child in London because of the high rate of knife crimes on the streets and the government' s lax attitude towards it because such crimes involve black kids. The fact is the US has the highest inequality among wealthy nations. And the worst health care, they place 20 out of 20 in the OECD. So wages and getting rich I disagree with, and cost of goods are on par....however housing is still cheaper and that is a big one. \n\nDue to the massive immigration we are experiencing here (too fast imo) it plays a big factor in health care degradation and wait times etc. The government was slow to respond to the fact when you add 300 000 people a year to Ontario it will require more health care providers. \n\nAnd don't forget it was the taxes my ancestors paid that provided the buildings you now enter for health and school etc. It seems that is seldom thought of by new comers. When I tell Africans not to go to Canada they never listen. Canada is a really cool country. There's no doubt about that but in winter the weather gets really cold, dull, grey and depressing. Instead of moving always to The UK, US or Canada, why not try the Caribbean and some central American countries. These countries are very colorful, lively and bright with climate similar to ours. There are lots of folks over there that look like us as well except that you may have to learn a little Spanish which shouldn't be a problem at all. \nI'm a Nigerian too.\nI also dreamt of moving to Canada 15 years ago. I was so crazy in love with the country at first but because I was aware of how depressing winters can be I had to switch my dream destination to the Caribbean. I choose Panama because of the large Afro Panamanian community over there. Secondly because Panama looks like a more developed version of My country, Nigeria with beautiful beaches and a nice tropical weather. It's one of those few Caribbean nations with a free world class universal healthcare system like most countries in Europe.

You started the video with an opinion not a fact. You can In fact gain wealth here. You have access to RRSPs and tax Free Savings accounts to help with Taxea for people earning over 6 figures. No one has tries to take your money, the policies are clear as day. You also have access to the Canadian stock market where they will allow you to keep 50% of your excess and tax the other 50%. Your statement needs way more context and a broader discussion. Stil love the video but we need to state all the facts. Canada business system prefers the big franchises businesses that have millions of dollars. If you have a small shop or restaurant get beaten by the big corporations that has franchises. the food costs are high and when selling u just cant sell for a better profit that can actually make you money. The Chinese and Indians knows how to sell little many items at a low cost just to be on a very tinny profitable way to keep on going. The Multi big paying makes money in Canada not the small business immigrants come and create. Those business don't built wealth because the big corporations are pushed by the Gov more in creating jobs and paying the big corporate taxes that in turn the taxes help support the social programs for those that cant work and also providing the basic needs to those that needs it through the taxes paid. In many African states many of the individual business that strife and create wealth because there isn't too much huge corporations that competes with this small business like the first world nations. In SA for example we have seen an explosion of many migrants going there creating small business and striving better than they will be in Canada. The taxes are high in Canada that's true u cant be rich sorry u will work until you lose your hair f not your hair turns white in a very short time due to too much stress and worries. Canada is good for social programs it takes care off those that don't' work if you work forget about getting rich but supporting those that don't work through the allocated taxes. Canada and the first world nations supports Big corporation and Franchising not really a fan of small business even when they are here they just don't create huge profits to think they will make it. In fact when the economy falls those shops easily shut down entirely and when they do reopen they barely make profits. I have seen Nigerian, Ghanaian small shops with Ethiopian and Jamaican business.

If, you aren't a disciplined person then you won't succeed in western countries especially Canada imo. I see people constantly complaining about being bored, but I rarely see new african immigrants mix with groups outside of their home culture. That results in NO building, no reputation, little to no African districts or recognition at all throughout the provinces. It's a shame.\nThe carribbeans did it right in Toronto and it's why their culture has spread in that city. You went to Canada and are complaining about taxes. You could always go back to Africa where you pay little taxes and have no infrastructure. You went there to be rich and now you understand that's the price you pay for living in a developed country.

It's the same in US. I am a registered nurse in the US. I make $2000 a week and pay $700 taxes, my take home is $1300/wk. From there I pay other bills. The higher you earn the higher your taxes. Some weeks I make almost $4000 as a travel nurse. You make the money but after all deductions you'll be left with little. But you'll still enjoy this taxes when you retire as social security income. If you don't want to comply to their rules and regulations you better stay in your country. I did nursing in Nigeria and took and passed my NCLEX here and started working as a registered nurse.

I'm American born of Haitian descent and I think these type of videos are annoying. I find that Africans/Nigerians love to country hop while adding little to nothing in the way of cultural and social betterment in their temporarily adopted countries. When I travel it's out of a genuine love of travel versus constant economic movement. Stop expecting that one country is going to give you everything that you're looking for. There are pros and cons to living anywhere. Happiness and fulfillment comes from within self and not always geographical borders.

It's easier and faster to get your papers in Canada than the US which means you can start working your way back to your original profession. The fact that Canada is immigrant friendly and has a large immigrant population makes it easier for one to go into any profession with your Nigerian certificates and a little more Canadian education. As a lawyer, I'm yet to meet a Nigerian trained lawyer who got a job in a top firm in the US. It's probably easier in Canada

Taxes are crazy in Canada that's for sure. I am white and I was born here in Canada and wish I could leave and go to the USA where taxes is so much less and you can get farther ahead then in Canada. I wish I had a job working online then I would go somewhere else like southeast Asia or Mexico where the cost of living is so much less and you can live like a king on very little money compared to Canada or the USA.

In visa division of consulate general of india to newyork, theres a counter for people to submit the phones and get a token, before they enter the respective divisions... They took the phone with them, and they are recording the whole thing. Embassies and consuls are sensitive places and have security concerns. You cant take your little phine and record. The officer must have politely asked her to take away the phone. If she does as the officer adviced her, she may not even have the phone to record the situation right. Let's not forget Quebec gets over $13 billion a year from Alberta to pay for that francophone entitlement! I think AB is definitely number one, Alberta has a more diversified economy than people give it credit for and the people are way nicer than Quebec!
