I gotta say, though. I'm a French Canadian, and as far as I - and most people I know - am concerned, I love our southern brothers in general, and the few times I've visited the U.S, it was fun and we met a lot of nice, friendly people. So as a tourist, going to the U.S is great.\n\nBut yeah, I wouldn't want to live there *compared to where I am* because we have a lot of great things here which I'm told by many are just a dream right now in the U.S. Now, if we compare the U.S to many other countries out there, I'd pick them over a lot of others.

People who are still proud of being Canadian have blinders on. I used to be proud of being Canadian but this country is completely broken and living amongst people that are actively voting to strip me of my rights is painful.

IF… I met my dream Hollywood crush and she said USA or nothing I might consider it if I couldn’t convince her otherwise. In all honesty I leave the house without locking the door regularly I’ve never met anyone who owns a gun let alone seen one outside of a cops holster, and agree that people have the right to choose what they do with their body and who they want to marry, government should never take woman’s or lgbtq rights from them. It’s hard to imagine in a developed country this is still an issue in 2023

No! Not a chance not when the USA is gun crazy and lets nut jobs run for leader of the country. You kill your kids for an obsolete amendment to your Constitution. It is no longer necessary tell the right to bear arms the British Redcoats are not going to invade you and take your country. Tyler, with complete respect you DON'T get why we generally have no interest in moving to the US. You constantly talk about 'you just have to find the right place to live'. True of anywhere, but here the choice would be about preferences and afordability, NOT to avoid gun violence or shunning because of political views.\nThere is no where in Canada I could move to where gun violence would be a big factor to consider (we have rough places, and gun violence, but STRICT gun laws). Let me give you some perspective. In 2019 the USA had 37,038 gun related deaths. (No other causes of death- JUST all gun death). In Canada, in 2019, our death by illegal means (which does include suicide, as it is illegal) was 5,874. (That is for ALL types of homicide, not just guns). And the government was shocked by the increase that year and tightened gun restrictions further.\nYou talk about having certain States more Red or Blue. We aren't bi- partisan, so our politics are a melting pot. You might have people you disagree with everywhere you go, but you will also always find an equal group who thinks similar (unless your an extremist). And even the people who think different will generally agree to dis- agree. There is next to nowhere in Canada where your political views would get you run out of town. \n\nYou are USED to thinking like an American. (Fair, your American; I think like a Canadian) Trust me, as a Canadian, there are aspects of the accepted American culture (your country's way of life) that is boarderline terrifying to people here.

You may have to go there with some subjects when going over the comparison between the two countries.\nTop 3 reasons of a NO are being said over and over.\nHealthcare, gun control, women’s reproductive rights and healthcare.\nThat’s pretty much what we have watched from afar; all being continuously lit on fire with politics lighting the matches.

Perhaps some of these people can step up and assist their new country. There are 20,000 construction jobs vacant in Ontario right now. There will be in all these people...some with expertise to help.

I’ve lived in both countries in small towns and big cities Hell No Thanks and I would have great insurance. I remember in preschool having to do active shooter drills in the US nope. If you look at stats on gun violence and mass shootings it’s crazy. The US leads by an astronomical amount. Tyler says the US has more access to guns and although I have no idea where to get a gun I think people could get one pretty easily but we don’t need them. I can walk in the dark and not fear for my safety and Canada has only had 3 mass shootings in its whole history. Of course medical, dental, education, women’s rights, maternity and paternity leave, unemployment, help when Covid lockdown happened, clean free water in homes, housing, … on and on. America the “free” is antiquated and no longer true. Education has slid to 30 something in world rankings and Canada is in the top 3. Cost of education, daycare, child benefits ect. I could write paragraphs. Also it’s hilarious when you hear American say oh we’ll just moved to Canada like they can just drive here and settle down?!?there’s a border and you can’t illegally just move here and get a job. If you’ve lived in both countries you’d know the difference. I don’t even want to vacation there anymore since about 10 years or so ago.

First of all, the United States is a country of misfortune for me, I'm sorry if it sounds abrupt, but how I see it!\n\nHonestly I think that for the reputation of the country and their people, it will never change if the question of weapons is not settled! Why the heck not get into the fact Canadians are not forced to gestate a fetus against our will? It says something essential about the values of the two countries. The erosion of women's rights, LGBTQ rights, etc, is a major factor in choosing Canada over the US.

How can you be proud to live in a country that has contempt for it's own people making basic life as hard as possible and taking away basic rights at every turn? The USA is fast approaching a Third World Fascist Society. I'll pass at every opportunity. I have lived within 30 minutes of a major border town for over 60 years, and we are used to having US tourists shopping amongst us. You can pick them out in the parking lot. They are rude, ignorant, loud, brash, demanding, insulting. It's like they have never been taught manners and politeness at any point in their lives.

Why don't you want to discuss the abortion issue? For Canadian women, it's a pretty serious concern. No Canadian woman in her right mind would choose to live in a country that doesn't defend her rights. And women are more than half of the population.

Maybe Canadians are more concerned about gun violence than Tyler feels they need to be, BUT HERE IS WHY! \n\nAccording to USA today and Forbes magazine there have been more than 300 mass shootings so far this year and 200 people were shot on the 4th of July alone. These articles are dated July, 2023. A mass shooting was defined as 4 or more people killed or injured. There is a bbc article from May 2023 that states 48,830 people died of gun violence in 2021 in the US; that’s the population of a small city in Canada. Half those deaths were suicides, which occur because the guns are available. All of these articles mention the shear number of guns in the US, more guns than people, 120 guns per 100 people. So yes, I think Tyler is exhibiting his American bias and has become desensitized. His statements that it’s only in some places and to choose carefully where you live because violence isn’t every where are not borne out by the stats. These shootings happen in all corners of the country and every time they do people are shocked that it could happen in their safe little town. Think back to Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland, Uvalde these were not violent communities yet their schools were targeted. \n\nThe gun culture is high on the list of reasons I wouldn’t move to the US but do is politics, women’s rights, anti 2SLGBTQ legislation, health care, environmental protection laws ( or lack there of), lack of social programs, etc. Canada certainly isn’t perfect but I’ll take it warts and all over a US option. Don’t get me wrong I love to visit the US but living there is a whole different ball of wax. Thanks but no.

I am Canadian, I was born here in the 60's, I've travelled around the world, including the US but have always lived and worked in Canada. I love my country. saying that now....\nThe last 10 years for Canada has been the worst ever in history, our government has destroyed the foundation of what it means to be Canadian and has made this country look very bad on the world stage.\nEventually that will change. This currently gives reasons why a Canadian wants to move from Canada.\nYou are right about the US, there are places you can move to that offer quiet, country, safe living but like Canada, those places usually trade the good life for lack of opportunity.. the difference is most of Canada gives you the good life and opportunity in the same place. I spent a lot of time in the States as a child, mostly in the Los Angeles and Seattle areas. It was fun on the beach, going to Disneyland and it was nice staying with relatives and swimming in their pool everyday in the summer. However, I am Canadian and my heart belongs to Canada. Despite the fact that we as a nation do have our imperfections and problems, I am loyal to my country and want to contribute whatever I can to this place. Plus of course, there are the myriad aspects of life in the US mentioned in the video that I wouldn't be able to tolerate: lack of reproductive rights, attacks on the LGBTQ community, lack of safety/gun violence, no universal health care etc.

Thanks for telling people the truth. People are never told the truth. The Canadian government website is written in simple English and French and is very straight forward and you can apply to come on your own, but people insist in going through agents who are just making money off of them. Please read the website in detail. The government hides nothing on their website. Don't blame the government and try to understand what some of the immigration lawyers and agents are doing to you. If you are not well versed in the English or French language, get someone to help you with the website and application. Stop paying unnecessary money and go directly to the government. The agents and lawyers will be doing exactly what you can do. Not all of them are genuine. The government tells you not to pay people money, come to them. There are refugees sleeping on the pavements. Why come to the country under those conditions. We don't have enough housing right now for people and rents at the condos are very high. A one bedroom apartment in Toronto is about $2,000 plus.

Vancouver does have 2 languages. English and Chinese , I live in Alberta and I have to say I love it, you are right the cities etc here are isolated that is because the country is so huge . Why can’t they apply for the visas then apply for citizenship and take classes and the test like everyone immigrating to the US has to do? It’s really sad to see this happening. It’s not just the USA it’s all countries. You have to have visas if your not on vacation and sometimes if you are on vacation. Then to stay longer the visa has to be redone for a longer time. But they have to apply for citizenship and study and pass the tests. I have several friends that did it the correct way. I just want everyone to have a chance and do it right as well. We need them and entering illegally just isn’t okay.

Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected?
