GREAT!!. The whole world needs to stand up to this disgusting, bullying, ignorant, demented fool in the White House and his spineless quislings in the U.S. Congress. These tariffs are about nothing other than Trump's need to bully and exact retribution against everyone who he thinks has screwed, cheated and disrespected him, which in his mind is just about everyone in the world except Putin.

Trudeau is not very smart. He says there are no winners in a trade war. If he decides to have one, it is the U.S. who is easily going to come out on top. This may be the preparation to do what's right. He knows President Trump is right. If they charge 15% tariff so will we. That's only fair. We aren't charging more, just lets be on a level playing field.

Oh, the solution is pretty simple, as is the reverse of tariffs. Most of Canadians savings are poured directly or through investment funds into Wall Street to increase US investment. The main export of US is bonds and stocks. Let the Canadian government introduce a tax on any investment on its residents on any asset in US currency or us denominated. Immediately billions and billions of dollars ( CAD ) would return into the country. Too bad for US treasury bonds and stocks.

He said he WOULD resign once a new leader was picked through a democratic process. Right now, he's basically just doing photo ops in Ukraine, UK and anywhere else on our dime because Parliament is prorogued and the party in power, Liberal, is having a leadership race. So, while he may resign within the week once that leadership race is done, he's still technically in charge.\n\nWhat makes that race and the PM's prorogation so bad is that we're in the middle of a crisis - several actually - caused in part directly by Trudeau and his Liberals (and the NDP supporting them). Increase access to unused and agricultural land in urban arease\nImpose export tariffs on construction materials\nReduce union fees for construction workers\nRemove municipal restrictions on high density housing\nReduce temporary immigration\n\nJust a few things that would help the housing crisis. A housing deficit serves only the investors, it's time that the state produces housing at a reasonable price. Might be wishful thinking, but we need ways to keep housing affordable.

These are issues not unique to Canada. Most people here in Canada don't realize this. Housing is a huge issue, and needs to be fixed. But business investment into Canada is increasing. We won't see improvement overnight, but we are marching in the right direction. \nThe tariff threat is the only looming thing that can really hold us back. With a constant threat of massive tariffs, business investment will decrease.

The reason real estate prices have gone 300% but incomes only 100% is because of low interest rates. If you factor in carrying costs, the numbers aren't as extreme. The challenge now is that interest rates have increased to stave off inflation generated primarily during the covid years. While this has somewhat abated, real estate carrying costs remain elevated and price growth has stagnated, while the Canadian dollar has fallen, effectively resulting in reduced housing valuations (in US dollar terms). Can we ride this out until incomes catch up? Will productivity increases promised by leading political challengers (election coming this year) move the needle? Are tariffs and 51st state rhetoric just a negotiating tactic and bluster, or something real? Nobody knows, but we will find out..

When was the last time an advanced economy actually started to trend backward while everyone else was pulling ahead? Brazil? Venezuela? Performative, shallow, and stunningly unqualified is probably the best way to describe our administration for the last 10 years. Canada wont go to sell in EU or China it's over seas way to long and most of the times still has to go thru the US lol it's to costly for one, and EU just wont cover all the cost, forget the logistic nightmare. US is like a 2 hour drive away!! big big difference. So simple, trumps tariffs will make Canadien companies sell there product higher so they dont lose to much profits. what does that do? US wont buy! then companies shut down, people loose their jobs. very simple. Canada is the worse place to live in. USA is doing the right thing to pull back industries and putting tariffs. Better to put aleast 50% tarrif on Canadian products.

This is because the quiff in charge up here doesn't require Mexicans to have a visa. We up here are waiting to get rid of this spineless twerp. There are countless areas where it is unattended; some being almost unattainable to reach ,but there are also countless places unattended that are not so hard to reach. We up here are mostly uninformed about these numbers and if most of us knew? would have put pressure on our government. These numbers are quite alarming and if published on a national level?
