I'm a Canadian, and can comfortably state that Canada's reputation was cemented in the early seventies, and anyone choosing to come here based on that reputation, does so under false pretences. The majority of the immigrants I have come into contact with quickly become disillusioned with Canada, and eventually feel compelled to leave. The cost of living, combined with a lack of opportunities, and low wages, means that leading a normal life here is largely out of the question. Crime is a huge problem in BC, as Vancouver has become the de facto money laundering centre for North America. As a result, Canada is now extremely attractive for all the wrong reasons. At present, Canada is experiencing internal mass migration patterns driven by economic necessity, as the cost of living is prohibitively expensive in most urban centres. There is also a corresponding mass migration pattern of those who were born here away from the major cities, as Canada now lets in 500K, largely unvetted, immigrants into the country each year, most of whom are from war-ravaged, or third world, countries. With so many disparate languages and cultures from all over the world, it makes life utterly chaotic. The different nationalities never mix, and there is no effort expended to integrate with the Canadians who were born here. The Chinese live in Richmond, the East Indians in Surrey, and they have NOTHING to do with each other. Having traveled abroad, it's shocking how primitive it is in Canada. My advice to anyone thinking of coming here: Would you buy a ticket for a cruise on a ship that has a massive hole under the waterline?

100% correct. I was one of those who left Canada. The funny thing is I found many Canadians (not migrants) who are engineers worked in the low income jobs in my place and a very good friend of mine who is a Caucasian Canadian at the end moved to South America. Another thing is it is not always easy to move on from low income jobs there. I met an Indian who is an engineer after living there for 30 years became a taxi driver.

The reason people leave Canada within first 20 years is they do not have sizable retirement fund to enjoy comfortable retirement life after retirement. The reason half of that leave within 1 year is they cannot afford to live decently here until they find a job in their field or it takes many years before they start making a professional career and seeing the plight of immigrants of their community struggling in menial low paying jobs living in dorm rooms. These two ladies seems from east european backgrounds, these people have comparatively better prospects in Canada than immigrants from Asia or Africa. The reason skin colors make lot of difference. The reality is Canadian government is trying to do everything it can to create opportunities for all immigrants but unable due to racist white people. Just giving a job to immigrant is not enough, they must be able to sustain those jobs for reasonable periods of time. This is where Canada ls lagging. This is clear proof, Racism is very high in Canada. Just the valid proof is these two ladies open an channel and got 180K views within 3 months, they probably make lot of money on this channel. This is Canada. If they really have much productive jobs they will not do this.

you know, i live about and hour and a half below the border, in arlington wa, and we get alot of canadians coming down. ive never been up to canada really but it seems that buisness isnt as busy. not as many coffee shops or fast food to work at. in america, everyday starts, and it picks up speed, and ROARS. canada, a little bit slower. in america you can get a bunch of people together and go wild and yell and laugh and do stupid stuff and evyone is like hey, those guys got it figured out.

I know Canada is not perfect and I find you’re a bit hard on the red maple leaf... just because you don’t find the same things as your native country. It’s like\nfrench people coming from France, going to Quebec province an complaining about the food, the weather etc... well we’re not France, sorry to say! But I can\ntry to understand your situation; it’s probably inevitable that the comparison between your country and Canada would show up eventually. I see regularly \nimmigrants moving here and it’s true that it’s not easy. (Some people will have to be cab drivers because they can’t find work in their field). But you have\nopportunities if you work hard. I have the example of a Russian truck driver who move here with his family (wife, two kids). The man started by working for\na general transport company, then was able to buy his own truck. Now he’s able to work with whoever he wants. So I think every experience is different.\nOne other thing I noticed is that for families coming here it will always be easier for kids (even teens) to adapt quicker then their parents. I live in the east\n(the maritimes) and there is not very large cities. Some immigrants that come here will stay for a while but then they would move to a larger city (like\nToronto) because that city must have the most ethnic diversity in Canada. For cultural differences true that Canadians are like Americans in the «none»\nfashion trending. It’s a different mentality then Europe because over there fashion is a statement; you are judge on your appearance. Here, not as much.\nIt shows you don’t like winter and if you don’t your not a real Canadian! :-) Don’t generalize, a lot of people here like winter. And for taxes I don’t have a clear\nexplanation other then we have a huge empty country that needs roads, infrastructures, etc. and someone has to pay for it! My parents came to Canada in 1957 from England when I was six. They came across all those issues you described in your very accurate assessment of the immigration issue. The most frustrating was that ridiculous “ Canadian experience “ barrier . A catch 22 excuse that defies logic. It’s merely a not so transparent way of giving you a substandard wage for clearly qualified experience. It’s very insulting especially when it’s obvious in many cases that the country you came from has even higher professional standards than Canada. I’m quite shocked to hear this unfair ,discriminatory practice is still operating and naturally turns many excellent immigrants away. Canada is going down the toilet. I’ve lived here most of my life, born and raised, and it’s just a disgrace now. Forget about all the obvious things that have been stated like ridiculously overpriced homes, high taxes, crap weather etc. \nOne thing I’ve really become more aware of throughout my years here after travelling abroad is that Canadians are truly boring people. Me being Armenian in Canada there are only 143k Armenians in Canada I moved here with my parents when I was 10 I knew English so I was ok when I got here but I was continuously isolated because I am from the Caucasus formerly a part of the Ussr so the culture in Armenia is completely different than Canada I don't hate Canada but I don't feel like a Canadian Eastern Europe and The Caucasus feel like home....??❤??but the weather here is just like In the mountains cold except Armenia is humid and hot so I much rather finish my education here and go to East Europe I have many connections in Russia and Switzerland my Half sister is living in Switzerland so I have many places to go and fit in.

Having 3 degrees including a MSc. I can confirm that it's hard to get even an acknowledgement from the employer. Lack of Canadian experience or education comes in way and almost feels like discrimination . So many people have to ditch their dreams for a survival job. It's a trade off not everyone is comfortable doing. It's a shame so much human capital is lost but it also provides cheap stable labour so I'm sure they won't complain.

Canada is a country of immigrants, which means people who are, in my humble opinion, mostly quite self-centered and expecting the world from others, which never happens! Canada demands a gigantic capacity to adapt, to adjust and, in a word, to change...completely! You must be totally willing to leave everything behind if you want to integrate into Canadian society and this is extremely hard to do! Moreover, most immigrants come to Canada because they expect that country to give them a life of luxury or at least a very easy life, which can be true, as compared to certain other countries where life can be hell because of corruption, poverty or mismanagement and dictatorship. Now, don't fool yourself, you will find all of this in Canada too, in a very different way, although not always that different, but you will find it to a certain extent, depending on what you are trying to do here! Canada pretends to be a free and democratic country, but if there is one thing, that you are not supposed to do in Canada without dire consequences and reactions from most Canadians, it is criticism and voicing dissent! You will face repression too! I am 67 and I have lived in this country for over 30 years and now have lots of health problems, which I would probably never have had in another country, all this because of the frigging climate here...I just hate it here! And yes, don't be cultured and...play stupid and ignorant, otherwise you will face automatic rejection and that same stupidity and ignorance! A country of many cultures...yes, but also of deep rooted prejudices and intolerance! And if there is something that never changes in Canada, it is change! Interesting untold fact . During the entirety of the Atlantic slave trade Canada had 4700 registered slaves (Natives didn't register their slaves) Out of that 30% were black . It was abolished in many regions of Canada by 1797 and all of Canada by 1834 . But Canada still had indentured servitude until the early 20th century . They would round up kids on the streets of Europe and the ones that survived their passage here usually didn't make it to adulthood . Another problem after abolition were the natives still practicing slavery . The numbers of slaves in Canada was very small . Compare it to the Barbary slave trade . A persons personal outcomes in Canada have everything to do with what they put in . The fact is most black Canadians are not descendants from slaves in Canada .

I do not see Americans as friends to Canada. we have had a softwood lumber dispute for 30 years now. Canada has different laws which Americans will never accept. when it comes to trade, Americans are not Free Trade or Fair Trade but Trade domination to eliminate competition. Big portion of Canadian taxes are used to finance healthcare and education. Canadian hospitals suck, but at least they don't bankrupt you if you got sick. I have been bullied and made fun of by Chinese Canadians in high school. And now people think I am Chinese, how ridiculous. Do I need to wear a t-shirt saying I’m not Chinese? \nThis is just an excuse for white Canadians to justify their racism. From overwhelming amounts of bad experience: Generational abuse, damages, corruption, delusion, speaking and acting with certainty, even indisputable while other possibilities exist - creating more and more conflict and damages and time being wasted, is life in Canada. The Canadians who have taken power and control over and upon others and childrens lives, have sabotaged so many lives, have corrupted reasonableness, logic, and needed care. Many Canadian children have been and are still being tortured, trafficked, profited on, and poisoned. Victims are now disabled, expected to heal themselves often while still feeling tortured, and are largely left to continue to suffer while the majority basically looks the other way, works to party, play, go on vacations and such, and basically refuses to understand what went wrong, where it went wrong, and where it's going wrong, in childhood. This's why I think most don't get it and why Canada doesn't have smart people, and why people ask why from others instead of figuring it out or should already know the answer if so-called adults were competent and actually helpful. The ugly truth is that Canadians don't know how to raise children all that well - day after day, year after year, generation after generation. Emotional and physical damages are often permanent; one a child or a person is poison and traumatise, there's no coming back. The tax in Canada is not very high. At least compared to many other Western Nations. \nI came from Germany to Canada and the tax in Canada is a joke me according to me. Income tax with social contributions is roughly 42% even on average salaries in Germany. Sales tax is 19%. Cost for energy and fuel is almost ten times higher than in Canada.\nSure, Canada is pretty expensive. Housing, food and medication are massively overpriced compared to many at EU countries. I need medication every month and in Canada I pay roughly 180 Dollar while in Germany it was zero. Even without the health insurance I would only pay 30€ a month for that.\n\nOverall Canada is good, but doesn't necessarily offer a better quality of life. I only live here because I like Canadian people and the mentality is great.

While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

Canada has free healthcare, but it comes at an immense cost. Ive come out of hospitals in British Columbia and Alberta with worse conditions than I came in with. Wait times are long enough to kill people in the lobby. \n\nIve also been denied medical assesment in multiple Canadian medical facilities. Canadian immigration sucks. There is no control. I came as an immigrant and I witnessed many heart wrenching situations. Ghost immigrants and non resident Canadian citizens living in India, Dubai, Russia, Lebanon, USA, Israel, Turkey, HongKong etc. They barely lived in Canada, yet they have same rights like us, take child support subsidies, welfare, CPP, Old Age while we bust our a....s in the cold to pay taxes and build the Canadian system. Canada reject so many applications around the world of real innocents, well to do and honest people and because of fraudsters many people have to suffer. The growing Chinese population is rising and molding Canada to be a new version of China. We should have a kind of Super PR or near citizen status. Something that doesn't expire, but it is not full citizenship. This would allow to deport any one with fraudulent immigration process. They use the loophole, where people will surrender their original citizenship and therefore can't loose their Canadian citizenship anymore. Full citizenship would be granted after many years.

Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

What makes me laugh is the guy thinks he can come to Canada for house, job, food, clothing, with the whole fam damily\nand presto everything is great. Geez how many Canadians have 15 grand saved up. We have many people living on the\nstreets here as is. If I were rich I would find a street person that was willing to work and help him, first.\nTrudeau is a dumb ass that thinks he's Santa Claus with our hard earned tax dollars.
