In my teens, early 20s (early 00's) i dreamed of emigrating to Canada and Toronto. It had beautiful nature, was clean, safe, nice people and a great standard of living. But seeing it now especially the big cities is really sad. Many countries have had major turn arounds (Colombia for instance) and hopefully Canada can get back to being a great place again. Love from the UK .

Non Arab countries really struggle to understand Arab’s view & stance on that. Because all other countries (or at least Western countries) have open doors for refugees from war zones, especially for other Christian countries. Last example Ukrainian. It’s more important to save civilians life. It’s interesting to note that Christian countries open now doors for Palestinians while their own brothers & cousins refuse for political reasons

Seriously considering moving back to India!! After living in Canada for more than 2 decades, retiring here with the meagre income means skipping meals and maybe wear layers instead of high heating bills. \nAlthough conditions in India may not be as idyllic, but food and living costs are way cheaper and one can lead a decent and healthy life without having to starve it out !!\nWhat happened to the Canadian dream !! All of those issues are the same in any OCDE country. \n\nHousing market is shit in Europe too, even worse I would say, but at least they have decent public transports, so you can live outside a city and still go to your work fast. (Okay maybe construction quality and norms also)\n\nFrom experience, aka a French software engineer now living in Quebec, cost of life is waaaaaaay cheaper here than in Europe. I hate to say it but no wall will keep them out and we can't seem to train and hire enough border patrol and ppl to check and make sure the ppl coming in are good ppl... what if we. What you describe is the incompetent left wing Governments always do. Very large welfare, allowing indecent amounts of immigrants who generally are a drain on the economy. The Gov has to print (QE) more money . This of course reduces the buying power of the dollar. \nImmigration is only really good if they are educated with degrees with wealth producing qualifications ie, engineering, mining, architecture etc. The humanity type degrees are a total waste of time and money. All they do is suck the wealth out of companies, industries and countries.
