I've worked 5.5 years in the Netherlands in an ordinary town. I'm a Dutch citizen now, and I can easily move to Paris/Brussels/Rome. I'm moving in the upcoming months. Europe is kind of one big country, and Canada is a sparsely populated state with a notoriously cold climate everywhere.

I lived in canada six years. Got the citizenship. Then moved back to home country. There is both social and economic problems. Realised after doing a number of jobs and getting fired, that there is selective racism, largely immigrants are an underclass (canadian experience), too expensive, high taxes. One can live with the cold weather but not cold attitudes.

Came to Canada from Kuwait looking for a better future. Big mistake, shouldn't have flapped my gums at work, i had a decent banking job with a career and a future. Now im stuck driving a effin truck with a bachelors degree to make slightly above average with 0 appreciation from the public, and a middle finger to say thank you for my 70 hour work weeks. I see my bed once every 3 days. I sleep next to rats and roaches in truck by the ports. Belittled by port workers and customs agents. Barked at by everyone down to a forklift driver. Looked at as lesser of a human because of the colour of my skin. What a horrible life :( My sister has already left and she was a dentist in Toronto. My mom went back ages ago. My dad is the only one wanting to stay to take care of his elderly patients, many rely on him. All i do is pay taxes and hide my money in the business, what a corrupt and horrible financial system.

I for one do not agree at all with the indoctrination going on in schools pushing this LGBTQ agenda on kids I think its absurd! But to have someone convert to a different religion or they can not marry you is in my opinion another form of indoctrination and its definitely not tolerant of others beliefs. As a citizen trying to achieve admissions to complete a DVM in Canada, this is a required problem worth discussion. The country is in a deficit for veterinarians but one of the largest schools in Canada, OVC has increased their international admissions over domestic significantly. We need support for domestic students to increase before international students to ensure service to Canadian communities, especially rural Canadian places.

People in ER have been dying in Canada after waiting for 10-12 hours. Canada does not publish these horrible things in india or in any other country to maintain her image . Free healthcare means no health . Aldo, not everytjing is free in healthcare . You need to pay for dental , eyes, mediines , physio , other medical eqipment etc . Canada has been lying too much . Only when you live in Canada for one year , you know and then you regret . Canada is doing henious crime by misinforming people in other countries . Many people who could not go back to India or whereever they belonged to committed suicides . Shame on Canada !

One of your comments stated there is no freedom of speech in Canada. Can you elaborate on what you mean. You seem able to openly use your social media platform to be critical of Canadian leadership and society without fear of reprisals from the authorities. We’ve been here since more than a year now and we don’t have a car and we love the pollution free air here and the work life balance. If you live downtown, you don’t need a car as public transport is very convenient. If you don’t want to do things on your own and you definitely need the help from maids and so on, then Canada isn’t for you. It all depends on where you find a house. Very few people in downtown own cars. If you want to live a healthier life, Canada is a good place for that. We came in winters and settled with the help of relatives and thankfully it’s been good so far. Summers are amazing here. Job market is a struggle currently but it’s not permanent. And it is possible to find a job from India if you try for it. If you’re in IT, you don’t need to start from scratch. There are Indian stores almost everywhere and many Indian restaurants as well. You just need to find your place. And it’s an amazing place for plant based vegan people. Food quality is amazing and great safety restrictions. Healthcare also depends on where you live. If you find your people and friends and keep socializing with family, loneliness won’t be there. It’s better to move to a new country when you don’t have kids. \nAlso the accent gradually develops and there’s nothing to worry about. This place is very diverse and there are people with very different accents from all around the world. There is some struggle initially but it all depends on what your priorities are. Life here is very comfortable once you get used to the lifestyle here and the biggest thing is, work life balance and the quality of life. If you want to do things other than your job, this is a good place to do that. Kids also become much more independent here. Rest it all depends on what your goals in life are. Also one of the biggest factors is, if your partner/husband isn’t willing to help with housework or cooking, you can’t survive here. As simple as that. Many factors to consider.

I LOVE Toronto. But would never live there. I keep it as a weekend destination a couple times per year to soak in the vibes, meet the amazing people and enjoy the cuisine. I flat out refuse to pay that much for rent, considering I own a house a few hours away and my mortgage is less than half the rental cost for the average Toronto one bedroom. I really hope they can successfully tackle these problems because the city really is incredible.

Canada should put visa cap including immigration per country....follow the American policy. Its simply too many Indians that is changing the demographic balance by one ethnic group called Indian. And International student should not have full time work authorization, its directly hitting the location population employment opportunities.

This happens everywhere no matter the location. I paid £30,000 for a MSc being a british citizen at a UK university. But my compatriots/friend paid upwards of £50,000 for the tuition alone for one year. We were lucky the education provided was really amazing but I couldnt imagine being in their position.
