If the various levels of government can provide surcharges, surtaxes, airport improvement fees, they can raise corporate taxes to 25 percent. The strained health care system is the scariest thing for Canadians. Not only is the population aging, but the immigration has increased to the point where we won't be able to help the new immigrants with proper health care let alone the people who lived here all their lives. I see too often, immigrants being blamed for this but it's not their fault. It's poor government management.

I'm Canadian too, born and raised, and I have to say this is accurate. Shit health care, insane taxes, low pay, impossible cost of living.... I live in a rural town now (used to live in a city!!) and even here it's becoming unbearable. How does bringing more people here help housing? More people means more homes needed driving up the cost. We dont need diversity! This is my home and Im sick of othrr cultures that are not compatible. Things like common courtesy is not common in other cultures. This is thanks to his carbon taxes BS initiative causing high cost in fuel and resulting in major inflations in high food prices, rentals, etc. How can you help refugees and immigrants while Canadians can't even afford to live in Toronto, etc. You need to take care of Canadian first and foremost. Taking in 500 thousands new immigrants and refugees each year isn't going to be help Canada to get this mess we are in. Lower number like 150-200 thousands of new immigrants | refugees is feasible but NOT 500 thousands new immigrants and refugees.

Actually, the fact that there are so many agencies that supposedly help homeless people doesn't mean that help can be accessed so easily. In fact, there is an extreme shortage of housing in Canada and all shelters are full, mentally ill and homeless folks can not be placed in regular shelters, the right approach would be rehabilitation centers. Unfortunately, rehabilitation centers are for profit. \nSo it's hard to say what exactly they are spending those billions on.

There are lots of great paying jobs in Canada to help with cost of living, it really depends on you at the end of day and if you can handle that type of job. Pretty easy to find a 100k+ job if you are motivated and want to improve your life.

Obviously, no country is perfect, but I moved to the US this year and really like iit, Canadians can get US work visas like TN or L1 adjudicated at the airport, a huge benefit as US consulates are very slow.\n\nMy reasons for prefering the US:\n\nMuch better career opportunities, paid morre, less tax,most things are cheaper , from eggs to houses, even Amazon..much better selection and variety in the US.\n\n\nLiving in cold weather is bad for your health, sunshine and being outdoors is much better. Even in November I can go outside in shorts. The long winters in Canada are depressing and bad for your health.\n\nUS has every climate, if I want cold/snow, I can go to Colorado or Montana etc..you can go to Florida, Hawaii ...Vegas NY..\n\n\nMuch better flight options available in the US. Houses are cheaper and bigger.\n\nMuch better infrastructure and highway network in the US, awesome for road trips, very clean rest stops.\n\nMuch better to be paid in USD, helps when you travel the world, CAD is worthless.\n\nAgain, if you are in your 20s/30s, and qualify, emigrate to the US.
