It's become a nightmare here not just for young people but everyone looking for work. These huge line-ups are not even new. For those who remember when Target opened stores here in Ontario and the massive line-ups for those minimum wage part-time jobs! It was insane. This has been going on for over a decade now. But it's even worse than people realize. They neglect to mention that female students at places like U of T turn to prostitution to survive. Not just a few, a significant percentage! There are entire websites devoted to students looking to prostitute themselves to pay rent and tuition! Wake up people! If government wants to get rich off of people, get our pay higher, don't just shovel more into the fire.

I still believe Trudeau and jagmeet are trying to destabilize Canada. We have so many people who can and need to work, we don't want or need any of these asylum seekers they're not immigrants they're coming into this country illegally. They have completely bypassed our immigration system how many murderers, rapists, kidnappers have come across the border..as asylum seekers...

We have a job shortage, not a labour shortage. In addition to the international students, the liberals created many special immigration pathways, one of which issues to almost everyone in Hong Kong a 3year work permit followed by a PR giveaway. These Hong Kong people are highly educated and skilled, but some of them I met said it is very difficult to find a job in Canada now. They have to accept a junior position with 6 years of experience or even work a survival job. The reasons that keep them here are cheaper house price and can stay away from China and they are gladly being lowballed. Helping people is a good thing but I feel that our young people are being sold, I've heard from many of them who cannot find a job recently.

It's a double edged sword. The industry (fast food, food retailing, services) WANT those people, be it international students, refugees or other to work because there is insufficient response from the local population of young people. Even certain restaurants and hotels had to remain CLOSED after the pandemic, because they could not find enough people to work. The government covid money dissuaded the local population from working. It is a huge mistake to admit so many Indian students attending low-credentialed private colleges and then allow them to work 20-30 hours a week. Trudeau and Miller are to blame for this. But at the same time, there was a labour shortage due to the ageging population and the fact that people have fewer kids today. Canada should give greater priority to trained professionals in areas where there is a need, such as construction, education and nursing. People in India, China, eastern Europe and other countries can get very good training in technical colleges, but it is the wealthy families in these countries that don't want their kids working these jobs.

Liberals say they are bringing skilled labour yet those lines are as long a 4-9 buses, Skilled workers don’t come in lines of 300 people like that. Those are cheap workers exported from india into our canadian borders, I respect skilled hard working immigrants not these cheap mcdonald’s cashiers or lame losers. They are taking those jobs from are kids. This is a serious issue but trudeau continues to ignore all this because it is better to stay quite and talk about supporting T***ns youth.

As an immigrant myself who came 12 years ago I had to work 2 jobs and study at night French to be able to adapt. When I came I already had a university degree and then did my masters degree here in Canada . At the end it pay off I had a good job now. The main requirement for people coming to Canada should be an university degree at least as in the past . That shows you are able to learn and adapt to new things plus you have knowledge about a specific field .

How bout get all our people working first before bringing all these people in. The infrastructure is not in place for all newcomers. Give your head a shake.

Canada does not have a shortage of people for labour; Canada has a shortage of educated people who can perform. Our education systems are an abject failure that have produced a generation of citizens who are not prepared to work. As an immigrant myself, but Canadian citizen. This mass migration that Trudeau has embarked on is part of their globalization agenda. The influx of low/non skilled people, that do not carry the same traditional Canadian values, is specifically designed to dilute the existing Canadian culture, and weaken the middle class, only to replace it with the elites globalist control. In the long run, not bringing in skilled workers that can positively impact and grow the economy will be very detrimental in the long run. Also, in speaking with many of these immigrants their allegiances and not with Canada, if you ask them if the are willing to join the armed forces to defend Canada, they say no. Hence, Canada is also importing ideologies that don't intend to integrate into our society. If you want to come to Canada, integrate or leave! There are also enough skilled and non-skilled workers, that are ready and able to work, it is visible - everywhere you go there are more and more homeless and out of work people.

I'm all for bringing in the 'skills & talent' with new immigrants. But these new Canadians must fit the criteria that Canada needs and they must come in through the legal system, be properly vetted and willing to abide by the laws of the land. Instead, what Trudeau is bringing in through open borders are freeloaders, people who take advantage of the welfare system and refuse to work. And many of them have long criminal histories. Some even insist on bringing their quarrels with them along with the hatred they harbour for other groups of people. Then they proceed to protest in the streets about what is going on in the countries they left and worse, they harass others on college campuses and elsewhere because they don't like their race, culture or ethnicity. We see it everywhere. And if we Canadians complain about it, we're called every name in the book. Not fair to Canadians. Not fair to those who are waiting in line to come in legally.

There is nothing wrong with immigration. What needs to happen is we need faster processing to get these people working. There are doctors, nurses and others sitting on welfare waiting to actually fill these jobs. Every hospital is crying for staff. Senior's homes also. They take jobs that the lazy Canadians don't want or are too proud to do. I was trying to hire labourers and plenty of times was told they wouldn't get out of bed for less than twenty dollars. FFS

So brutal. I have a 15 year old looking for her first job and all her friends ate too. Guess what.....all those jobs we used to get as we entered the workforce are gone. Every single DQ A&W grocery store McDs etc jobs go to foreigners. So where will all the high school kids work? They are becoming despondent and depressed. It's really sad. It also appears that you are at the back of the list if you are born here and God forbid too white. So what is the deal with all these Walmart's etc hiring only foreign people ? It must have some reason that is going to destroy the country because when a local high school student has to compete with ,300 foreigners for a low paid job this is not going anywhere good. It is extremely distressing. Just resign and incorporate Canada into India or somewhere because it's not Canada anymore.

My country is planning on opening up to Indian immigrants at the end of the year. People are outraged as our society cares a lot about cleanliness and manners which India is not really known for. However, we are only allowing the elite and educated ones in to our system. Why? Because look at what happened to all the western world now that is dealing with mass immigration. But to be fair though, I had work with Indians in my previous jobs and some are pleasant to work with. But a lot are not. I got bullied and being called ‘Chinese’ even though I am not.

I am curious to know how many people under 30, who are from Canada, still see their future here? or are planning to move to another country. I am in my 40s, and watch every day as justin gives away everything I have worked for in my life. I am shocked to learn that people coming on Tourist visa (from developing countries) to Canada can apply for Job here and once hired can change visa status while in Canada. Never have I ever heard about this while staying in UK on work permit for 4 years that UKBA /Home Office has ever approved such low quality visa that Trudeau is flexible about. Neither Harper's/Kenney's administration (under which I immigrated to Canada back in 2014) has ever approved such cockamamie change of visa status. I think its left for the individual who has already acquired the visitor's visa and with dual intent, to decide if they will bear the consequences of going to the boring locations where jobs are available. Unless someone going to Canada to socialise vs being on a sole mission to work and have something to take back home. Poverty in Africa is real my brother.
