Good, increase the numbers for refugees as they will vote for you... adding to Canada's economy through skilled workers is such a lame idea for a lefty poster boy????

There needs to be a hard ban on immigration from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh (aka those that most abuse the system). Send all those temporary workers and students back and exclude these countries from participating in the different streams. High skilled immigration from Europe is fine, but nobody needs third worlders ruining the economy and society. \n\nCanada can either take this step now or face a much, much more grim reality with far more drastic measures in by the end of this decade

The government is for inviting too many immigrants that Canada can manage. These policies have out immense pressure on the economy.
|

yes, there moving back home because Canada went for a S*%T when they all moved here and crashed our economy.
|

temporary foreign workers should be cancelled when canadians cant get jobs. Mass immigration needs to end for years so that housing costs can drop for the economy to grow. For infrastructure to be built for everything to adjust

They are actually cunningly acting like they do not know what they have done. First they invited immigrants more than they can handle. Now they have taken good amount of fees from the international students and now they are telling them only that they are a burden to their economy. Such a cunning and 2 faced government. Their other provinces are so under developed that they do not even have proper public transportation there. So who will settle there with no jobs and other such necessary services. They are just playing hide and seek with the immigrants especially the international students.

In my last 6 months here, Me and my Family had a very positive experience meeting supportive and friendly people. Specially my daughter was really happy and quickly integrated with the support of very precise education system. However, language remains the main barrier to us on integrating fully. Yes ,as an immigrants, it's essential to learn the language to truly become part of the culture and community, but it's challenging to achieve this in a short period. even it says short of Skill employees , Professionals like me who had a successful career back home makes its really difficult to find a job due to language barrier. I wish there were a proper mechanism to help candidates like us find jobs while we learn the language, We are eager to work, earn, and contribute to the economy.

We don’t have an economy what’s he talking about. A lot of back peddling too little too late

At the end of the day the main issue is the Government used Indian students to supplement the economy at the expense of the Canadian citizens. Now in 2024 the Trudeau liberals still refuse to pause it because of the economic impact it will have on their corporate friends and the schools. They also subsidize immigrant students which incentivises businesses to only hire Indian students. Canadians can't find affordable housing or a minimum wage job and Indians are paying the price. I feel bad saying it because I'm not a racist but I don't want anymore Indians, or any immigrants at all, here unless they fill a vital need in the economy. We simply no longer have the housing or jobs and it's as simple as that. Enough is enough.

Canada has a ponzi scheme of an economy and the only things propping it up is a real estate bubble and low skill, low wage foreign workers/students....its a house of cards and if the government sneezes it will come toppling down. Theres no solution other than to go though alot of pain to fix it. Personally i think its time to look for an exit, Canada is going to be a difficult place to get ahead for at least the next decade.

Economy and culture already destroyed.

Immigration is not the problem. Slave labour is. If people were given full time employment with a fair wage, they could build their own homes and contribute to the economy. That’s the problem! It has nothing to do with where anyone is born. Although that is a tool used to create separation and division of citizens , a distraction to take the focus of poor leadership and incompetence, mismanagement of public funding due to corruption that has been going on for centuries with the elites. People know the truth now. The unsustainable system cannot hide itself any longer.

Should have cut foreign workers and students 6 years ago. Now they are flooding the country to the point Canada's economy couldn't keep up.

Interesting …figuring out how to help the economy is the way to go….while maintaining the wages of Canadians citizens. Well done Trudeau

This will only hurt the economy, driving the price of goods up..they know this.

Trudope wrote an article criticising Harper for this in 2014. He used it to prop up the Canadian economy and is only making a change because an election is coming up. Trudope criticized Pierre for EV tariffs and now look at him too.

Germany is embedded in economic social interventionism since 1970. And that leads to a slow failure of the economy by increasing taxes and regulations. Germany doesn't grows anymore. Adding to that german governments embraced gender ideology, an ideologic and antiscientific agenda that brings conflict into families.\nThey did some adjustment sometimes, but the political frame continues the same and it's crumbling.\nNobody wants to embark a sinking ship.

For Turkish guy, it is normal that he wants to stay in Germany. Because the dictateur president Erdogan killed the Türkiye. The economy is very bad in Turkey. He has no other chance to leave the homeland. But I am sure, he is thinking about moving to another developed country.

Immigration is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the contribution of the skilled newcomers plays a crucial role in the sustainability of the economy. On the other hand, the possibility of cultural conflict and local infrastructure being overwhelmed poses significant risks to the well-being of every member of society, so it’s understandable that some people might not wish to extend the warmest welcome to immigrants.

Canada is an Immigrant country, historically White supremacists / Imperialists have basically genocided/ moved to reservations the Native Canadian Indians, like USA and Australia. The Land belongs to them. It was violently Colonised By the British/ French, and other Europeans, similar to USA. Its an immigrant nation. She is an immigrant of former USSR. Canada's problem is that they have been in recession for 3 decades. They have not capitalised on opportunities in the Economy. There is a lack of jobs, lack of manufacturing, over dependence on USA industries. Poor leadership.

?. Scapegoating immigrants for the housing problem is nuts. These people have no idea how the economy works.

Canada has huge land and a tiny population! Weak economy is not caused by immigration but the lack of ability to utilize its ENORMOUS resources! Even if Canada just focuses on farming, it can't have economic crisis ever! For all that, it needs planning and of course human resources!

A more interesting and fair report would have interviewed the people living in working class areas in the host countries in the EU who are seeing the safety of their communities change drastically as a consequence of this illegal immigration which is supposedly meant to prop their economy up.

I lived in canada for ten years, and become a citizen which im really proud of. But now i believe the majority of people realise we do need a major change in everything. Gov did a terrible job about the economy, and immigration policy, making canada not a suitable habitable place to live.

The issue is not just the students I agree and seen students who came recently have made things mess but who to blame how can a country ask even 5.5 bands holders can get visa …..but major issue is the refugees who are coming they are paid for being refugee ….the taxes of Canadian are been given free to refugees …I came across a Afghan family they get almost 7000 dollars a month they don’t do anything they eat good pay for their grocers and enjoy life on the other hand Indian students pay thousands of dollars to come here giving share in the economy but guys from haryana punjab who are just 12th pass immature they are spoiling the name of the entire community as a whole it’s sad to see

Abusive immigration has been the way to destroy civilizations, empires, cultures, economies and of course the middle class, we are returning to a model from the beginning of the 20th century, notice that large companies are once again making grotesque profits and are increasingly concentrating on fewer economic groups.
\nIt is a programmed cycle in which the population is educated and then impoverished, to have access to cheap and selective work, there is a global unemployment rate of over 30% and a return to rural areas, it is already happening in the center and south of America. This has happened before, only the apparent domestic goods give the sensation of permanent progress.

That one dude is delusional. Yeah immigration bolsters the economy and is beneficial WHEN you have the infrastructure to support it. Canada, at the moment clearly does not, and they think that, instead of fixing infrastructure, this is somehow going to help?

Okay. To begin with, being white does not automatically make one Canadian. Immigration is the foundation of Canada; it is all about which generation of immigrant you are. The one mistake Canada made was to accept an excessive number of immigrants and students during a short period of time. This allowed students to work full-time employment, defeating the purpose of student visas. Why is no one discussing asylum seekers or refugees, which has made matters worse? All amenities, housing, etc., are provided to refugees using taxpayer funds. The money paid by taxpayers is meant to be used by those who made the tax payments. \n\nAll legal immigrants pay substantial fees and continue to pay taxes while they are employed, none of which has an impact on the economy. \n\nEmployers always give preference to Canadians with the necessary abilities over immigrants, even if the latter have higher skill levels. Despite having excellent credentials and expertise, I was not selected for any interview because I am not Canadian. Thus, give up lying and acting like the victim. Concentrate on the real issue. You are the preferred candidate for any employer if you are Canadian and meet the requirements.

Life as immigrants is very hard everywhere!!! Unfortunately isbthe human way, we always look for a better future. The problem is having to go out of your birth place to be able to have a future. Specially with an slow economy. And more people than jobs available!!! One more reason to believe in family planning, human population control is a must. Impossible to pay for someone else's surpluses!!! ???
