As much as he is right about the fact that the world needs to do more to stop the killings and getting the necessary aid in, i cant help but think that we will never know whether the palestinians actually want to stay in that land or to escape the fighting until the borders are open. We cant speak for everyone and surely not all palestinians are of the same opinion. Open the crossing and let those who want to go away from the warzone go and those who want to remain will stay.

I am not against international students coming here. Actually its good that young people wanna come here. However is it fair to ask if the government allows almost 1 million people to come, is it fair to ask the government to also at least build 500k new housing and all the support related to that like roads, hospitals, police stations, etc. if not then dont invite people over so they can fight each other for space to be able living here. Palestinians should not leave their land, but they should also actively seek some steps towards peace. You can't demand end of fighting and peace when you actually started the fight with unimaginable violence.... That is not how common sense works....

Years ago I had a guy that I worked with that was Palestinian. He said he loved his home and missed it and his friends but he knows he is safer and better off here. He felt is was a fight his people cannot win. He also felt the other Arab countries were not helping them.

Basically Arabs won’t take in Muslim refugees. Europe and USA will. Palestinians cannot live peacefully because they always want to fight with others even when they HAD (past tense) homes jobs and families.

People fight less, there more friendlier and less angry than Americans and the average person just has more material wise, there's far less homeless people compared to America.\nThe Canadian healthcare system is just basic care, my doctors already retired. \nThe system is overtaxed. Moved to Canada in 2017 and looking to leave in 2024. I was lucky to come here with a job and I’m making a six figure income even though I’m far from being successful. However, the problem with canada at the moment is even if you have a decent job and not too bad salary, you still can’t afford a home and the rent keeps going through the roof. Canada’s obsession with immigration is lazy and irresponsible. The politicians and elites see immigrants as cash cows and instead of creating companies that generate jobs and wealth, they speculate in the housing markets which are fuelled by immigrants. Immigration is not necessarily a bad thing but you do it with a plan, definitely not as radically as Canada did under the liberal government. The massive immigration only helps the rich, the already haves and the investors. Ask middle and lower classes how they feel about their life quality in Canada, do they really benefit from the immigration? They fight hard for jobs with minimum wages, pay for ridiculous rents, wait in the long line at the emergency rooms, get into bidding wars in the housing markets …. If you are not rich, simply don’t come to Canada. It’s not worth it unless you enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck and owning nothing.

His most probably very expensive education pays off. But thinking with the same logic, all the other war and/or dictatorship refugees (from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan,...) would probably also prefer living in their own countries without the fear of terror, torture and death. Does that give us European & Westerners the mandate to get rid of those evil regimes? This is not a rhetorical questions - I am afraid, there is no answer without blood on our all hands.
