It has nothing to do with Canadian culture..it is about the insecurity the Canadians have from South Asian immigrants that they will take over Canada, just because of their hunger for success. Ask any immigrant from India, he would be working 2-3 jobs while locals do not want to work. Ever wondered why employers want Indian students to work at Tim Hortons and grocery stores rather than Canadian kids??? Just keep your hatred aside and talk to any Indian student and then compare them with any local kid roaming around in the posh shopping malls. You will realize the difference between sense of entitlement and sheer hard work.

Canada goes to these countries and market themselves so that why u see young students are coming to Canada . 10 years ago not many people knew Canada in many countries everyone wanted to go to USA . But then Canada started to go to those countries and tell them to come to Canada , pay for high tuition and they may get a chance for PR. Same as Canadian running to US for work and stay there longer than usual .

The guy you interviewed who's parents came here and assimilated to the culture should be the model for immigration to Canada. The influx of students who came here on false promises by immigration scammers is not suatainable and has clealy got to a point where its costing the country. The system needs to change to protect future immigrants and Canadians

Thank you for educating Canada. Most of these students are not at fault but unfortunately, they are trying to stay in Canada. We need to control this immigration problem. The strain on housing and the medical system is out of control. I truly believe that the Liberal government is trying to destroy the country. They are unable to do basic math. The school is not responsible for monitoring the number of visas given out. It is the government that allocates the visas. Embarrassing that they are blaming the schools. Marc Miller is another Liberal who has to go.

Just watched interviews with torontonians and they are all clueless, don't seem to know about the treason going on in the government, the racism against white Canadians, the incentives given to companies to hire international students. \nI don't know what planet they live in.\nToronto is ruining this country. \nAt my son's work they want to get rid of the union so they can hire only international students.

No international student(or Indian) will come to Canada if there is no route to PR. Do you think Canadian colleges and universities are very high in the ranking list? Not at all. So imagine if students only had the option to return home after graduation, none will come to Canada and the economy will suffer. International students exploitation is happening on the federal level, then why bother with Provincial and colleges? These are temporary visas but ultimately, PR(settlement in a new country) is the goal, otherwise these students will not pack their lives and come over here.\n\nReference: I came to Canada in 2022 and left in early 2024. There are many reasons why I left but one I felt was the demographic shift and the amount of refugees that country accepts. Additionally Canada needs to raise the bar on the quality of people coming in. Canada does not need scammers and those who cannot support themselves, much less send for their families back in India. \nDeport and let them apply like everyone else. A student visa is just that, not a license to become a PR and citizen.

The situation in Australia is very similar, however not as bad yet. But we face similar issues in regards to housing affordability and massive immigration. Australia only has 27 million people and last year it invited 700.000 migrants, mostly from Asia. There are talks of reducing the number of international students but I doubt it’ll take effect. The international students are the Australian universities’ cash cows.

We shouldn't even have international students right now. Look at the disaster our campuses are....teaching nothing but indoctrination these days. Time to close the damn door for a bit.... let people ruin their own countries for a change.

Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. These people come in and work hard, odd jobs (not to mention the exceptional skilled ones as well like Doctors, health care workers etc.) which the regular Canadian wouldn't do. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. Ask your conscience, without these immigrants, you wouldn't be getting your late night coffee at the time Hortons drive thru, no one to take your blood works without you waiting several months in waiting, no ways for universities to subsidize tuition fees for the poorer Canadian students. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Where are they to serve you? Where are the so called patriotic 'original' Canadian Doctors'? They are off to US to earn more money. U think they care enough for their home country?\n If Canada won't, somebody Else will accept these people. Hence get rid of ur ego and attitude, it's YOU that needs immigrants more than they need you ?? \nLastly, don't forget your ancestors too arrived here in ship loads from Europe as immigrants, taking away the land belonging to the native Indians who were slaughtered and today live as prisoners in reservation lands... on their own soil. No more jobs because of the student send them back

These students are victims. Canada must fix the system if it’s not working for them. Don’t portrait people who follow established Canadian process as culprits! Canadians don’t do anything but become keyboard warriors. At least the host is trying to bring light to this issue but what next??? When are we going to make policy level changes??? When will Canadians protest against this?? They won’t cause it’s a lot of work and Canadians are just lazy! Look at France! Look at Dutch! WAKE UP CANADA ??

Students are young and add to the workforce. Unlike unvetted refugees who immediately get financial assistance housing medical dental schooling benefits for their entire families and for decades. I would rather have students who contribute over 4 billion dollars to the Canadian universities and are willing to work and support themselves and their families.

As a retired community college teacher I can attest to this so called 'international (immigration) students circumventing the legal system with the Government complicity, which by the way makes the afore mentioned colleges richer to the detriment to this country economy because is it not sustainable to have so many people with mediocre skills at best to inflate the labour work force artificially. There’s not international students, there Punjabi’s sneaking there way to get a permanent residence. Depot them all back to India and let other countries have a chance here

Haven’t people studied abroad in the past with no issue? Like exchange students ect? Why now are there all these expectations of staying afterwards? I feel bad that they were lied to by agencies in their home country, but their anger should be towards them (the people that lied to them) not the country they are a guest in. \n\nAlso, I haven’t researched this but, I wonder if they behave the same and make demands of other countries they study in, or if it’s just Canada they think they can walk all over and push around.

But the problem here is they are no international students. They all are from one country. (INDIA)

I do hiring for a major retailer in Canada. 90% of interviews were with international students and they would LIE so much and say anything to get what they want. So I wouldn’t believe any of their claims during these rallies.

International students stealing student resident, stealing program with contingency. I mean as a canadian citizen I want to leave my own country to pursue opportunities elsewhere

The only Canadians that live in Brampton are the homeless ones. the rest of Brampton is full of foreigners. Unbelievable how entitled these people are it's no secret that Canada's job Market is flooded with foreign Indian workers. And to hear that one student say that the government should be listening to them just goes to show how selfish they really are. With all due respect saying the govt should help them get jobs here doesn't reflect what they do for most who were born here or immigrated otherwise than coming as an international student. It's not a right to stay. I feel bad for those who were sold a lie by the immigration consultants but something needs to be done to fix things as it's so badly broken. We're not promised all of these things that some of the students are thinking they're entitled to now that they're here. Sadly too many feel so entitled nowadays regardless of where they come from

Those Indian students once they get their PR, ? will leave PEi and move to Ontario. It's just going to be a cycle.

Our Canadian students can not find summer jobs because of international students. This is the most heinous situation.

Too many Indian temporary students, the newcomers, are suffering on top of all canadians. If one of the 2nd largest population immigrates to Canada, it affects all of us. It's like pulmonary ventilation. When the volume decreases( job), the pressure increases( job crisis). All the food, Hospitalities, and health sectors are filled with temporary Indian students because of Recruiters in HR are all Indians and their priorities are only Indians as they understand these 70% Indian students have huge loan back home and came with fake financial documents that were presented at the Canadian consulate at India. Need to investigate them. Every day, there are Indian newcomers, and our Canadians homeless and Burglars are on the rise. The Govt has to stop issuing a visa now.

As a former international student, my two cents on this matter. \nWhen we apply for study permit, there’s a section about what the applicant will to do after study is complete. There, we have to convince the visa office that applicant will leave canada after course completion. How on earth are students protesting and demanding to stay back when they themselves declared to go back after studies??\nAlso, name of the permit is Study Permit. So study, why bother about PR??

Its a simple thing. Folks are trying to leave for a better life, they then got to know about Canada giving 3years postgraduate work permit to international students who studied for two years and, there are permanent residence programs you qualify and can apply for after getting one year Canadian work experience. This is what encouraged many international students to head in this direction. Unfortunately, half of about 800,000 international students admitted to Canada came from India (if i'm not mistaken), many of them had to borrow the money to pay fees or their family sold their ancestral land or used it borrow money with the hope that when their child who they sponsored with the money is done, he/she will be the family's hope to not only pay back, but help them relocate too. However, the picture is not looking like it anymore as the demand for jobs surged and many are not able to get jobs or can't find the kind of jobs that can make them get PR and, their current work permit is about to expire, which means they may be faced with going back home with nothing so, they are pulling every string they can to stay back because, returning will mean they are a failure and can even cause their family a lot of emotional damage. Infact, i have heard of some of them who committed suicide as they are not meeting up and are not ready to go and face the shame back home. So, what you are seeing is the definition of desperation!

Please don’t propagate one side of the story .. if you would like to be a free and independent media putting ground realities .from facts to facts .. I would encourage you to do fairly .. there is definitely a bias in your reporting just like true north reporter .. Disclaimer : I am citizen not a student and talks to apples to apples not peaches to apples .. there is a reporting bias not fair media …

Jobs should go first to Canadians and not to international students. They are here to study and NOT to work.

i think the types of immigrants we are seeing in Canada are also coming in with a sense of entitlement - specially the international students. we don't owe them anything
