I see many homes once occupied by a family go for sale and become an apartment building for students and/or immigrants. So many people going into the homes that traffic increased many times , moving trucks any time of the month (they must rent by day or week?) and they really pack them in. A 4 bedroom home can see 10 people in it, they don't use the driveway, it sits empty in most of the homes that sold for this purpose . They are generally quit and very inconspicuous except for the people in and out all the time with backpacks on. My only complaint is they they move, they trash the furniture on the side of the street for the neighborhood to enjoy until the city picks it up. \n\nThe person owning that home is making bank on the rentals. so I see why they don't want to stop this.

Canada has become an exclusive club for people who want to own a home or own real estate. Supply side issues but open immigration has made it a real estate haven for investors from all over the world. Black money or not, you can easily bring drug or money laundering, or other dishonest (a.k.a haram) money into Canada, and law enforcement is asleep at the wheel. Sorry but a lot of people use their children as leverage for pitty, trust me a lot of them arent coming to make a better life for their kids. My parents left Canada with me as a child. In 2014 I moved back to Vancouver. I bought 3 houses in Alberta where homes are cheaper. It was a struggle to survive in Canada. In Alberta the government fines you for not having shoveled the snow on your sidewalk in -40 weather when no one is walking around anyway. The people who rented my houses were all using drugs and a nightmare and protected by laws. The rents in Vancouver are astronomical and shopping very expensive. I sold it all and left in 2021 and now travel the world and make YouTube videos and living the dream and saving a ton of money.

As a Canadian I can officially say without a doubt in my mind there's foreigners on pretty well every jobsite in Atlantic Canada they come here with nar bitta $ and get put through college or university while our own people struggles working min wage jobs to make enough to get that chance.

People from all over Canada are moving to Alberta , Calgary in particular. The cost of living is less than Ontario, Quebec and BC. The proximity to the mountains is great. Calgary is a beautiful city with great neighborhood’s and parks. The technology sector is attracting a large number of companys to Calgary because of the reasons above but also because the work force is one of the youngest and most educated,mainly because of the training for the oil and gas sector. Being just over an hour from one of the most beautiful national parks in the world doesn’t hurt. Banff National park. Also with access to many summer vacation spots in south and central BC. All these things make Calgary a great place to live. Alberta also has many other cities and towns worth checking out. With a competent and caring provincial leader in Danielle Smith, Alberta’s future is looking bright.

Many Indian home owners give them rents at much lower price than the market rate which goes up to 1400 dollars a month but since they are Indians and new to Canada they give them for 1000 dollars a month. If students 3 people live in that, if families 2 people. Indian home owners do that for food cooking smells and other reasons. I see some new immigrants both working couple make up to 90k per year but still live in basement apartments for more than 3 years to save money. Indians are money saving people, do not want to spend money.

Did these people not do any research? Did they just jump a plane and immigrate to another county without knowing what it's like? If I decided to immigrate to India, you can be sure I would have investigated everything and made a visit or two to check things out first, lined up a job and then make my decision. This is missing SOOOO much of the actual story of what is going on over here. There is a lot of corruption in our housing market fueled by faked incomes just for starters. That's not including the massive supply and demand crunch we are facing on multiple fronts from having too much people suddenly, to having not enough housing suddenly. For those curious, you can find some CBC marketplace videos that cover some of this from a couple years back. The banks have been caught f'ing around as well, what with pushing through mortgage requests that should never have been allowed to occur; and that's just what we know about. \n\nNo offense to anyone in this video, or anyone else like them. We know that a good large chunk of most of you are not at fault here with what's going on. But there are some people from all sorts who are all doing their own dirty little deeds, and they are culminating into the gigantic pile of BS that the rest of us now get to deal with. \n\nAnd make no mistake, what I am saying is not even close to the full extent of the BS going on. Numbers reported are true and its going to increase in 2024. I live in the capital and I see dozens of distress home sales due to increased mortgages. People face high taxation, heavily overburdened healthcare system, unaffordable rentals, loss of jobs, grocery prices over the roof, rapidly increasing crime rate and robberies, uncertainty about the good days again. Canada used to be a good place to settle, but now there are dozens of other countries that are welcoming with an affordable peaceful life. For Indians, there is absolutely no reason to hunt for a job or better life here as it involves start from the scratch for everything. India is rushing to become the fastest growing economy in the world with millions of opportunities and a solid political leadership, a history in the making.

I am a Mexican living in Mexico, I have visited Canada on several occasions and I think it is an excellent place to live. The part I don't understand about this report is: if people are leaving Canada, why is the cost of housing still high? In my opinion, the people who are now leaving Canada realized too late that they cannot afford the standard of living in a country like Canada. The same would have happened if they had emigrated to England, France, the United States or Germany. The phenomenon has more to do with the value of work than with Canada. In the last two decades the value of unskilled work has plummeted, no one can live in a moderately developed country with an unskilled job, to make matters worse, now white collar jobs have also begun to disappear. Society is simply transformed again and the effects of this transformation begin to be noticed first in those countries where life is more expensive.

Most in New Brunswick like the low rating because it keeps people from moving here. Well, until covid happened. Because we managed COVID well, over 50,000 people moved here; most from ON, and that sent our housing market crazy. Many home values increased by $250,000 and that has created a housing crisis here because New Brunswickers don't make as high wages as most others. I've been in every province and territory in Canada and they all have there pluses and minuses. Which, is why I find these videos more entertaining then of any real value.

I've come across numerous comments urging people to leave and not return. As a Muslim, I find the notion of immigrating to Western countries surprising. Our beliefs often clash with theirs, making integration a challenge that often requires compromising our principles. While I understand that migration is often driven by conflict and instability, it's important to remember that these countries are meant to be temporary refugees, not permanent homes. Let's strive to be exemplary citizens during our time here, and when conditions allow, graciously bid farewell and express gratitude for the hospitality we've received.

This what right wingers wanted less foreigners so that should make them happy. Im okay with as well less people to compete with when looking for place to live or a Job.

The migrant crisis will continue to worsen, because the countries that these folks are leaving realise if they treat them like ? they will eventually leave making their own countries more prosperous and putting the burden on others. These countries with poor human rights are just laughing at the rest of the world taking in their strays, but sadly nothing is done to stop them, because the world is too woke and their are so many people / solicitors saying you can’t do that.

Moved to Canada 6 years ago and can’t make it work, despite having a good job. The housing costs are staggering, 60% of your income, if you can find a place. And the taxes are out of control, 40% of your income, plus you pay 12% tax on every dollar you spend! People are miserable here too, slaves to the housing bubble.

Many organizations have a culture of meek compliance to rules, which may not make sense. Most Canadians try to avoid standing out, and standing out is likely to be seen by your boss and peers as threatening. No one wants to rock the boat.\n\nThese rules and expectations may differ substantially according to the politics and beliefs of the employer. For instance, overtime may be highly encouraged in one place and discouraged in another. But the veneer of handling things in a highly compliant and pleasant way is always there, with a hidden expectation that you will speak positively about the biases of your boss or owner. In other words, the common factor is that bosses often have fragile egos or are afraid of anything that challenges the status quo. This harms critical thinkers and innovators who often leave to the US or China, but also immigrants who have even larger barriers to working within the status quo. \n\nEven among better bosses I have had, I notice this tendency towards intense discomfort with ideas that come from outside of their direct experience. Though at least with my current boss and one other I had in the past, there is an intellectual curiosity and empathy which helps them gradually open up to unfamiliar things (and they're just awesome people in general). But I still notice this bias sometimes. It's definitely cultural.

I blame the People in Power.. I blame the lack of housing on the people, so many opportunities to become a contractor and build many project's.. Canada is a mess for sure but we are not giving up.. Change is coming and I hope everyone get's a decent slice. I hate to see any Country turn away for bad reason's.. Come for fun or Education or what have ya and return to your home Country at a later date is not a big deal.. Everyone misses Home.. I just hope we can make everyone's stay a little better.. Piece by piece we will fix Canada.. Every Country has it's up's and down's, how we deal with it is what should make a Nation shine.. B.C I think we can write of as little Amsterdam.. lol ..
