The thing that needs to be explained to all would be immigrants: Go to the US Embassy in your country or whatever country you want to immigrate to and seek asylum or visa first, if the consular won't give you documentation, don't even expect to be welcomed into the country later, and if you are in the US illegally, visa expired, schools out or you crossed the border illegally you are committing a crime that could land you in jail and deported, you may even lose the right to enter the US later! If you are here illegally now, go to your consulate, they can help you!

They came from poor countries too, but they still followed the law. And these types of people should stop using their length of stay in the US an excuse not to get deported when they entered illegally in the first place. Also, 15 years in the US and still no English? This is the most biased Canadian propaganda I've ever heard. I was standing in line at city hall in Calgary (paying my past due power bill which I can barely afford, even though I make 40k a year.) and watched a flood of immigrants in front of me claiming their 100% free bus passes. Apparently, you need an authorisation letter from welfare to claim your free bus pass, yet, none of them seemed to have documentation that matched their id. One guy picked up six free bus passes with a stack of letters that didn't match his name, or, even surname, at all. The cashiers seemed like they had just given up and handed over the bus passes saying, "next time make sure the person named in the letter is here to pick it up in their free pass person." <sigh>

Canada has very strict laws regarding immigration, or even just passing through boarders , for example my wife and I are American and we live in Alaska however if you drive from anchorage Alaska to southeast Alaska you have to pass through a Canadian boarder, they didn’t even let my wife pass through because she had a DUI over 10 years ago and she had all her proper documents needed to pass through and no criminal record at all , it was just a DUI for crying out loud, and ps they Canadians are rude

Canada was founded only for white Europeans. It was never intended for people of colour. Even the indigenous aboriginals and enslaved Africans who were and are part of the story of Canada but written out of the official Canadian history books are not wanted here either. As someone who is more liberal minded, I don't agree with illegal immigration (I'm also pretty fiscally conservative). I'm open to the idea of healthcare for all, I'm open to legalized pot (even though I hate pot), I don't agree with most wars, and I don't give a rats ass who someone marries or who makes your cake. But all those things are for CITIZENS. That CITIZENS should have. Not someone who comes here just because they think everything is free, don't need to learn English and probably not pay taxes. What are people talking about saying half of Canada is french! One of my co workers who were Mexican , said they they .ight .over to Canada is bad. I told regardless of what the candian President days immigration is tough. I have zero issues with immigrants seeking a better life in another country, being one myself, but a few things about some immigrants baffle me always. How do people expect to be welcomed and accepted by the folks of another country when they don't even bother to learn the language. This guys been in the US for 15 years and can't speak any English? Its not the worse case , I've seen people live far longer 30 or 40 years in countries like the UK where I'm from and they cannot speak a word of English because they choose to live in a self imposed microcosm of the country they came from. \nThey have to understand that it's very insulting to native people and citizens of a country that you want to be treated as a citizen yourself but won't make efforts to adapt to the language and cultures of the country you have chosen to live in, I cannot think of a better way to ostracize yourself than failing to learn the language.\n It would be far easier to have sympathy for your cause if you are able to show that you have integrated and intend to be a citizen of that country 100% and the easiest way is to be able to communicate your cause yourself.
