ADVICES to some students: Do not come to Canada!! Why come here??? It is free to study in France and Germany anyway so why waste your money in Canada or Australia!!! Save your money and invest it in your homeland to start a business or buy a land or build a house!!! Don’t do like some North Americans who spend thousands in student loans and spend 15 years to repay them!!! Canada is NIT a as attractive as it was anymore anyway due to lack of job opportunities, crappy healthcare, crappy transportation (compared to France where I come from), and impossible rents!!! Just save your money and may be start learning German and/or French so that you got alternatives!!!!

I live in Canada and I have to say, the poverty here is really unfortunate, meanwhile the weather is nasty and you always have to worry about being safe outside.

When any system is overwhelmed by volume..due to poor planning, poor resource management, lack of or poor controls, you will have issues. Immigration is a system of processes. This system, along with cost, resources, and time, constitute a value stream. So, what Canada has is an ill defined value stream. It was designed for 100 people, yet it is now dealing with 10,000 people at eny given time. \n\nIt is time to go back and define the requirements. This means reining in the volume, cost, and related. This will mean difficult choices on ehere to put the money. It will mean trade-offs. We have already shown that universities and provinces can not manage this....only looking for money. \n\nIt is time to start looking at having a more robust input or immigration system. Yes, it will appear heavy, and it means saying 'NO' in certain situations. One can not be everything to everyone. \n\nDefine the guard rails of the processes. Make them clear and concrete. Make thrm known. The rigorously enforce them. It is a black and white input. \n\nAdditionally, regarding university and Canada, perhaps it is tome to take the right of allowing an international student to specify a specific university. Maybe they should be assigned based upon their chosen major and the load factor...the idea is all else being the same... even costs, their intake is assigned a priority, and the slot they get assigned to is based upon level loading and capacity of the system. They have no say as far as which university...just that they will have a coat effective, high quality, result.

Canada did exactly what China tried to do minus the industrialization. They tried to constantly prop up their housing market because Canada is such a uncompetitive economy because of all the trash and inneficient regulations. So basically the housing market absorbed all the money via quick appreciation of the assets but now their whole economy is distorted and in shambles. Everything the French lady said is spot on. My parents immigrated from Europe 60 years ago. They only speak English, they have never asked or taken handouts from the Govt. I like visiting the US, but don't want to move there. I like the people however cities are not safe. My cousin told me that his small town had 110 murders (WV) . I had just visited Montreal. They have 4.5 million people and had 28 murders that year and were complaining that it's getting crazy. We live longer than Americans and deaths at birth are less. If I had to move to the US, I'd buy a gun. In Canada, to protect my home, I just put on the outside light and lock the door. However, I usually forget to lock the door when I go to bed.

I'm a Japanese born & raised in Toronto, and used to love Canada. Now I'm seriously thinking of moving to Japan - a country that protects itself from migrants, and even over-tourism recently.
