We lived in Halifax ns. For 1 year we had invester visa without condition to invest or to work was our choice. I found very lonely very cold and few echonomical chances we lived one year and moved to many places to visit my wife and both sons liked but I did not my elder son did his commerce in four years but no job he too came back to dubai from where we migrated finaly all lived in Dubai till I came back to my village. Canada immigration system needs to be updated, right now even people come here with a visitor visa can work or apply for asylum, there are lot of loop holes in the system.

Nothing like a bunch of useless business students. If they were any good at it they would have started successful businesses. Canada needs a temporary visa for skilled workers that are needed, like Australia’s 457 Visa.

Am I missing something here, Im not sure about open door anything, if you want a job you need to have work permit, if you are old and not eligible for working/holiday visa you need a visitor visa and look for an LMIA approved job ONLY, while already Canada, jobless, as a visitor, IF you get the offer its only then you can apply for work permit and after you got it then they hire you. is that how it usually goes? Or you have tens of thousands of dolars for a college you get study permit that enables you to work too. So, I dont see how is immigration to Canada easy and I have absolutely no clue how Indians and rest of the gang do it in such large numbers. Do they all just come on visitor visa and hope for the best? what about accommodation, money?

Same problems with mass immigration in UK, Canada, New Zealand, USA, Australia. In Canada it's disastrous because it's only livable near US border, and people go to the main 3 or 4 cities where they think of getting jobs. To be frank, if you lose your citizenship. You lose your right to demand from indian government. I am in the usa. i don't have a right demand visa for extension. This is not my country. Just follow the law and get out when the terms of the visa end.

First of all , Students are not the problem. The poor unpractical courses in private colleges without any attandance is the problem, another problem is refusees and govt. allowed the asylum refusees , so many tourist visa converted into work , israelies asylum seeker , are the problem , students brings almost $60-70000 and loan , sells property , but after study he remains unskilled coz courses offered to them are useless from most of the colleges. problem is immigration system allowed unskilled people , useless courses , PR to tourist visa holders. Take this from a Canadian. Don't come here. We are full. I'll be voting to end every single pathway to Permanent residency. That includes voting to lower foreign student visa's to almost zero. Welcome to CanIndia….by by to Western ideology ?? Indians appear to continually look for loopholes to exploit them. This isn’t an immigration it’s an invasion. Many Canadians are sick and tired of this. If we are supposed to be a multicultural country than make it multicultural, cap immigration from India and allow more people to immigrate from Europe. Example; Canada will allow 500,000 immigrants/year and it would be divided by country. No loopholes to be exploited like the “student visa” scam that many Indians are exploiting now.

I feel lot of this started as a solution to solve the population crisis, and now immigration has ended up as Canada's addiction. People who run out of visa should leave, sure, but it's basic human instinct to try and stick to the better place. Also, if you don't bring value to the country, you will be the first victim of deportation. If you had a valuable skill or strong academic accolades you would not be kicked out, but because you don't, you are getting kicked out, which is more than fair when a country cannot house you without hurting its own population. Two sides to all coins. \nThat said, I see that while the anonymous hate towards immigrants was always there, this atmosphere has changed the humble and polite Canadians into angry ones in open. I think it is government's fault for bringing people here, so we should point our anger correctly. When I was an international student it was a PRIVILEGE to go and study. You came with enough money for each year - otherwise, no visa. Stop giving visas to students that have no money and need to work to survive. It’s not a right to come study and Canadian students that need these jobs while studying can’t get them.
