Good! I was born in Russia and immigrated here as a kid with my mom. A lot of Russians went back for similar reasons, and I’m happy for them. You should go to where people live your values…and not try to change the values of the place you go to.

How on earth do they have the right to protest in our country? Temporary visas in other countries forbid protesting. While I disagree with changing the rules overnight because of governmental incompetence, I also don't agree with foreigners having any say in how we run our country. They'll be allowed to stay, especially with mainstream media behind them.

I do not support mass immigration. But if are deporting then it should be applied across the board. They can all go home. If we went to their country we would have to abide by their laws and they do nothing but challenge our laws. Why do they feel they can change our laws to the laws that they left in their home countries. And get those politicians to get Sharia law OUT of Canada.

Devil's advocate here, if the gov changes the rules on these international students half way through their program, that kinda sucks. It's called 'bait and switch'.

I think Everyone is right and wrong at the same time in all of this. Students are wrong to expect 'rights' in a country of which they are not a citizen of but they are also right in the point that government changed the rules overnight without any prior guidance. This the the same as increasing corporate tax rate in this budget. It came out of nowhere. The employers are also right because more labour = lower wages. These students are willing to work to far less than an average Canadian. If these students don't work for low wages then inflation goes ballistic. If you have to pay higher wage to manufacture a product then that extra cost gets passed on to the consumer. raising price of goods = inflation. Also This would increase taxes. If you pay more for a product, you pay % tax on total price of that item which now has baked in higher wages. If you do bring in more of these cheap labour than social services cant keep up like health care. I cannot believe how thoroughly this government has fked our country.

As a conservative I can tell you that Libs Creating new vote bank. These colleges are a big scam. The students know beforehand that its a track for immigration and are promised by agents in India. Being an Indian I think Canadian Govt. must make stricter rule regarding the change of character in the city's culture. You can't build outposts of India everywhere even if you are allowed in. Canadian I would say are the worst stereotypes I have encountered so far after being in Europe, USA, China, Middle East etc. once I tried to be Canadian resident and experienced a heart trenching straight behaviour from immigration, lawyers and officials. They don’t seem to possess a simple wisdom or foresight a progressive nation must have. They are stuck in a tunnel vision of being nicer or western or straightforward people without thinking out of the box incapable of accepting a little change or flexibility. Being a technical person I obviously got panicked to be a part of that system with hopeless outlook, so decided not to be part of it when millions were dreaming of Canada. Thanks God to guide me and escape from a torturous life of working mechanically for decades just to fulfill a foggy dream of owning a house and a car in a cold hell.

Correction: Vancouver, while facing extreme difficulties due to a lack of affordable high-density housing, is doing a LOT to try and fix this in comparison to other cities in the infrastructure sector. Just over the last couple years, we've had some pretty extreme zoning policy changes, we have a yearly rent increase cap (which backfires once tenants move out, but that's another story) and we're building new transit infrastructure which now, legally, requires only high-density housing build in the surrounding areas. \n\nThe population growth here has wildly exceeded the amount of housing growth in the last few decades. Not to mention the insufficient wages, high cost of living and a broken healthcare system. Our people are struggling but if you have to live in a city right now, I'd choose the greater Vancouver area. Down the road, I see us improving the most infrastructure-wise out of any Canadian city, which will hopefully benefit social sectors as well.

It is common for people on this community to never assimilate and instead try to change the place they live into the place they escaped from. So bizarre. Wish you the best of luck either way.

People with dual intent should be deported,basically u r misrepresenting cause u r saying you are coming to visit and then you change ur visa to work permit or seek asylum should be deported if over stay cause if u r asylum seeker then u should declare at the port of entry…

It's really getting ridiculous - I'm making 6 figures, and was living comfortably until 2018. Now I have to pinch every single penny. One thing that changed is I had my first-born. But it should not be this expensive to raise of family of 1 child. It's getting ridiculous. We've been considering emigrating elsewhere. \n\nHaving done everything - from going to university, making sacrifices to afford a first home - yet we're still regressing in life. This shouldn't be. \n\nI thought Canada was heaven on earth - but that view has changed, as it's getting more difficult to survive, forget thrive.

no matter who gets into power, in any country, from any political background, it doesn't matter. nothing ever changes for the better, it only gets worse. its the poor, vulnerable and disabled who become the first victims of the down trend. just look at the u.k. where hundreds of thousands of people murdered because of our government using us as scapegoats to drive their policies, one of which being the hostile benefits policy. you can easily find info about it online by searching the term and u.k. dwp deaths.\nthe most frustrating part about it is that poor disabled people can't do anything about it. we are ignored not just by the government but by society in general. we have no voice and so our suffering goes on. it feels like a hopeless situation.

Canada used to be a place you could be proud of being from. Right now I think I'd rather be, in no particular order, living in USA, England, or Australia. I don't have issues with anyone or any culture in particular, but demographics are something that should change slowly over time, such that you don't really notice, not something that is ramrodded down your throat.
