Is it really wise to shift the complete blame to indian immigrants, shouldn't government have a share of the blame too after all it's your own immigration policies you exactly know how many ppl you letting in and you happily except their money to keep your economy upfloat but when the things go south start blaming the Indians completely. Yes i admit there are too many Indian much more than the permissable number but why tf did u grant them visas and accepted their money in the first lay. A highschooler with avg maths score would tell u there would be give demographic shift after looking at the immigration data. I think it's a complete incompetency on the part of government, they should have been more strict and mindful about the immigration number.

You also need to include the deluge of fake asylees with students and TFW. Everyone is so obsessed legitly with those two groups that no one is mentioning the surge of easy visitor visas to those turning into fraudulent asylum claimnants and clogging the system. They're being paid on average 17K from taxpayer (stats from govt. PBO), creating pressure on housing and jobs. As a matter of fact, this group is worse than students and TFW coshidering the latter group is paying something in the Canadian economy (although that contribution is negligible at this point). I would also like to point to not conflate real asylees with these visitor visas to asylum seekers. They are economic migrants and NOT any asylee; fraud perpetrated by JT and his incompetent ministers.

Truth is Canadians don’t have money to go to university…. They depend on student loan from Immigrants hard work n contribution to the economy. Is it not an irony ??????? Also remember international student pay 3 to 5 times more for school fees in cash!. Government knows this but you don’t??

Honestly this is a worldwide problem affecting not only first world countries but also growing economies, Im Mexican and a big wave of first world immigrants to my country have raised the prices in housing, food, etc, a lot of us has been forced to move to find more affordable prices, since previous rents doubled or in some cases got triplicated.\n\nAnd I know they are moving because the situation in their own countries have gone so hard that everyone is looking for a better chance, the world governments needs to do something because life is getting hard for EVERYONE.

The government under Trudeau is a disaster and it shows that he does not know what he is doing. He is giving foreigners the chance to thrive in Canada and does not think of the Canadian residents. A lot of the students uses every loophole to stay in Canada either before and after education to secure permanent residents. Why are students allowed to work. They are supposed to help the economy by going to school, not taking jobs from Canadians.

I have been hearing this racist rant since I came 53 years ago blaming the immigrants. I have never worked less than 50 hrs a week since coming to Canada and am enjoying my hard-earned retirement. I'm afraid you don't mention that all Students must bring at least $50,000 for their duration. Imagine all the jobs they created e.g. Teachers, bought food and other essentials. By the way, they have their own medical insurance. There is a shortage of workers, and small businesses can find workers. The other day we stopped in Barry'Bay for coffee they were closing the place at 2:30 pm because they didn't have enough people. You cannot blame students for the housing crisis there are other factors. Canada's economy is doing fine compared to other G-7 countries. More foreign students will fuel the research and development of this country, so please respect them.

Stop criticizing International student! They bring money here to boost economy and hardly collect money for living here during their stay. Yeah those who work on cash should be monitored. There not coming here for education, its a joke , reality check....800 million Indians only make $2 a day in India, there here to stay and then they bring there wife's, parents ,children, etc under compassionate grounds. International students, most of them work rather than are in school. Why the government allowed this many students and temporary workers? Have they not visualized the long-term impact on the economy? A failure policies.

India should STOP IIT graduates from immigrating to western countries and contributing to their economy.

Why not just exclusively adopt the skill qualification as the criteria for granting PR status like 20-30 years ago. Isnt that the minimum every 1st world countries should require?They can bring their immediate spouses and children BUT do away with allowing old parents or Grandparents. At the least, international students should not be allowed to work here. If they really came to study in Canada, thry better study and do not go to Food banks and collect free ration or work in Tim Hortons to make money. If they came to canada as students it means they hail from filthy-rich families otherwise how can they afford? If it is so, why do they have to work here? Local students are not getting jobs. No it's economic survival. Our kids can't find work. TFW are taking jobs in fast food and retail, not agriculture. Their money gets sent home. It doesn't stay here and it doesn't benefit our economy. It doesn't support all of our social programs. If the next Gen can't get even part time minimum wage work then down the road who's paying for healthcare, education, welfare, CPP, OAS etc?? It's not hard to put on your critical thinking cap and realize the only ones benefitting from TFWs and foreign students are post secondary facilities and immigration consultants and lawyers.

My Indian parents came to Canada from Dubai in the early 80s and I grew up in Canada. The problem is, the Indians coming to Canada now are not the immigrants who used to come here. 20- 50 years ago, when immigrants came to Canada, they understood that they are moving to a new country with different laws, values and culture and they have to assimilate accordingly because they planned to call Canada home. To get into Canada, you had to have some level of higher education or investment means to help develop and add to the economy. But now, over the last 10-15 years, the kind of people coming in are straight out of the villages (mainly north Indians), with no education, low societal values, no care for assimilating and are even criminals who were wanted in India. By using Canada's study permit program, hundreds of thousands of Indians came here with the explicit plan to stay and never go back. To make matters worse, they feel now that they are in Canada, they can break the rules, break the laws and commit heinous crimes. If you look at the Toronto news now, it is ONLY Indians (mainly Punjabi's) committing most of the crimes from extortion to drug dealing to carjacking etc. Even the Indo Canadian community can't stand the people coming to Canada over the last few years, it is NOT a race issue! The issue is too many people from a different culture who don't assimilate!

Dont cut immigration down.....tell me how did Indian intl student makes up about more than 80% out of all international students. Why didnt the government put a cap or a stop specifically just for Indian people? Why didnt the immigration look deep before giving student visa just like a snap of a finger and see if they can support themselve for school and living expense. \n\nI am an immigrant myself but when i decided to come to canada as a student. I made sure i had enough funds to sustain myself here in canada for 2 years until i can get my work permit then a head to PR. Nowdays I see a lot of international Students get access or abusing goverment facilities and benefits for which not entitle for them but Canadian residence only (PR or Canadian Citizen). I never ask for Cerb when covid happen, never ask food bank my part time job can fullfill that, paid my fare for using transportation, paid my rents and utilities on time and paid my credit cards. Lastly i never complaint focus on my study and I get good high paying jobs. I am proud to contribute to Canadian Economy as an Immigrant.\n\nThe question is are they doing the same? If you cannot sustain yourself dont add your burden to the country. We (Canadian Residence) paid heavy taxes from our sweat to cover ur burden and debt. Put yourseld in our position and you know what I mean.\n\nCanadian Goverment is too nice compare to other western country go and take a look at the US, Australia, British, New Zeland and Europe Nation. If u cannot sustain yourself do you think those gov at given country will give a care abt you? Housing is a huge issue since the bane of our existence yet Canadain Gov trying to make money out of Indians by creating a portal to come to canda and study but the homelessness, economy, pollution through the roof. some insane leader thought that this is good idea to bring wasaga beach poopers in and create diversity in the country.
